A greebled logo could go either way. I don’t really collect logos, so I probably wouldn’t get it regardless, but still. I always thought the logos for The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie would be cool sets, so maybe this’ll turn out to be partway there.

For the Batmobiles, part of me is happy we’re finally getting Clooney. If they’re only doing live-action Batman, then he fits.

But let’s put more than one minifigure in each set. Please. They literally chose both of the live-action Batman movies that have other characters in the titles (I am counting BvS as a Batman movie). If no-one else is included, they might as well market the upcoming polybag as being from the new Batman/Deadpool comic.

Horrible news, all Batman mini figures make most of these sets pointless. We can all make a Batman logo on our own without paying $80. I might buy one of the batmobiles so the size fits better with my in progress Lego Gotham City but that’s it.

Could it? I just don't see it. It's not big enough to be something like the build for TLBM, a greebled lego batman logo isn't

I guess I'm too optimistic for it looking cool, but I made a quick, yet shitty and out of scale edit of what it could look like:

I'm expecting 90% of the build to go towards the logo where it would be a smaller version of like the one in TLBM marketing, but again, that's probably me being too optimistic.

I feel like it will be a divisive set at best.

Good mockup, but unfortunately 1000% better than what lego will actually make.

The biggest issue is, as you say, scale. The gargantuan scale is the only reason that the TLBM logo being greeble works, in my opinion. Scaled down to $80, for a licensed theme, in 2026... it's gonna be rough. (And unfortunately even with the figs- I'd be shocked if we got a chrome gold batman, it'll most likely be pearl gold. Frankly I'm surprised we're even getting a gold cape and gold recolored helmet.)

The gold batman in the logo clearly implies this is meant to be some sort of anniversary or celebration, but it feels so tone-deaf for what a sorry state the theme's in. 20 years of lego batman is right- it's just sad he lost all his friends- and now even his foes- along the way.

We were laughing at all the Batman vs. Joker sets, so they started making ones with only Batman.

To be honest though, I prefer having three unique Batmen over the three almost identical Batmen and Jonklers we got in 2023 :snicker:

Sure, but my point is that now we're getting nothing besides Batman. Those waves were focused on, for example, Batman '89, and so it made sense to include only one Batman.

Did I like it? Hell no. But this situation isn't any better. Well, at least we're getting Battinson with dual-moulding...

The 2023 ones were bad but didn't they have to scramble because of Ezra, since one of them would have had The Flash?

Are those movie titles going to be part of the set name? As a casual customer, if I buy a "Batman vs. Superman Batmobile" I'd at least expect it to come with Supetman. The same for "Batman and Robin".

It's Batman. Brooding alone in his cave is what he does. The fact that LEGO has him celebrate his birthday year with a gold statue of himself but no guests seems unintentionally hilarious to me.

Much like Red Guardian telling the Thunderbolts that they can be the next team with the little kiddie toys, and LEGO not giving their movie even one set.

I just realised this and don't know if anyone has noted this, but the minifigure selected for Arkham jumpsuits in the latest Arkham Asylum set leaves no repeats from previous normal Arkham Asylum sets (with the exception of the Joker, presumably as you can't produce an Arkham Asylum set without Batman's most iconic rogue).   Here are who appears in Arkham jumpsuits in each normal set:

  • 2013: The Joker
  • 2017: Catwoman, Riddler, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, (and Joker)
  • 2025: Bane, Killer Croc, Penguin, Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Penguin, (and Joker)

Perhaps this explains why only Catwoman, Riddler, Poison Ivy are in their villainous customes, and Two-Face wasn't included at all.  Just an observation.

Lego seems determined to learn the worst possible lesson from everything, but at this point, down to just batman and batmobiles, the only option left is "DC just doesn't sell, scrap the theme"

I don't know. Without context, I could see it being better for collectors (but much worse for kids), but in the context of this being all we're getting, I think moving from 2 characters to literally one character is pretty concerning.

Yup, the $48 batmobile would have been called "flash tracking" and included Miller Flash and potentially supergirl. Too bad Ezra decided to treat the Hawaiian penal code as a checklist.

Because of that, I really hope they will be. I want lego getting hundreds of calls from confused parents of upset 6 year olds.

This is a good point, lego will never show this in their little animations they do, but batman brooding in his cave with a statue of himself along for his birthday is very on-brand.

I'm still mad about that. Lego forced my hand into buying a Funko Pop of all things just so I could get some John Walker merch.

The idea of a gold Batman minifigure reminds me of the minikit build from the very first level of the first LEGO Batman video game. Probably just a coincidence, but I still think it's sort of neat.

Marvel Legends John Walker and Sentry 2 pack is amazing

I really wanted a Black and White 06 Two-Face figure, oh well

I've been eyeing it at my walmart, but while the $50 value seems there, since I don't collect many action figures and would probably just give Sentry to my brother, I'm waiting to see if they put them on clearance.

The concept of gold batman is pretty cool, the issue is just that we're now only getting batman. Ideally gold batman would be in a Justice League set or something, not alongside... another batman and batman's chest symbol.

Unibricks is saying we’re getting official pics for the sets on the 9th. I was expecting next year in January or even late December, but I’m not complaining at all. I guess it’s because New York Comic Con is this weekend, so they’re going to be showing them off there.

I’m liking them revealing sets at comic cons again, takes me back to the early days of the theme. I hope we get another trailer or gameplay for Legacy of the Dark knight as well

Sounds to me like LEGO Batman has gone with the Speed Champions-model; that is, include one very good minifig with one very good car at around $20-30. I definitely would prefer a secondary character—and with the PpP of, say, the BvS-mobile, I’d say they should’ve—but I’ve always preferred the idea of doing one thing really well instead of underperforming on a lot of things. Not to suggest the designers have ever been lazy (they are put in their best effort on intentionally messing up clones, lol), but that the mystical “budget” they face means that the little we get will be the best it can be. Similar to the approach with the Benatar, Milano, or AoU Quinjet. Of course, I can only speak in hypotheticals until, hopefully, tomorrow.

I say all of that and now I fear I’m becoming a LEGO apologist. Uh, uh, we must get TAS-style Two-Face next year or the LEGO House burns! Getting a Batman 5 Superman set without Soups is outrageous—it’s unfair! LAN members suggesting DC fans buy a Marvel set to complete Killer Croc is unthinkable!  Send in the Blacktron forces! (Woah woah, I went too far. Must remember the steps… right, I heart M-Tron.)

I’m looking forward to seeing whether or not LEGO Batman Legacy comes with a pre-order exclusive minifig. That might compel me to buy after all—despite me not owning any of the platforms to which it’ll publish, lol. The gameplay and added difficulty levels are sweet, even if the lack of characters is not so.

LEGO should just make an Absolute Batman set if they love him so much. At least comicbook fans will be happy.

Buildable Bane, whatever. Killer Croc. Give me his humongous car. I'll eat anything up.

Bane, Croc? You'll get Absolute Batman (The same as the other Batmen with a different torso) and purple Absolute Batman

If that’s true, there’s a good chance we get some leaks today. :look:

I’m very curious to see the BvS Batmobile and whether or not it’s an improvement on the (IMO already stellar) 2016 model.

Ohhh, exciting! :excited: I miss the times when they actually revealed new sets at toy fairs and conventions! I even have nostalgia for the dreaded SDCC/NYCC exclusives, but please don’t ever bring those back, reveals will suffice :snicker:

Great to hear these will be revealed tomorrow. I’m still holding out hope there’s more to the Battinson figure than just dual-moulded legs (I will of course be proven wrong in short order).

Wish granted. It no longer has dual-molded legs and instead is a reprint of the 2021/22 figure but with the newest cowl type.

Thank you! :) We will see tomorrow what the set looks like, but I appreciate the fact that my shitty quick mock up might look better than the actual LEGO Set. :iamded_lol:

Would you all accept this potential monkey's paw that I made up?

We get a set with Supergirl (her vs a Lex Mech) and the Clayface and Comic Two-Face minifigures in a D2C BTAS Batmobile in 2026, and in 2027, we get ONE Man of Tomorrow Set and 2 sets based off The Batman Part II.

BUT

2027 is the last year of LEGO DC, and Mattel starts making DC sets in 2028.
