2GodBDGlory Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Ooh, congrats on finding the parts to make brown work! Quote
Michael217 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 (edited) Need to work better on the proportions, the side transition line should be extended to the headlights, and the excessive slope of the hood and rounded panels are unnecessary. And add more System details to smooth out the transition and make the hood more recognizable. Edited June 30 by Michael217 Quote

Using system parts in technic body is cringe for me Edited June 30 by paave Quote

I think you can see these obvious things for yourself, and the photo angle doesn't matter. The hood doesn't have any curves on the sides, and the line along the body should extend to the front fenders. The front bumper should be pushed forward, otherwise, why do you need it in the first place? A little bit of System details never hurts a Technic model ;) Quote

A little bit of System details never hurts a Technic model ;) I think you are trying to compare orange and apple (Technic build Paave show, and System Build you proposed). But with a rude tone, full of affirmation and command, that was not mandatory. You seems to be good at LEGO system, so why not create a new topic on your version of the Blazer, so everybody can shine in this specific field ? Paave's work is good, it is not easy at this scale to get correct shape, proportion (with color limitation too) and playability / sturdyness (depending of what the builder want). Only drawback would be the side shape of the hood, but I assume it is a compromise that I am sure Paave would have correct if he could. Nico Quote

I agree that front bumper should be moved forward, I noticed that a bit late, but I'll correct it What you made with system parts is not improvement to me. I use technic parts with what is available with particular color, and there's not much choice at reddish brown Quote

It probably sounded rude because of the automatic translation, as I don't speak that language. The Paave model really inspired me to create my own version. ) I'll add it to my project list once I've finished all the others. 42 minutes ago, paave said: Bumpers updated That's much better. Quote

gyenesvi Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Nice work on the brown, cool that it could be done with the limited inventory, interesting vintage model! I like the steering solution too, if I see correctly it is linkage based. I agree that the hood of the first version was a bit too round and too angled. But the second version looks a bit too low to me. I think that the front grille should be raised a bit too, about half a stud, then the corner of the hood would align better, and then the hood should be raised back half a stud too, but keeping it close to flat. Thank you! The bonnet angle is now fixed, and the round is fine for me, just because the point is the more panels the less liftarms *** The updated version is now there! Edited July 25 by paave Quote
Kamil Posted July 25 Posted July 25 (edited) I would like to see the last pic, however, I could not open the latest version. I could say for the first version, the roof would be one stud wider to match the boxy appearence of the original. Then the windscreen angle and the side angles would match better. The body under the windows is generally okay for me (bumpers may be as mentioned in the previous messages). I also agree if you could adopt a longer yellow side signal lamp (or reflector) instead of your round one, then this detail may bring more realistic look to the entire body. The actual pictures are in the first post. The roof width is determined by side connectors angles. The long side signal lamp isn’t possible with the parts used, because they are the part of the structure Edited July 25 by paave Quote
