LeFou and Maurice look good. So does the prince from what little we see of him. Cogsworth is well-built but he towers over Lumiere and Mrs. Potts now. Not to scale at all. I'm glad all the major enchanted objects are included (only the very minor Coat Rack is missing)

The interior is pitifully small though. The West Wing basically only has enough room for the rose. Belle's "room" is just the Wardrobe and no bed. The library is almost laughably scaled down. I do like the main entrance staircase.

There are two brown doors on both side of the staircase though and I wonder what they lead to. I like that there appears to be room for the minifigs to stand on the exterior balconies, in the tower and in front of the stained glass window.

I like it... But I can't say I'm convinced to do a $300 purchase for it.

It doesn't seem big enough to justify $300. The current Great Hall set is way more spacious but is only $200. The Frozen Ice Castle was even less than that.

Day one purchase for me!

If I were to complain, I would have preferred to get beast with ‘animal’ legs, and an alternate form as the Prince. (Or maybe we’ll get a future set with villager Belle and the Prince?)

This is what TLM set from 2 years ago should have been like. Something based on the animated movie, specifically King Triton's golden palace.

If the set is successful (and I'm sure it will be), I hope we can expect similar castle sets like this one and the previous Frozen one (without minidolls of course) from other popular Disney movies. Like the Sleeping Beauty castle from the movie with Maleficent's thorns and Agrabah Palace from Aladdin. And hopefully a proper castle set from TLM, either of King Triton's underwater palace or Prince Eric's castle.

Yup, day one purchase.

I really love this model. I do wish it was a little more spacious, but I'm glad they didn't go completely overboard either, I feel like this is more affordable than I expected it would be.

I'm happy to see that they include pieces to create a sitting version of Belle (using the method from the Lord of the Rings set).

Im excited to see what's hidden behind the wardrobe (if it could turn out to be Belles blue dress, that would be perfect!). Also interested to see what's behind the doors on the first floor.

Cogsworth is a little too big, but i also feel like they could have just sized Lumiere up a little to match.

I would have liked to see a proper kitchen and bedroom.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this set. I would love to see them do more sets based on the classic Disney films.

Any suggestions where to see these pics of the castle?

Ah! Found them. Pretty simple search. Familiar source.

It's beautiful .. I think if there's an acompanying GWP it'll be a day one for me, if not I might wait for double points. Pleased to see the array of minifigujres, Prince Adam too on the back of the box. Very pleased to see the 'sitting' version of Belle, I think in futire sets ( they should have started this with the Disney Castle ) if there is a character with a skirt slope then they should include the pieces to allow them to sit too. Agree with others that Cogsworth is out of scale, especially with Mrs Potts, almost wish they'd made a new teapot mould for her.

Looking forward to the hi-res pictures so I can have a good browse. 😍

Ok, now I see him! …now I just wish they included the animal legs.

It looks good and the figures are great.

On the one hand, it's smaller than I thought it would be, but that means it's also less expensive than I expected it to be. In general I like the style, proportions, and details.

But, it's a bit of a shame that the lower levels are the same width as the upper levels and it could do with a bit of extra width in the main lavender section on the ground floor, and the dining hall looks like it might be far too cramped to actually use the dining table. It's right on the edge, and could have done with a stud or two of depth. But that might be to give it more space towards the front, so I'd like to see more pictures. Of course, changing either of those things would increase the price.

I probably won't get it, unless my children start liking BatB, but it's lovely to see.

ETA: The curtains in the hall and ballroom look great. And look at all those books in the library! Modular bookshop, take notes!

I like that idea! Though if that was the case, I imagine they would have slipped it into one of the other shots, like with the Prince Adam head and the sitting down dress parts.

When they released the Diagon Alley set a few years back they included a Harry variant that wasn't advertised on the box, so it's definitely something they've done before. Admittedly, it's a longshot, but I like to dream.

I'm very curious if there might be a sticker on the ceiling of the ballroom to show the baby cupids.

The prince resembles Bill Weasley here. I don't think that's the same head though. It might just be the lighting but his face looks more tanned than Belle's.

If the tower was thicker and hollowed out, they could have put some rooms there. A jail cell for Maurice anyway.

Also wish some suits of armor and gargoyles had been included. One of my favorite scenes from the movie was when Belle is first walking to her room and gets frightened by all the grotesques around her. They really added to the gothic vibe of the castle, but I guess there's no room in the castle for gargoyles or suits of armor, besides maybe next to the staircase on the first floor.

I’m torn…On one hand I wanted it to be larger, primarily so the interior could be more spacious. On the other hand, I’ve been wanting minifig castle sets for all the classics so I’m happy with the size/price of this set if it’s the first of many to come.

Day 1 purchase for me.

It’s fine, guys! At this price point, the set is affordable, and if it sells well, it will encourage Lego to make more of these kind of sets in the future.

For those who want a larger set, you can probably just buy two of these, and wait for somebody to MOC it on Rebrickable! 😂 Right?

Yep, to be clear, I love it. My comment was more forward thinking, 5 years from now if this is the only minifig castle they’ve done at this size, I’ll be disappointed it wasn’t bigger. If there are more to come over the next few years, I’ll be glad they went with this size/price point.

I like it but it seems a bit small for the price.  Don't know if I'll be buying it.  So many other sets I want already.

Wondering about the same thing, too! I wonder which minifig set they’ll release next???

I’m Thinking that they cannot release another castle? There will be too many castles all at the same time. Lol.

Currently, we have snow White cottage, Lilo house, and then this beauty and the beast castle, with a regular Disney castle as well. So this lineup is not quite competing with each other.

Maybe the Encanto house next?

Wait, sleeping beauty still doesn’t have a prince! We were supposed to get the maleficent dragon set, but they made that a mini doll set instead! But she is the only other major princess that has not gotten any highlight, other than that Microcastle set.

She's not near as popular, but I would put in an argument for Merida. She at least probably deserves a one-off CMF.

Raya also technically counts, but let's face it, we all forgot about her and her movie. I wouldn't be shocked if she gets retired like Jane and Esmerelda were.

Isn't there a Pixar set coming out later in the year? If there are minifigs, they might include Merida in that.

I see Raya mostly being ignored or maybe getting a minifigure in a random CMF series just for representation's sake. I don't see her being phased out as a princess just because Disney would get too much flack for removing their Southeast Asian princess. They were able to remove Esmeralda only because it was the mid-2000s, before the age of social media and much racial awareness, and also because the Romani are still heavily discriminated against with little advocates. That was more a Bob Iger decision, another reason why he's a hack who ruined Disney (and all the IPs Disney purchased).

Two actually, but one of them is a Toy Story  set and the other is based on WALL-E  Not sure if they‘ll ever release a set directly based on Brave, but Merida could (and should!) be incorporated into the next Disney CMF series, once that (hopefully) materialises.

Or alternatively, a Pixar set that features characters from different films. The Toy Story celebration set is too small to feature other Pixar characters I‘d say, but the Luxo Jr Ideas set could theoretically do that! Sure, the fan model didn‘t have any minifigs, but it wouldn‘t be the first time they added some

We're getting the POTC Icons set featuring the Black Pearl.

Besides Prince Phillip, we don't have Prince Eric for Ariel either. And I think Eric is the prince who shows up most prominently in the minidoll sets (either him or Charming) so it's weird why he's been excluded. I guess because of the lack of a set for TLM and after that remake set was a big failure, maybe Disney is reluctant to revisit the property, even if its the animated one. We're also missing John Smith for Pocahontas, although thankfully I have a custom figure for him.

So far the princesses who have gotten their own sets outside of the Princess theme are:

  • Snow White with her cottage set
  • Aurora with her microscale castle set
  • Ariel with her microscale palace set and her remake clamshell set
  • Belle with her upcoming castle set
  • Jasmine with her microscale palace set (even if she herself wasn't included)
  • Elsa and Anna with their minidoll ice palace set

Cinderella and Rapunzel are the two major princesses without sets at this point. I can see Cinderella getting her coach or Rapunzel getting her tower, especially since there are rumors about a Tangled live-action movie and a Mother Gothel live-action spinoff film. And since we've gotten TLM and then BATB, I think in the future, the next likely choice would be a D2C Aladdin palace set. Maybe Sleeping Beauty with a minifigure dragon set if Lego ever wants to redo that set outside of the princess theme.

The Luxo Jr Ideas set was the one a lot of people were speculating could feature an assortment of minifigures so Merida's best chance would be in that outside of another CMF. I agree that Brave isn't popular enough to warrant a new set. I think even in the princess theme, she never got any Lego sets themed exclusively to her outside of the original film's release.

The Beauty and the Beast Castle looks very nice and I'm happy the price is on the lower side of the rumoured price range. The set is not perfect and could be improved, but in general is pretty good.

Regarding the minifigures, I'm happy to get Lefou and Maurice, although the hair for the later seems a bit odd to me (too much hair, Maurice only has hair on the sides and is mostly bald on top). As for Beast, while I don't mind his head, I find it sad that the tail piece is all the same colour. The joining part to the legs should be in the same colours as the pants. The pants aren't great either. I understand that Lego wanted the same legs for both beast and human, but the human should have gotten an extra pair of legs with stripes on the sides and more accurate boots. Belle and Gaston are great. Belle's dress is updated and Gaston has the arch now. Regarding the objects, while I think they are not perfect, they are probably the best version we've had of each of them. There's still the problem with the scale. I think I would add a round piece below Lumiere to make him taller and match Fifi and Cogsworth's height. Anyway, I'm happy to see all objects being included. In all, the only missing character is the horse, but I guess that was expected.

As for the castle itself, it looks fantastic. The movie shows so many places that having them all inside the castle would be impossible unless the castle was huge. Having the ballroom and be our guest scenes taking most of the space, then a medium sized library and making Belle's room and the East Wing the smaller rooms make sense to me.

What do you mean the horse is the only missing character? There‘s a ton missing!!

  • Old Man (heeeeeeeee) and his alter egos Monsieur DuBleugh and Señor Moustache / Moustacheneezer
  • The 3 stupid ghosts that invade the story, yet are also a part of it
  • The Goomba warthog, echo voice garden weirdo, and weak lanky loser beast
  • Air head and her evil brothers and sisters
  • Clara the one-woman-band sorceress
  • Frenchstopher Lee and his minion, Monsieur Renard, aka the third brother, aka broken-neck guy

If you have no idea what I‘m talking about, let‘s say there might one or two (or 37) other animated adaptations of B&TB, most of which are very dopey :laugh_hard:

Seriously though, I‘m very impressed with this set! They managed to incorporate all the core locations combined with a very detailed exterior and included all the major characters  The only criticisms I have are the Beast‘s legpiece and some scaling inconsistencies, but I get that they wanted an easy way to change him into his human form, and the scaling is a compromise I‘m ultimately okay with.

Did we? In he end everyone has a different impression of the films and to me of all the films Disney made in the last time Raya is the one I liked the most. I hope they at least include her in the next CMF.

Just watched @Ashnflash 's video on Youtube ,, great video, but what I leanred from this and really like is that the red staircase section can be removed ( I'd seen that on some of the pictures, what I didnt realise is that it can be reversed so that when you look through the castle main doors from the front you would see the stairs going up. Probably not correct in the actual layout of the castle, but a nice touch none the less.

I'm already thinking of ways to add parts and perhaps improve things. A small gold dish under Lumiere will raise his height a little.

People wondering if Belle's blue dress might be in the wardrobe. It looks like it doesnt open and is brick built so I think that may be a no.

Your right! We're missing all chip's brothers and sisters.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just noticed there is a cupboard with them next to the kitchen.
