I share this perception, too.

I only buy the helmets to make my own customs with water decals, because I really don't like the animated style printing, even if it is better than the horrible printing style of the early 2010s...

Generally they could just make the characters consistently in Lego style regardless of the source media being animated or live-action.

First I wasn't so impressed but the AT-AT helmet is growing on me. I like the small details and overall the build.

But perhaps rather than fantasizing about what could have been in the official canon media on the forum, I could just build and share some of those alternative stories in the Lego form. That is one of the main enjoynments of this hobby after all, one can do in his or her own Lego Star Wars Universe just as one pleases regardless of what should be considered canon or not.

It is really strange to me that we haven't had the royal guard yet, but honestly if I was sitting on this design I'd want it out as soon as possible. This is by far their best helmet.

Yeah I mean obviously the official canon's moved on (I still think she could work in canon but that's besides the point), but I do think it'd be nice to get the odd Legends set every now and again.

I agree that the helmet itself is great but like the snowtrooper also a very blank one. There are no details and this might make a very boring lego set.

Generally they could just make the characters consistently in Lego style regardless of the source media being animated or live-action.

I actually kind of like the old animated style for clones, especially the p1, probably just nostalgia though.

I thought the boba helmet was one of the best, stormtrooper looked a bit off though.

That is indeed rather odd, even more so considering it‘s not only the sole helmet, but the only SW set in general released in March  Also, this may be the first ever „uncancelled“ set! Unless they redesigned it entirely from scratch, making it a new set technically.

Edit: And the UT-AT would be the second „uncancelled“ set then! Although that one‘s definitely a completely new model, given how long ago the cancelled one was supposed to hit shelves.

I don't think the UT-AT counts any more than something like Yavin would. In a situation like the AT-AT pilot I think we can reasonably assume it's largely the same model and they just held off for a few years (my guess is they were concerned it was too obscure and maybe changed their minds when they saw the aftermarket prices for the TIE Pilot helmet) but for something like the UT-AT, like you say, it's a completely new model in an entirely different era of the theme.

Right, I forgot about Yavin! But yeah, both original sets are way too old now for the released versions to be considered „uncancelled“

All 3 options rumoured to release this year are great options. That’s why I think helmets are being released this year. 

Let’s hope they continue, I think the helmet line is brilliant.

Did we ever get any confirmation regarding the Jango/Bo-Katan helmet? Is it in fact one of them? Both as separate sets? 2-in-1 perhaps?

Yeah I agree. Bly and Aayla aren’t exactly enough pull for a $150 set IMO. Also two minifigures and 10 droids in such an expensive set just doesn’t sound right.

I can't see it being a two-in-one - even if we treat Bo's blue and Jango's blue as the same, Jango's helmet is mostly silver, and Bo's is mostly blue and white.

IIRC the first jango leaks were just that he would be showing up in some capacity, so it's entirely possible it's just a Bo Katan helmet

Yup. At this point, I'm waiting on the January 2026 leaks. It's been very clear that if you're not into the 18+ gimmick sets or exclusively collecting clones/TCW, 2025 isn't your year. 

And look. Again. I like the clones. I have well over 50 of them in the current design scheme. But this is just ridiculous.

The 2014 set had 3 minifigures and 9 droids for the equivalent of $120 today, so we probably should have expected something like this. (As a side note, that 2014 MTT only held 6 B1s normally, so at least this implies the new one can hold at least 8-10)

My thoughts exactly. The animated style in the show is an interpretation of a real thing in its own style, but LEGO already have their own style. 

Translating the animation style onto the figures is like making a copy of a copy.

I hope Aayla doesn't have the awful new eyes, but at least for her we have the 2017 version which is already perfect. Unlike Ahsoka etc. where there's no real way to fix them.

I don't think lego remembers that the clone troopers used a different type of armor in the early phases of the war.

It's pretty random who does and doesn't have them, but female characters with head-tails tend to be a safe bet. (Pro tip, you can fix this on Hera by giving her the head from the She-Hulk CMF figure)

Sweet mother of Abraham Lincoln - that's actually genius! Even the lips are basically the same color!

Aayla does nothing to excite me - I was able to get her loose a few years ago, and I don't think there's many ways they could improve on that version. The eye color shift became a permanent fixture in Star Wars around 2022 or so, which is well before the 2017 Aalya, so I think there is a real chance that she'll be blind like Ezra, Hera, and the Emperor (still such a dumb move!).

Hopefully some Droidekas or something could sneak in to make the set feel more worthwhile.

GUYS! I don’t think we should be upset about the lack of any additional Star Corps troopers. You can just buy the additional 327th DLC pack using the millions of spare change we all obviously own! TLG is so thoughtful about their fans.

 

Meanwhile, this counts as official confirmation it’ll be a CIS blue MTT—bummer.
