BrickBob Studpants Posted March 4 Posted March 4 I really like all of these sets! Some observations: Nice to see the new small dome piece from Friends in other sets, here being used in black for the Aquilops‘ claws! The minifig-scale Aquilops is just adorable! Pleasantly surprised we‘re getting the entire Delgado family The new velociraptor is a welcome inclusion, and featured in two sets even! Interesting that Bennett, Loomis, and Krebs are all featured in the two largest sets. WHERE‘S THE MUTANT? There must be a follow-up set next year then, even though they don‘t usually do that for JW. Rune Haako Posted March 4 Posted March 4 I really wish they would've made Zora's boat a little bigger. Quote
Bobdapeach Posted March 4 Posted March 4 (edited) Are we missing a set that could potentially really have the D Rex? I’m not on top of all the set numbers we can expect in saying that, all these are great. Only one I’m not sold on are the two brick built dinosaurs (Mosa and Aqu), will probably pick up those two sets at some stage tho if they go on sale / but just the way Aquillops is done, especially how it’s posed on the box art, it looks like a giant ground sloth?? The other sets are 10/10 tho! i really wanted the new Quetz Color scheme too but already have the JWD one so wasn’t planning on getting the set unless it was appealing, but I wanted the Spino so since it comes in that set, I’m very happy haha. T rex river set looks nice, but I know it’s going to be expensive. Do wish the Rex came in a different Color tho (edit: actually I think it is a new Color scheme, I just thought it was a repeat because it’s a cross of the common tan/gray and tan/brown Rex we’ve gotten ample times before?) Nice to see a new raptor mould, just wish it had some orange on it which we’ve seen from the leaked renders. Baby Aqullops is very cute, too! a bit sad to see they’re also not painting the claws of them anymore, so it anyone has any experience doing that themselves shoot me a DM because I’d love to know which paints to use! There's a chance the embargo is doing a good job of keeping the mutant hidden and it's just in a set we haven't seen yet. 1 hour ago, Rune Haako said: Yep, we really should've gotten him in the T-Rex & Gate set. Or in one of the Jurassic Park sets we got later on. He was in the sick triceratops scene. Quote

Dinobricks Posted March 5 Posted March 5 It wouldn't surprise me if 71 was a d rex set, as universal literaly struck down nearly every yt video with the recent toy leak. Also, surely there would be a set with more exclusive figures, but maybe I'm wrong. Quote

Lion King Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I had been away from this thread for couple of days and now I’m back. Where did you see those sets?! Quote
danth Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I'm always torn on Jurassic Park sets. I don't care about the Jurassic Park movies at all, and I really dislike big moulded dinosaurs. But the sets always have cool vehicles in good colors. Luckily they're doing more brick built dinos. I bought Baby Bumpy because it's freaking awesome. One of the new sets has a brick built alligator-like dino, so I might snag it. Also the new set with the small raptors has a great looking off roader. 15 minutes ago, Lion King said: I had been away from this thread for couple of days and now I’m back. Shiva Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Well, I do like all of those sets. Big dino's can't be cheap. What's the set prices again? Quote
Lion King Posted March 5 Posted March 5 42 minutes ago, imposter said: We are still missing the 7th set Huh? I think we will have six sets this summer. As we discussed - we have 9 sets this year. Two in January (already on shelves) and one will be out in March soon (T-rex fossil set0. So that’s six sets. 9 - 3 = 6 Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 5 Posted March 5 There‘s nothing pointing at the existence of a 7th Rebirth set While it‘s odd they omitted the mutant, we‘ve known for a while that we‘d get 9 sets this year and now we‘ve seen them all. 76971 is simply a skipped number. My guess is that they kept the mutant a secret for long enough that TLG couldn‘t design something in time. Maybe next year Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted March 6 Posted March 6 6 hours ago, Bobdapeach said: 76971 got “skipped” which is odd […] Skipping numbers is very common and happens to many themes. Sometimes it‘s because of cancelled sets, other times for unknown reasons Another set existing isn‘t completely impossible, but I wouldn‘t count on it. An embargo would only reduce the chance of descriptions and pictures leaking (though we‘ve seen with the Giganotosaurus set how „successful“ that can be), not hiding the existence of the set altogether Quote

If not D-rex will be alongside the Scorpius Rex 🤣 Quote

Anyways, i think Spinosaurus and Titanosaurus are what we waiting for (or maybe it’s just me while others are waiting for D-Rex). Unless D-Rex is more alien-y then it’s qualified for my space diorama, rather than an ordinary jungle one. Quote

I know you personally don‘t like the made-up dinos, but they are major antagonists so it does make sense to have them featured in sets The most surprising set to me build-wise is the Spino & Quetzal one. I never would‘ve expected an IJ-style booby-trapped temple to be featured in a JW set of all things Edit: The sets are up on s@h now and some can be pre-ordered! Yup just like i-Rex vs Ankyo or I-raptor manor sets! Strangely, they put Spinosaurus in that largest set! …. the boat set’s name is so weird. “Brick-build Mosaurus”? I man - we have bunch of baby dinosaur sets and they are not named “brick-build”. I guess kids will knw Mosasaurus is not molded by checking set name. Quote
Dinobricks Posted March 6 Posted March 6 We can now get some HD looks thanks to the official reveal. One key thing that Ashnflash noted was that the vehicles across the sets have numbered stickers, ranging from 1 to 8. However, we are missing vehicles 2, 6, and 7. (Don't quote me on the exact numbers.) This means that we will most likely get one or a few more vehicles. He also pointed out the motorbike in the titano set and the quad bike in the rex set may count as 2 of the missing numbers, but that would still leave 1 vehicle. Quote
