After series 26 was Space themed there weren’t any space characters in series 27 (the closest being the jet-pack racer), so I wouldn’t be surprised if the May series doesn’t have any animal costumes (with maybe an exception for a new Dino costume since the January series doesn’t seem to have one).

Hopeful news for those of us who want actual animals and other new accessories in a cmf.

I wouldn't count on it, we've had 2 Costume CMFs before and the next and previous still had 3. Series 25 was also absent of Space figures so if it was gonna be the same 27 wouldn't have a costume character

We should definitely know by now not to try and apply logic to the CMF line up

True, but I think rule one though is multiple costume figs will be in every non-licenced series, that's seemingly the most popular CMF niche with kids, LEGO loves them and they've not only never sat out an original CMF lineup for about a decade but I think there's at least 2 for every series for the longest time

What about Astronomy Kid from Series 27? That would consider as “Space” and “City”

(In quiet voice) I love animal costumes.  And I’m not a kid.

@Robert8 Just finished making the guessing game for Series 29. :)

Awesome! Do you have a link? I can't find it through searching for some reason

That’s a weird thing because i can’t find it somewhere but you can click “Speical Lego Themes” at the top of this webpage. This will show a list of topics! :)

I see more and more minifigures with tattoos in both CMF and City sets.  It makes me wonder - when will we see face piercings? I thought Spooky Boy form Series 16 was the first person to have piercing around  his mouth but it was  actually a fang.  And I was informed that one character from Friends do have a nose piercing. (I forgot who has it…). Sure minidolls do have noses but still no face piercings for minifigures (other than nose piercing).  I feel parents are okay with tattooed minifigures so face piercings should be fine too.  A lip piercing should be perfect for Spooky Boy in first place….

Facial piercings on punk or goth type characters would be cool, but I'm not sure how well they could "read" at such a small scale of printing.

I wonder if Lego could Jsut print a small gray circle at bottom or  one of the eyebrows.  Or a gray dot reprensts as a metal ball.  I am pretty sure Lego is enough clever to come up with facial piercing prints.  Also, fiscal piercings should not be limited to punk or goth characters.  My boyfriend is neither punk nor goth, he had a nose piercing  and several earrings around his ears .

This is a fair point, but minifigures tend to be more archetypal than real people, in no small part because they have to be very simplified at their small scale.

I disagree with the  firsthalf of this quote and I agree with the second haf. I feel facial piercings should spread widely just like tattoos. For example, officers from 2024’s City Space subtheme have/had facial tattoos rather than lower ranks or even civilians like fitness instructor from recent CMF series have tattoos. No stereotypes for goth and punk minifigures. But i do agree with you on simipifion at a small scale.

By the way, I forgot about two characters from Spderverse CMF Series (Spider-Gwen and Spider-Punk). They do have facial piercings, yet not in non-licensed series.
