dimka_ya Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I'd like to try my hand at building small, 6-stud wide passenger cars that fit the minifigure scale relatively well :) The first one will be a sedan like this one. I built it for my son from real parts and thought, why not do it myself? The interior fits one adult figure and you can also fit a baby or a dog :) Well, of course I couldn't resist and added some colors (I'm not sure if these details are in these colors, but still) To be continued :) Quote
Siroco Posted April 12 Posted April 12 They are all great! 6 stud wide are my favorite ones, they fit city scale perfectly. Hated when speed champions shifted to 8 wide, higher level of detail but useless for city, now they are display models only. Quote

Yes, the new Speedchamp cars are not at all suitable for Lego City, but, to be fair, it was difficult to realize the beautiful shapes of some models in the 6-stud width :) I've found myself in a funny situation. I've been collecting 8-stud models and even converted (widened) some 6-stud models. Now I'm obsessed with 6-stud cars and am thinking of converting some wide ones back to narrow ones :))) I don't know if I've expressed this correctly in English, but it's a reverse conversion :) Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Wow, also this new one is totally cool! Great design! Quote

I generally agree. But, unfortunately, it's not suitable for all cars :) On 4/14/2026 at 1:02 AM, LEGO Train 12 Volts said: Wow, also this new one is totally cool! Great design! StefanStacksStuds Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Bigger and more details definitely doesn't automatically equal better. I personally enjoy looking at creative "imperfect" solutions for a let's say 6 or even 4 stud base so much more than those hyper detailed, smooth 8 stud cars. The new Pokemon sets are another great example of this. Ironically the smallest Pokémon builds (the 3 starter ones) work so much better than Pikachu, and they are like a third of the size. Quote

Ideally, I would like to, of course, “improve” the 6-stud width cars. I want windscreens that are 5 stud or 6 stud wide at the base and transition into a 5 stud roof :) I rebuilt my kid's Dodge Charger speedcampions - the 4 stud roof is giving me no peace :)) Edited April 19 by dimka_ya Quote
StefanStacksStuds Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Hey, I think it looks really good! The 4 stud windscreen doesn't bother me at all! Can you fit a minifigure inside? I would certainly prefer your version over the official one. Quote
