Good point- if things ever got bad I could always liquidate them. (I guess I have UCS boba too, I just didn't consider him a rare figure because I don't have him on display like my Thrawn, he's just chilling in the Slave One cockpit.)

I assume you'd display it, but there's just nothing special about him. I still don't get why lego made him in the first place, did the actor call and complain?

I'm gonna be honest, it was probably about diversity. I just checked UCS boba and he's worth $80, used to be even more before Boba arm printing became standard. OG Thrawn has also gone down a bit since the new one.

I got curious and looked up some other rare and expensive SW minifigs. Please correct me if I missed some! I’m going by memory :snicker: I think the top 3 are:

  1. The number one spot seems to go to the 2013 “NY I love” Yoda, priced above $2000 for a silly torso :laugh_hard:
  2. Finch Dallow is next, with the cheapest one on BL right now being $1400, which is also bloody ridiculous, but at least he’s an actual character from the movies.
  3. 2003 CC Boba Fett takes home bronze, priced at around $900. Also makes no sense to me since better versions exist!

Another baffling one is the Yuletide pilot from the Xmas X-Wing. Why is it worth over $600 now? *huh*

$45 for Young Leia. She’s a main character in a show I like and I don’t think Lego will release more Kenobi sets in the near future.

But I bought most of my loose figures (LOTR/Hobbit) in 2016-2019 so I paid around $10 per item.

So the UCS falcon is still in production, I know some people complain about the generic face used for Han does that mean technically they could (even if they obviously wouldn't) use that variation of a print they abandoned like 6 years ago?

I find weird production oddities like that funny, like how the late 2000s Rebel fleet trooper head outlasted it's 2012 replacement because they stayed in the Death Star until it's late 2015 retirement

Hello,

I've created a Star Wars MOC but it lacks in sturdiness. I'd like to reinforce it with some technic pieces to make it more sturdy. I would like to order some pieces that are generally good idea to use when creating mocs. Do you have any guidelines/parts that you use when creating a a technic "skeleton" for your MOCS? What are your favorite technic parts that increase sturdiness?

P.S.

I want my ship MOCs to be 'walkable' for minifigures. So I was thinking about using Technic H Liftarms  to connect the floor with the roof. However, they seem a bit too short.

I moved your question here as you're more likely to get answers in this thread. I would look at the playscale Millennium Falcon's for inspiration. I've found using the method of attaching Technic squares together (as they do in the set) and then layering plates on top and below creates a very sturdy base for larger ships.

I have only 9 different SW sets. BUT my target is to UNDERSTAND this theme.

It is so HUGE that it is difficult to get in. That's why I have asked from BIG YouTubers to help. That BOOK is also one of my targets. 5008878 LEGO Star Wars: The Force of Creativity. Can you give advice how to get into LEGO Star Wars?

Certainly. I would suggest the basics:

  • X-Wing (there’s a new one releasing in June)
  • AT AT (there’s one releasing sometime this year)
  • Millenium Falcon (there are many to choose from right now)
  • TIE Fighter (I’d advise waiting a while)
  • Jedi Starfighter (3 to choose from)

And then from there it’s a matter of your personal preference. Expand your Empire and Rebellion? Or perhaps your prequel collection?

Last I checked CC Boba was selling for 1500-2000$ a piece.

I think these are all examples of goods people will pay more for simply because they are rare.

Turtle getting into Star Wars surely wasn‘t on my 2026 bingo card :laugh_hard: But seriously, in addition to what @CloneCommando99 recommended, I would start by watching the movies and shows if you haven‘t done so already, and then grow your LEGO collection based on what eras you like the most (at the risk of no sets being available right now).

If you want a recommendation in which order to watch the movies and shows, the best way in my opinion is roughly chronologically in release order. So the original trilogy, prequel trilogy, sequel trilogy, Rogue One, Solo, The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew.

Kenobi, Andor, and The Acolyte can be watched at any point after the movies, and The Bad Batch plus the „Tales of“ shorts should definitely be watched after The Clone Wars, while Resistance is best viewed after the sequel trilogy.

The reason I place TCW and Rebels before the Mandoverse is because these shows prominently use characters from both animated shows. They‘re not mandatory by any means if you only wanna watch the live-action material, but it certainly enhances the experience ^^ And both shows are great!

It could be more interesting to make own SW CUSTOM UNIVERSE? ... not just buy a newest that and that spaceship? We need BASE:s and planet surface also. Villages and small towns, temple and so on...

Something like this for example. TERRAIN...

Start by watching the original three movies: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. That's the foundation the franchise is based on. From there, at the very least I would go on to watch the Prequels (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith) and Sequels (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker), as well as the cartoon The Clone Wars (there is also a seperate cartoon just called Clone Wars you can watch) and the live-action TV show The Mandalorian.

From there, there's plenty of material you can watch that's not as important to the saga. Some of it's really good, some of it's.... more of an acquired taste. These would be some of my reccomendations:

For dramatic, thought-provoking, and dark and grounded media, I would go with Rogue One and Andor. They have some of the best monologues and moral quandaries in the franchise, though they lack some aspects such as the force, large-scale battles, and the sort of Heroic Age theming I find the franchise to be built around.

For force-focused content thematically following on from the Original Trilogy, I would go with Rebels and Ahsoka. Plenty of lightsaber fights, starfighter dogfights, force intrigue, and the classical heroism themes. (Though not without it's shades of grey with characters such as Baylan Skoll)

If you loved The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett spins directly off of it.

For more obscure content that's some of my personal favorites, I would reccomend the Star Wars: Visions episode "The Ninth Jedi" or Charles Soule's run of the Darth Vader comics, as well as the 1990s Thrawn Trilogy books by Timothy Zahn (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command).

This is pretty close to what I view as the exact list of sets lego needs to have on shelves at all times: Some form of X-wing, TIE Fighter, Falcon, and Jedi Starfighter.

All that's up to you, and what you can create with the bricks you have. I've made a number of small dioramas to display my minifigures in.

Thank for help.

Like I said, my collection is 9 different SW sets. I own all 9 movies + 2 story movies. Also SW TV-shows are familiar. Andor season 1 my favourite. SW game: Skywalker Saga looks amazing! Anyway... I'm planning CUSTOM UNIVERSE, and I thought it could be a good idea to put against 2 factions, in 1 MOC.

Mushrooms vs Battle Droids

I hope this idea is good. In my CUSTOM SW universe there are factions and battleground. It is kind of game.

Im just rebuilding my 10195. I had modded the cockpit so it didn't need folding up when attached. Im sure id seen the mod somewhere like on Flickr in a step by step or something like that... bit cant seem to find it anywhere... which is making me wonder if I actually did it myself but im not sure that's the case....

Anyone know if its a thing somewhere? As the bag of bits the set was in doesnt have the original cockpit design bits but the modded bits (not got to rebuild the ship yet so its not just the cockpit mod bits left)

Additionally, im sure there was a thorough list of sets on here with links which had mods but cant find that either :sceptic:

I see a number of amazing builds of the hangar on Scarif but curious if they have any existing instructions.
