Appreciate that in the marketing and in-universe, Yelena and John have not gone by their codenames in the MCU, but I personally prefer to give superheroes and supervillains their codenames.  It's an intrinsic draw to the superhero genre for me and makes the characters feel more iconic.  It felt very weird seeing the Fantastic Four labelled as their civilian names on the new LEGO set rather than their codenames - even though they are all suited up.

Sure- I thought it was weird too with the F4. At the end of the day the reason I don't like White Widow or USAgent more than Yelena or John is just because I don't think White Widow's name makes any sense for the MCU character, and I just don't like John's codename. For codenames, I'd prefer if Yelena was just the new Black Widow, taking up her sister's legacy, and if John took the mantle of Nomad (because his government failed him twice) or Patriot (as a captain america type who can't be cap himself)

I think I've seen them usually be around $30-45 Canadian. It depends for some of the figures that come with larger items like the Green Goblin figure coming with his glider that bumped the price up to $45 or the Batman figure with the Batpod that retails for $90. But for just the figures themselves I think they've always been in the $30-40 range.

I still don't think a bigfig Thing would be size accurate as well and that Lego should put some effort in to make that Mr. Incredible video game torso piece a reality, but I'll take a bigfig comic Ben like the one from the Mission Demolition special until a new torso type shows up...someday.

So it's about the same as america, where the price is nearly doubled from 4 generic minifigures.

It would be too big, but the same is generally true of Hulk bigfigs. Since lego has never been super size-accurate, I'd prefer a bigfig to a normal fig, especially since, as you say, there isn't much of an in-between.

"default woman"

How did lego turn Felicity Jones's face into a "default woman" print? It's almost impressive. It rivals Paul Rudd having the same face as Tom Holland.

The MCU version of Ben is not large enough to justify a bigfig in my opinion. He’s slightly taller than his team mates, not Hulk-sized! A new torso á la Hagrid or Egmann might work, but I did NOT like the torso design they came up with for Mr Incredible in the videogame  Looks kinda ridiculous with the regular legs, like a walking croissant :laugh_hard:

*cursed LEGO abomination*

Wow, no offense to your photoshop skills, but I just realised how awful these kind of torsos are and how glad I am that Ben isn't using one.

I'm fully team minifigure. The only problem are the hands, which do not go well at all with the rocky structure of the head attachment. Should've been a new mould.

I argue this is true even of the comics. The only reason everyone has this idea that the Thing should be a big-fig is because of TT Games' over-eagerness to use bigfigs throughout LEGO Marvel Superheroes. While it does add to the play value, it's not at all accurate to the character. I could reference Marvel character height charts, several depictions of the Hulk towering head and shoulders over Ben, even just the idea that the Thing is a monster only for his rockish features, but a giant he is not.

The thing (haha) is comics have always had wildly varied size inconsistencies, and bigfigs are commonly used for characters that aren't really that much bigger than a normal person because at the end of the day lego proportions aren't the same as real-life ones. What I want out of my Thing figure is for him to size up against my Hulk figure and to look larger than the rest of the four, or have his accurate refrigerator width in a Rivals display. I'd have no issue with a minifigure thing also existing, but I want the option to have a bigfig.

They also make his proportions really strange, especially for a lego minifigure. He looks less like Thing and more like a guy wearing hulk hands.

Yay, I managed to pre-order the F4 set!

I get the difficulty regarding The Thing, but I believe ultimately minifig size is the most accurate, except the hands LEGO uses are still way oversized, which is a shame...

Fully agree.  I'm happy that we've got a minifig Thing version for the MCU film, however if we ever get comic based sets I'd like the Thing to be a bigfig.  That way both groups of fans will be happy!

So, with Iron Heart coming up, and a trailer now online...
Can we expect any sets based on it? Or at least some comic sets loosely inspired by it?
I know there were two minifigs of her in the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever line and that this is a D+ show, but since she's following in the footsteps of, generally, a very popular Marvel character, surely they might do something, at least?

I don't see it being any more likely than any of the other Disney+ shows, which only got a few What If sets and the CMFs. I don't expect Ironheart to be any different - it's far more likely Lego will want to invest in Doomsday and more established, Infinity Saga sets.

Yeah, I suppose that makes sense...
Oh, well, maybe there will be another Marvel CFM along the line and it could include an Iron Heart version :sweet:

Is it the prettiest solution? Hardly. But it's the best purist method I could find to give Ozempic Ben some desperately needed bulk and width since I'm nowhere near skilled enough to paint it, and bias aside, I've been warming up to how it looks. This Axl torso works the best compared to the other ones since those are in Silver/Flat Silver/Pearl Gold and this one is *technically* orange since the armor piece is in Bright Light Orange. Plus I'm using a little imagination to pretend it's shirtless Ben instead of the MCU sweater because I never like it when Ben gets a "costume" for his upper body.

I'd be fine with the minifigure route if he didn't look hilariously undersized when you put him next to any Hulk bigfig (unless you want to make it a fair fight and use one of the many Hulk minifigures). And at least with the Axl torso it gives him more of a height boost as well so while he's still smaller than a bigfig, it's more accurate to the comics where Ben is maybe a head smaller than the Hulk but still taller than the average person. I'll stick with my cursed abomination over Ben looking like he's wearing his own merch. Seriously, none of the Hulk minifigures were given these fist pieces in green, you really couldn't have given him regular Medium Nougat hands Lego?

We’re getting the Spiderverse series this year, so the earliest another Marvel series would appear is in 2027, and few people will care by then with all the Secret Wars and BTSV shenanigans going on that year

There's no way- I don't think marvel themselves have any faith in this show- as evidenced by the fact that they seemingly forgot to release a trailer until people started bringing it up- and none of the live action disney+ shows have gotten sets. If there's a marvel CMF series 3 maybe she and Anthony Ramos appear, but that's it.

As for her following on from a popular character, we've seen from Samcap that taking the mantle of someone people liked (even if it's someone who was generally liked taking the mantle) doesn't translate to success for the new version of the character, and IIRC Ironheart was always the least well-received of the ANAD replacements/legacies.

People aren't complaining about this enough- you all want to talk about lego being lazy? they were so lazy that they couldn't give thing the correct color of hands because they needed to reuse the exact same torso for human man, human woman, and a literal guy made of rocks. Ben is wearing gloves under his hands. That's a truly messed up Reed Richards experiment there.

If Secret Wars actually somehow manages to come out in 2027, it will possibly be the worst movie ever made.

You say that now, but when Ben Grimm shouts, "It's morbin' time," and Jared Leto cartwheels through a portal, you'll eat your words.

Oh, crud, I forgot Marvel CMF's only appear twice a year (at maximum) :sing: yeah, by that time no one will be thinking about Ironheart anymore...
