Although creatures are interesting, I'm more interested how they doo the viaduct bridge and how far they are willing to take this venture? Are we done after year three or are they doing the back ground with the bell tower and library wing.

I think a small set with Grubbly-Plank, with her, two students and an unicorn would fly off the shelves.

I've been advocating for an allowance-friendly unicorn set for ages, but LEGO refuse to make small sets girls would like. It's all Harry, Ron, Harry, Ron, Hagrid, Harry, spider-car-bike.

Both Potions and Duelling Club are retiring so I could see them just putting Snape in the next big section if it is COS as he would go with Draco and the Bloody Barron. Otherwise for lesser known teachers we still haven't got Bathshedba Babbling who whilst technically unnamed has been associated with a witch at the teachers table. Getting teachers that were maybe unnamed extras in the movies, but who represent book characters all helps to round out the scenes and world building for my collection in my head so I like it personally.

What makes you think girls would only like sets where girls are included?

People like to see themselves in the media/toys/etc... they consume.

Even beyond things like gender or race, a kid in a wheelchair probably is ecstatic to see a Lego sets that includes a wheel chaired mini-figure. Or those hearing-impaired a mini-figure with a hearing implant. Sure people will buy and want things that have different experience portrayed, but its not crazy to think people want to see themselves (or somebody they could be) in their toys.

I hope there will be a separate set with the whole First Task theme. lego already updated many old sets and made some new crazy stuff like Aunt Marge... I think they can totally do a new "minifigure scale" Hungarian Horntail.

I'm so sick of hearing "Girls should just like everything that's tailored to boys, and if you don't think so you are sexist". There's a reason Hermione is more popular with girls than Harry or Ron!

And it's especially hypocritical to bring that argument in the context of LEGO, given that LEGO even rebooted the Friends theme - their SOLE in-house theme where girls weren't marginalized - in order to include more boys. Because there were boys in the old Friends theme but they for once weren't the main characters so that needed to ve changed in the name of "fairness". Every other in-house theme gets aa token female character or two and that's it. Catering to boys is LEGO's default even though girls should make up 50 percent of its target group.

I gladly take any background teacher :) Grubby-Plank and Burbage would be cool. I could see Burbage in a little classroom for Muggle studies with stuff like a Rubber duck.

According to a Brick Tap member, next year‘s sets will come with collectable patronusses/patroni(?)! The Hospital wing comes with Lupin‘s wolf and the potion classroom with Hermione‘s otter ^^

I LOVE this. Since I've just come back to Lego there hasn't been any new Patronus molds and I've nearly bought old sets for those exclusively.

This also confirms the Hospital Wing is the third year with Lupin's wolf. Disappointed to get another repeat of that scene, but it was very likely.

Guessing the Patronus will correlate to figures included with the set. Lupin makes sense for the hospital wing, Hermione makes sense for the potions class considering that’s going to spiritually replace the existing potions class set with Hermione. Any sets where Luna and whatever character has a cat could fit?

Granted, we got three new animal pieces before thanks to previous patronusses/patroni, but I‘m not sure if any of the upcoming ones will require new pieces. Out of reusable moulds, we have a stag, an otter, a dog (likely a different breed since the terrier mould seems to be retired), a fox, a wolf, a goat, a cat, a hare, and a horse, which would already be plenty of options throughout the year! I‘d say the most likely new ones are a phoenix for Dumbledore, a swan for Cho Chang, or a doe for Snape.

Luna would be the Lovegood home most likely.

Cat is either Umbridge or McGonagall, so I'd guess a summer wave set. Maybe dreaming but we get a Ministry of Magic D2C with Umbridge and the court room scene. I don't think they are making the Patronus fit into the scenes, but you never know.

Edit: Forgot we are likely getting another McGonagall in the Sorting Hat ceremony set, so there is your cat.

Also, this is a really neat idea for an anniversary bonus! They‘ve already done golden minifigs in 2021 and special fan-requested minifigs à la Star Wars would have made little sense, given the extremely short list of missing characters. The only other route they could‘ve taken was reprints of the OG minifigs, but I‘m glad they‘re going with something more creative here!

Lupin won’t be in the Hospital Wing either — presuming this is the PoA scene instead of the CoS, he’d still be running around the grounds as a werewolf at that point. But he character is still so integral to that sequence of events that no one’s questioning why his Wolf would feature here, so Luna’s Hare coming with the Rookery makes perfect sense since it’s her home, even if we probably won’t get a Luna minifig in that set. 

Likewise, I expect McGonagall’s cat to feature in the Sorting Hat set because she conducts the sorting ceremony. 
 

If we see the same pattern as the golden minifigs from the 20th anniversary sets, then there likely won’t be patronuses in sets without minifigures, which means the Cornish Pixie and large sized Ford Anglia won’t have them, and I have serious doubts about the 18+ Collectors Edition as well. But that still leaves the Escape from Privet Drive set and the entire summer wave.

I'd argue this rumors makes it likely Lupin is in the Hospital Wing set but rather in his DADA classroom than in the Hospital Wing itself. How they fit the DADA classroom into what I expect will be a three story structure I don't know. That set should have 6 mini-figures. Harry, Ron, Hermonie, Pomfrey, Dumbledore and add Lupin to make it 6.

That being said a description of the Cauldron set leaked as well, so I'm assuming a description of the Hospital Wing set is not too far behind and all this guesswork will be over.

Well, of course not, and if we look through Lego´s recents minifigures, especially in the City and Friends lines but also CMFs, there are enough examples of this and even Harry Potter got a child in a wheelchair. And I am not saying there shouldn´t be more smaller Sets with Hermione or other female charcters, but to imply that girls would only like sets where girls are included is just wrong (and same goes for the other way around)

Well, who said that? All I said was that Girls can aswell like sets where just Ron and Harry are included - not that they should all like it. And it is not like they don´t do such sets, like Luna, Harry and the Thestrals, but I do think anyways, that they don´t decide which minifigures they want to include and then create the set, but the set first - and yeah, for the Motorcycle, Harry and Hagrid make sense, as well as Ron and Harry in the Ford Anglia - but honestly I would genreally prefer more other students, and less Ron, Hermione, and especially Harry, but that is another story.

Well, you brought that argument here, as only person, but tell me please, where on earth are female characters getting marginalized in the City theme? Also, no idea how much more boys are in friends sets now compared to before, but it is far from beeing 50-50. Also, wasn´t the argument that there were boys who liked friends too and they wanted to make the theme to look less like it was just made for girls? So basically the same you are complaining about what is missing in HP, just the other way around.

Well we won´t be getting new moulds for them (at least not for existing animals) so they could change the colour, maybe without glitter this time? Wouldn´t surprise me if it is just the same though.

The Hogwarts Icons Set included golden minifigures though, despite not having normal ones - so the PS Collectors Edition might still include one.

The Potions Classroom seems like a bit of a gimmick set but looks as though it could also be a good parts pack if you wanted to expand the existing potions classroom. I wonder if they might do more these with other classrooms. Like I could see them doing a Mandrake that reveals a Greenhouse or a Goblet that reveals a Transfiguration classroom or something like that.
