_TLG_ Posted Tuesday at 10:13 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:13 PM Hello, I’m excited to share my new MOC, the "Flame Tourer" — a black concert truck adorned with brick-built flames - inspired by my childhood favorite, a similarly decorated ’57 Chevy Matchbox car. It’s now submitted to the Bricklink Designer Program (BDP) Series 8: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-8/2924/Flame-Tourer It pairs perfectly with Speed Champions cars and it is great for LEGO City too – just add a crowd and start the show! It includes many details like a front bumper with integrated lights and a registration plate, sleek modern headlights with turn signals, and a distinctive grill featuring a custom logo and frame. Stickers are not used to keep the flexibility of the parts in further builds. I tried to fill every unnecessary gaps and therefore some tricky build techniques are used. The set includes 4 minifigures and offers plenty of playability. Both the truck and trailer feature removable roof assemblies, revealing highly detailed interiors. The truck cabin includes a driver’s seat with steering wheel, detailed dashboard, gear shift, passenger seat, and a sleeper area with a lamp. The trailer contains a cozy living space with a sofa, bunk bed, mini kitchen, and a functional bathroom (toilet and shower). It also includes the most elements of a mobile stage and musical instruments. The remaining stage components are stored in the trailer's left-side lower storage compartment, which features a practical accordion-style folding door for easy access. The trailer's rear door can double as a stage backdrop, see picture 9. All doors in the set are fully functional, enhancing the play experience - and of course you can assemble the stage and let the show begin! I hope you enjoy this set. Many thanks for your support and feedback! Thanks for visiting, _TLG_ Quote
Feuer Zug Posted Wednesday at 12:59 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:59 PM Rock on! I love how you did all the flames from bricks. The various types of slopes work well in giving it a more natural look. For the size, you packed in a lot of details for the truck, trailer, and band. Quote
_TLG_ Posted Wednesday at 03:22 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 03:22 PM @Feuer Zug Thanks! I prefer the brick-built solutions and really like the brick-built flames, and earlier already tested similar techniques in my '57 Chevy. I wanted to add lots of details for more realistic appearance and for more playability options :) Quote
brickphisto Posted Wednesday at 04:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:06 PM (edited) Great submission, well done! I would love to see a proper vehicle as a finalist but unfortunately I do have some doubts. The brick build-built flames look okay but not too great imho. Still I love that you prefer them over stickers. Did you consider adding a steering system? It would make the model even more desirable. I vote for it even though the price of estimated 130€ might be a bit steep. Good luck with this and your various other entries! It's nice to see a talented builder like you design very different models. By the way: great video creating and editing skills! Edited Wednesday at 04:06 PM by brickphisto Quote

Regarding the flames I worked hard on them, and I am pretty satified with the result. I know they are not perfect, but Lego has some limitations. The steering system is a good idea, but wouldn't be so easy, since the front is busy because of some tricky techniques. I really love Lego and although I design mostly cars, I like other themes as well :) I like the video too, but it was not created by me, but my one of my friends, he makes really cool Lego car videos which are available on Youtube and on Instagram ;) 53 minutes ago, Shiva said: Nice looking truck and trailer too :) Thank you!
