Well it means less money spent this year I suppose and they have got to find someway of keeping the theme going without waves of only repeats. It will either turn out cuteish or total nightmare fodder I think. Now can we have some more pictures of the new sets pretty please. Edited April 2 by BacktoBricks Quote
Tariq j Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I saw the name of the leak and excitedly thought it would be something OOTP based (like when they fly to the Ministry) guess not . Quote

Yesterday being April Fools means you get real leaks mixed in with fake leaks that sound real. But maybe only Star Wars really gets the fake leaks given how that community eats up leaks. It would be in line with last year, the $20 build-able Hedwig (Fawkes this year) and the $60 build-able Buckbeak, but seems odd to be a retail exclusive. Quote
krimimimi Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Where are you seeing the Thestral family information? I'm presently leaning towards April April joke. Quote
BacktoBricks Posted April 2 Posted April 2 From what I can tell the buildable Thestral family is said to be real and this year's Harry Potter Brickheadz are said to be Goblet of Fire based and Luna and a Thestral. Quote

Expand Yeah, but that piece count for a build-able creature seems really off. Buckbeak was 723 pices for $60, Expecto Patronum was 754 for $70, Horntail was 671 for $50, and so on. Maybe if they have cloth/paper wings I could see a higher price per piece count. Edited April 2 by Virginia_Bricks Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 2 Posted April 2 The GoF BH set sounds intriguing! My guess is the four champions in one of the task-specific outfits Or maybe they have costumes from different tasks. Luna and the Thestral are also good additions. Quote

Expand That's what I suspect, too. Must be the wings. Someone recently pointed out that the Fell Beast GWP for LotR is so expensive on the secondary market not because of its exclusive minifig but because of the beast's exclusive fabric wings, and that the new Smeagol GWP isn't expected to fetch the same sorts of prices despite having two exclusive minifigs. Then again, the Horntail had fabric wings, too, and that doesn't seem to have increased the price that much (it was a EUR 10 increase from Hedwig and Fawkes if I remember correctly, but still well below .10 per piece). But that was a couple of years ago and set prices have become more and more ludicrous lately. The GoF Brickheadz is 671 pieces according to the usual place. The Luna one is 292. (Most HP two-packs had around 260 though the closest comparison I can find, 40631 Gandalf and the Balrog, had 348 pieces.) 40677, the PoA Brickheadz, was 697 pieces for a five-pack, roughly the piece count of the GoF one, so I'm expecting five there again. Might be the Triwizard champions and someone/something else. Or if they want to go really dark, Harry, Cedric, Mad-Eye Moody, Pettigrew, and baby Voldy. :-) Edited April 3 by brickbride Quote
mark1991t Posted April 3 Posted April 3 According to jjpsleaksite on Instagram, the 'Chomping Monster Book Of Monsters' comes with a minifigure of Neville Longbottom. It also says that pictures are out already, if you know where to look, although I personally haven't seen them yet. Quote
mark1991t Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Found the book on Discord, 'The Brick Tap'. The minifigure (who himself isn't visible because someone put a beast on it) is holding a book that looks like the one from the cmf 2020, but darker. Quote

Expand That makes sense. Such a minor background character wouldn't be used as the sole minifigure of a set. So far all the background professors are only showing up in the big Hogwarts sets, surrounded by more iconic characters. Quote
mark1991t Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) cmf6169_news has a sketch of the new Staircase Tower online, aswel as a description and list of minifigs. Should also come with Fluffy. Quote A few updates for the summer sets 76454 hogwarts castle: The main tower (I tried my best to sketch it🙂↕️) The base is similar to the great hall The build includes the tower and the section on the right of it (see 3rd photo), a new fluffy mould and a harp build 12 minfigs: Golden trio Dumbledore Nearly headless Nick Kettleburn Percy Neville A slytherin quidditch player (maybe Marcus Flint) Three random students ( 3 houses except slytherin) 76445 hogwarts castle: herbology class The build is mostly in tan ,it loos more like two small hogwarts section (2021-2023) hinged in the middle with 4 large door frame pieces rather than a greenhouse ,the set have 3 large pots in the middle with the new mandrake piece and a recolour of the smoke piece from the poisons class to represent themimbulus mimbletonia and it looks to have a red flower and two tree builds in the set 3 minfigs: Professor sprout ( plain tan legs) Hermione in herbology outfit Neville in herbology outfit Expand Edit: Jedijacpenguin has a story on insta with a dumbledore quote ''It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends'' problably referering to Neville's outfit in the Main Tower being his pyjamas. JeanGreyForever Posted April 3 Posted April 3 The sketch looks good. Dumbledore's inclusion implies his office will be included after all. People were right about Percy being included. I wonder if Neville will come in his pajamas. Quirrell seems to be missing though. We saw him in the pics so wonder what set he'll show up in then. Seems like the Herbology classroom won't be an actual greenhouse which is a pity. Ferder Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Main tower looks just as I hoped it would, based off the silhouette released last year. The side section and tower area looks to be based off the Forbidden 3rd Floor Corridor but the inclusion of Percy and Nick make it likely that the Gryffindor Dorms are included too. I would how everything will fit. Quote

There should be a trapdoor there leading to the Devil's Snare in the rock foundation underneath. And the rest of the challenges will all be in the interior of the rock foundation. Since the base is similar to the Great Hall one, there should be space for three chambers, two large ones and one small one like the hallway in the Great Hall. There will probably be a staircase in the tower leading to the Gryffindor common room. I'm not sure if the dorms will be included. And above the Gryffindor common room will probably be Dumbledore's office but not sure if they'll include the griffin statue entrance or not. Hopefully they do. Quote

Expand I never doubted the office would be included, the top of the tower is just the perfect place for it and since the stairs wouldn´t go all the way up there anyways, including something else would have been a strange decision IMO. BrickMatit Posted April 3 Posted April 3 On Reddit there's also a partial image of Monster Book of Monster. Quote
Virginia_Bricks Posted April 3 Posted April 3 3 minifigures in Herbology is disappointing especially since Neville seems so popular this year. And that looks like +2 minifigures on the Main Tower vs Great Hall, but really confused on why a Quidditch player for a mini-figure. Quote

You don't have the most portrait filled area of Hogwarts without them, but I wonder how they will do it since clearly they aren't giving you enough for the entire staircase. Maybe 6 (1 more than the Great Hall). Quote
