Here is a custom modular I built a few years ago.

I took some inspiration from 4954 Model Town house and older modular buildings. I also wanted to use part 28327 Door, Frame 4 x 4 x 6 Corner, which came with the 31105 Creator Toy Store.

I'm really happy with the ground floor window front and the balcony above. The roof windows can also be opened up to access the interior.

The idea to make this a library came from a Reddit user. So far there are no interiors, but I think having some high bookshelves with ladders could work really well.

Sadly the 4954 from my childhood has been sitting too close to a window, therefore you will see some yellowed pieces :sceptic:

Ah, a lovely design. Reminds me of some of those architectural builds done back in the day by Deborah Higdon. Would be interesting to see how you incorporate the interior details. Either way, it will have more books than the 2020's Bookshop. :pir-tongue: Good job! :pir-thumb:

Very old school vibe. I was able to recognize the old Creator buildings you took for inspiration. Those were the houses that got me back to building with LEGO. Definitely fond memories. Do you plan to add interior? It would be amazing to have a peek inside and see shelves of books.

I do! I just recently decided it's going to be a library. I will update this post when it's done :)

I love the entrance to the building - it's pretty impressive with the balcony on top. Sure, it says classic Creator style from years ago, but it's never the less great with all the details, including the 4996 Beach House rooftop window! It's a great solution and a perfect spot for some book exhibitons, don't you think?

Anyway, I'd like to say I'm missing the books inside the library, but to be honest, I can easily imagine the interior myself. There's so much space inside the house to tell all the stories! I'm looking forward to the updated post.

Looks great! Love the balcony and roof windows-perfect for a library setup. The yellowing adds a bit of nostalgic charm.

Thanks! I'm already working on the bookshelves :)

Thanks! My initial plan was to build a supermarket/department store, because that's something I always wanted to build as a child, but never had the pieces for.

But then someone on Reddit pointed out it should be a library, and I agree it fits much better.

A library has long been on my wishlist for an official modular building. (Along with school, doctor's office...) I really dig the classic Creator style. Making me want to get my hands on 4954 now. Very clean and minimalist, but also warm and fun. Great work!
