eldiano Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I at least want a decent minifigure line up with the Ship if they include them. Not 2-3 but at least 8. I sold my POTC sets when the prices were high and I regret ever doing it, I would love another chance at a different Black Pearl. Incidentally, the only POTC set I kept was the silent Mary which does me no good considering the fig scaling is off either way. Between this and the UCS rumored Death Star, they are milking me hard this year. Quote

If Lego are anything to go by with recents big models sets we get full crews/teams etc in the bigger UCS/D2C sets. Quote

For every example of a full set of figures, there is another with a surprisingly low figure count. The Endurance, Barad Dur, and half the Star Wars ones. You might also argue The Batcave shadow box, and Disney Castle. But I hope they'd do a full crew lineup given the desire for them and the lack of a full wave. Quote

I think the endurance is different though, it’s microscale, I would have been surprised to get any to be honest. To be fair in all Barad Dur isn’t low on minifigures, it dose include 10. Anyway here’s hoping for a solid line up Quote

They are extremely hard to accomplish out of existing lego parts. Even started buying lego customs from instagram to have their video game appearance)) Quote

But honestly you may laugh but my main minifigure (if you can say that) I’d like is Jack the Monkey.😂 Quote
RichardGoring Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Jack the Monkey would probably be pretty possible if they can print sufficiently on the current monkey mould. I think it would pretty well and has a similar cheekiness to some of Jack's poses. Quote

While I have a few figures I would prefer over Jack the Monkey if we had to wait 15 years and most likely pay $300+ for this set why not include him))) However imagine if they include Jack and then skimp out on Cotton's parrot. That would be hilarious Quote
kuzyabricks Posted January 21 Posted January 21 September release is being rumored by the leakers. I'm assuming 6+ months until pictures.... Hopefully a figure list sooner than that though Quote

We seem to get descriptions relatively early if I’m not mistaken so I could quite easily see us getting information regarding the build, figures and price within a month or so. Quote

cehnot Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Based on other mocs already i can see how a 3000 piece ship may be around 5 to 6 hull plates long and roughly 2.5 to 3 feet. Moc Your Bricks accomplishes this with 3217 pieces. The Barracuda Bay was 2545 pieces and that included an island. So it was roughly 2000 for the ship alone. The ship should invlude 2 decks. Even if they make a full interior on the gun deck level it would allow them to focus on a nice captains cabin and forecastle. My minifig list if they do the Curse.of the Black Pearl 1. Hector Barbossa and monkey 2. Jack Sparrow 3. Will Turner 4. Elisabeth Swan 5. Joshamee Gibbs 6. Ragetti 7. Pintel 8. Marty 9. Cotton 10. Bo'sun If they go with a general cast from the series i think they could easily fit a few of the other films 1. Bootstrap Bill 2. Govoner Weatherby 3. James Norrington 3. Mullroy 4. Murtogg 5. Lt. Gillette 6. Lt. Groves I think they easily could make it a 10 to 15 minifig set especially if they stick to the first film and focus on everybody except bootstrap bill. Am i missing anybody who should be made.as a minifig? I know there werre a ton of secindary characters on the Black Pearl, but i think hitting the ones we saw in almost every film would make the most sense. Quote
karrit Posted January 28 Posted January 28 We need Zoe Saldana's Character - Anamaria even though she was only in the first film. Scarlett & Giselle would be fun too but there are other characters that had bigger parts. Quote
Lion King Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Is it really going to e Lego Icons, not Lego Disney?? Quote

ForgedInLego Posted January 29 Posted January 29 23 hours ago, cehnot said: may be around 5 to 6 hull plates long Probably a good size estimate, but I doubt it will use those giant hull parts. The other Icons ships (Titanic and Endurance) have some pretty nice hull shaping using more or less standard parts which I think they will continue here. The bigger question is whether it will be a waterline model or fully keeled Quote

I think it’s beacuse it’s not like a full fledged theme if that makes sense. Similar to how LOTR started, I’m sure it will get its own category in a year or two when another ship and potentially sets release. Quote

Not really because this was released back in 2011 under the pirates of the Caribbean and it was under Disney back then also, not to mention they had their own line and icons is an excuse to reissue older sets with a reimagined build. I regret selling my old one, practically because I know for a fact we will never another Davy Jones figure ever again and that was one of my favorites hehehe I’m happy with any minifigure selection but I hope they use “gold Ink” and yellow chrome on gold pieces Quote

Not sure why they‘re releasing it this year, but I couldn‘t be happier about it! All of my favourite theme from the late 2000‘s / early 2010‘s had a comeback recently, first HP, then LotR, Indy, and now PotC So many gaps we can finally close! Quote

I think it’s a given that they will do the Flying Dutchman you know, it is a set that never got made the first time round and is arguably more anticipated that The Black Pearl, after all Lego Ideas got 10K votes on it fairly quickly. I think the only reason they aren’t doing it first is because they need the ‘good guys’ ship to kick off the theme and it’s been in all five movies (technically in some form in the 4th) Quote

I'm still salty about the Silent Mary not being full minifigure scale, however I want to see an Icons Version of the Dutchman and Queen Anne's Revenge, they are just so legendary. I miss the old POTC. I got rid of my line up but kept the silent mary just for capitan salazar and jack sparrow's figure. It's sad that I took the lines for granted back then lol. Quote
karrit Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I was poor/in debt back then so I couldn't bring myself to spend the money on any of the POTC sets. My only POTC stuff was a few of the original Mega Blocks playsets back before LEGO got the license. Quote
