Maybe it's just my gut feeling, but has stonewars ever reported something that is not accurate? I feel like they always wait until they have "internal cofirmation" for the news they put out.

Yeah they have, nothing that happens often but also nothing that never happened. In the end it is hard to tell from the outside if they have any own sources, since normally the infos they post were leaked by well known leakers and have been avaiable on sites like reddit before.

Yes, exactly! But I have a feeling, they never jump the gun and when they report these leaks/news in an article, they have been confirmed by their own sources. But that is just a guess of mine.

That makes me very upset((( I am disappointed to hear youre not going to pick up one of the pearls! You're one of the most active users in the pirates forums. Hope that doesn't mean trouble for the sales of the set as I quite want a dutchman :pir-grin:

Trouble for the sales you say? I seriously wonder how the Endurance is doing?

So far I never spent more than 150€ on a set and even that happend only four times or so. I didn't even buy the fantastic Mos Eisley Cantina or beautiful :pir-stareyes: Rivendell. The set I spend ~400€ on must be an absolute super-duper banger and I don't see this ever happening. From a 400€ set I expect 5000+ parts and not 2800 and at least 15, better 20+ minifigs. I don't want to dive too deep into the topic, but I watch a lot of reviews of pirate sets from other companies or Pantasy and Funwhole (now Lumibricks) sets in general and I don't think Lego is able to deliver the quality and quantity (parts, prints, lightning, etc.) I would expect from a 400€ set with the competition in mind. Spending 100€ and occasionally 150€ on plastic bricks... I already feel like an idiot , but 400€, I just can't bring myself to do it.

And, even more important. First and foremost I am a moccer. I build a set once, but often I don't even build a set and part it out straight away (like the two botanical sets i recently bought just for the parts, one of them being the insane 10348 Japanese Maple Tree. The palm finger leafs alone cost 27€ new at PAB). So I may build a set once and then take it apart after few days and use the parts for mocs. But a black ship... I am afraid most the parts would be useless for me. I know there were some black ships in history, but for me a Lego ship has to be brown! But enough of talking about myself :pir_laugh2:

I am happy for everyone who will enjoy the Pearl, but for me it is an easy pass. I am waiting for POTC 6 and hope we get a wave of playsets. Fingers crossed!

Seven minifigs indeed is lackluster and leaves a lot to be desired. Arkham gets 16 minifigs for 100$ less.

Anyway, for me the Pearl is an easy pass at this price point. And speaking as a moccer, the Black Pearl has one big disadvantage.... it's black! And who needs all those black pieces? :pir-grin: I would never build a all black ship anyway! I know the Black Pearl is an icon, but because of the color I would choose any other ship over it.

Agreed. And I like the imperial ships more then the pirate ships in this franchise

If there's one Lego set worth 400€ ,it's the Lion Knights castle.  4500 pieces,20 minifigs, 2 beautiful horse bardings, nice cloth flags and cape...

Unpopular opinion : The Black Pearl is actually an ugly ship. It has a nice shape yes but that's all it has. But that's just my opinion.

I do disagree but I'm sure our middle ground can be that the 2011 set was quite an awful one)))
