I voted NO because for my mocs I build bases with bricks and plates and so I have not used a baseplate in years. I maybe would resort to baseplates if I would build a very large display or a city.

Here are my expanded answers...

1. Basically since childhood. Interest waned as a teenager but I never fully put the bricks down.

2. Nope, no kids.

3. Not at all. I love the tactile nature of LEGO, and the fact it has to withstand the laws of physics, but I find digital building is SO valuable for scale models especially. It's a great sandbox.

4. I would more say that there are too many IP tie-ins than too few in-house themes (as @Yperio_Bricks says, they're not all winners!). Then again, I like that there's something for everyone, even if it does involve licensing.

5. Hot take: no. I have a lot of nostalgia for the 9V era. Had the question been "did the 9V era have the best train designs", it would have been a resounding yes. But as a system, I don't love it. The rails are more prone to breaking, and you need a basic understanding of electrics or model railways to make layouts more complex than a loop.

6. Not a fan personally, but I don't begrudge those that do enjoy them.

7. I listen to music whenever I do anything, so yes!

8. I don't care for baseplates particularly.

9. Function first. If I had more space I would probably do colour too.

10. Yes, on occasion!

Agree. The matter of in-house themes vs. licensed is a whole can of worms that we do not need to reopen here.

Same here. Either you are tied to a specific size in a contest or it's more interesting to create a custom base.

My vote on the train system can be ignored, I liked 12V and 9V both on first sight but never owned either one so can't make a proper judgment. Maybe it'd be best to have a third option for those who didn't own any, with questions about very specific things.

The sorting bricks question is a tie for me between color and shape/function, since it depends a lot on what bricks.
Basic plates, tiles, and bricks are sorted color first (different boxes or drawers per color) and shape/function second (inlays per size).
Specific parts and especially Technic stuff is sorted by shape/function first.
I have adjusted some of it throughout the years, depending on quantities I own.

I don't think the licensed vs in-house is difficult at all. Yes I think there are too few in-house nowadays compared to licenses, but obviously that doesn't mean I automatically like every in-house or dislike every licensed. But that wasn't asked, was it?

The kids-related LEGO world is probably a whole different experience and neither parents nor the kids may hang around on this forum until a certain point. Personally I would have loved to have kids, but German adoption laws are generally quite complicated and I never had the kind of money to get them via surrogacy, either, since it's not allowed in Germany. As a single gay man options are unfortunately severely limited in that regard. :-(

Oof, sorry to hear that man. My story is a lot simpler, I have no wish for children. Being single greatly helps in my case 
That aside, my actual Lego time is quite limited these days. I'd love to build bigger projects, but the time & space & budget are obvious concerns.

Some of my answers need clarity beyond Yes/No:

1. I've been a fan of LEGO since age 2 some 33 years ago. Some years show fewer new purchases, but I've been purchasing secondhand every year since childhood.
2. Definitely build sets (hopefully eventually MOCs) with my nephews; planning a whole LEGO building day in about a week!
3. I like digital builds and certainly make my own, but my primary purpose is to at least eventually have the bricks for a physical build and only use digital builds as a design tool, especially for confirming pieces and colors available for purchase.  I'd rather spend more time just free-building with my collection, but am not there yet with having dedicated space and my nephews having the age/experience/time to free-build with me as well.
4. I certainly feel there are too few in-house unlicensed themes and think this goes beyond just my nostalgia.  Though I won't hate on licensed themes directly, I just wish there was also market space for more open-ended world-building type themes that I grew up with.  In general, this is a minor disappointment for me, since I just buy (from LEGO or secondhand) the pieces I want for my own builds and do not need to depend on LEGO sets being released for my own interests.  When I was growing up, LEGO was my pop-culture; I still wonder if today's children will have stronger ties to LEGO as a brand and product or to the IP's represented... I know my ties are quite strong to the worlds LEGO created with their own themes in the 90's (nostalgia accounted) and making my own characters and stories (or at least story extensions) for these inspiring roleplaying worlds.
5. I said no, but I am quite inexperienced and uninformed in my Train opinions; All I really have/had to this point is a 9V train with the conductive rails from the late 90's.
6. At this point, I mostly think the Smart Bricks are extremely underwhelming;  I have a strong personal bias that makes them unnecessary, since I and related children can just make our own sounds and action features in our play or design our own electronic features.  I don't hate Smart systems, but I am yet to see reasons for it to succeed anywhere close to the level that I think LEGO hypes and hoped for. (I will also note that I have no firsthand experience yet, just my surmising.)
7. Music for background is almost always a feature for my LEGO building and sharing with my nephews; often it is music from the LEGO PC games, such as LEGO Island and LEGO Racers!
8. I voted yes that baseplates are important to me but with nuance.  I think they are a great feature in original playsets in giving a quick and simple building space and adding some features to the build, but most of my MOCs have had custom bases.  I developed several standard baseplates that can be interconnected for my future MOCs, and these are based on 48x48 baseplates directly, so I'd have to say baseplates are more often important to me than not.
9. I understand the arguments for sorting by color for free-building, but I find design much simpler when bricks are sorted by function.  My opinion is that both systems have justifications and could be employed in my LEGO room for different reasons.  I also need to differentiate my sorting between old and newer parts due to often working on restoration of original sets and being particular about authenticity.
10. No question, the world around me is inspiration for my LEGO building; often my mind starts to break down what I see around me into applicable LEGO pieces at minifigure-scale even when I do not have specific plans to build a MOC around that subject matter.

1. Had some basic LEGO in kindergarten. Dark Age until college, secretly bought some sets. Dark Age again until the kids came along.

2. Yes, when the kids were little. Tip: buy them sets you would like to have if they enter the Dark Age. 

3. Not really my thing unless I'm creating a standard for a group collab to follow. Providing the group a studio file is helpful to have everyone on the same page.

4. Not applicable. Have reached critical space issues for sets. 

5. Missed out on 9V trains but had more realistic HO scale.

6. Not available in Canada yet. I think it is more fun DIYing it with microcontrollers like the ESP32. With DIY, you can be smart and make your battery replaceable. 

7. Some times, depends on the mood. 

8. Yes. They make it easy to move and setup my GBC modules at events and shows. Line up the baseplates, lock them together, hook up power, and entertain the crowds. 

9. Sorting? One of these days, I'll get around to it. 

10. Yes.
