TeamThrifty Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago 2025? What the hell has gone wrong. Car, car, car, car, yawn, car, car, £350 for a 2500 piece p**s poor copy of 8043?!!, Car, car, car.... Coma. I've downloaded new instructions for the BWE and i'm rebuilding it this xmas. 10 times the set of anything available this year. Is this TLG's bright idea of the future or is the fault of the put-it-on-a-shelf demographic. I neither know nor care. Whoever it is is wrong. Quote
Timorzelorzworz Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Spoiler alert: It's not getting better :) Quote
8868 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago At least we'll save money. For me personally it's not big problem. I like cars and we get lot of new parts and parts in new colors for MOCs. Quote
Jurss Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) I bought 4 cars this year :) Until now I enjoyed building huracan, bronco. There were interesting and clever build techniques. FKX is waiting to be built. I have also F&F supra. Bought it mostly for parts, so don't know if I will build it. In fact, also others were mainly bought for parts initially, but appeared to be interesting builds. So, I would say it is not so bad. And don't judge book by its cover. Oh_Hi_Mao Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago The only purchase last year for me was bush plane and volvo front loader. That's it. I am still sour about the volvo excavator, that is the first technic heavy duty flagship which I haven't bought since 2011. I still cant process how Lego aproved functionality/pricing for 42215. Yeah same. I also buyed the polybag skid steer loader, and the 42213 for the suspension pieces plus the tires:). But mostly i have now spended my money on pantasy sets. They are much better:). Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Oh dear... I only got me the Ducati this year... The rest of the sets were kind of "meh" to me. Am i in my dark ages? Quote

It does feel like a a TLG induced dark age In many ways i'm fortunate, i spend 99% of my time building mocs. To me thats the point of lego, BUT, i enjoy a shiny new set with new pieces for xmas. I've had cada sets recently but they're 95% cars this year. I'm now 100% mocs with specific new parts bought directly from lego, but not sets. ...And the BWE rebuild will be awesome. Such an underrated set!! Quote

I have hte opinion, no, the statistics that customers do not prefer heavy equipment but supercars - that's the reason TLG produces too much of them Me as you can notice based on my mocs is a fan of heavy equipment. I bought zero sets of 2025 modelyear, but purchased recently o McLaren P1 set - tradition and collecting, nothing more. Quote

No, dark ages is when you don't build any more, not when you don't buy sets. 3 hours ago, TeamThrifty said: I'm now 100% mocs with specific new parts bought directly from lego, but not sets. So no problem here, keep on doing it, maybe buy some sets for the parts, and don't get disappointed about the sets; after you reach a certain level in designing your own stuff, it's natural that anything that TLG makes will not be so satisfying to you as it used to be. That's just how it is. Quote
