NXT Motors with the EV3 Brick - Compatible?

My son and I are having issues to get the NXT motors to work with the EV3 brick. We're having many 'random' errors and, primarily, the EV3 remote simply does not operate the NXT motors.

Anyone aware of what the issue is? and if there is a fix?

That's really odd, I thought that the NXT motors worked exactly like the EV3 ones, and that there was backwards compatibility. I could have sworn that there was a forum as part of the Mindstorms website, so you could check there. If all else fails, contact customer service.

I don't have an ev3 but I did look at getting one, I read several times they are fully compatabil

To my knowledge, EV3 Motors are fully compatible with the NXT Brick, and the NXT Motors and sensors are compatible with the EV3 Brick.
