You’re talking about Atrocitus and Black Hand right? I wouldn’t say they are exactly well known characters, at least not compared to Sinestro.

Hard agree.

I know I’ve said this a lot, but a Guy Gardner GL vs either Sinestro, Cyborg Superman, Braniac or Zod mech next year would do absolute wonders as multi-media tie in. (Superman, Lanterns, My Adventures With Green Lantern, DCKO…) Make it a bit more expensive than a standard mech to allow for an additional Hawkgirl minifigure, dual moulding for Guy’s boots, Bd’g/ Ch’p or Dexstarr, extra parts for customisation etc…

 

GL is one of the few heroes where a mech makes sense. I beg that Lego does one at some point.

Gunn just announced ‘Man of Tomorrow’ for 2027, looks like we’ll get a second attempt at Superman sets. I do feel like this time we’ll get some. Also got the Batman part 2 that year. I can feel the tide changing everyone, long have we waited!!!!

Interesting. So I guess he was lying when he said it wasn’t a sequel. Unless it’s a Lex/Superman team-up film, although that still sounds like a sequel to me.

Regardless, exciting news, and hopefully we’ll actually get sets this go around.

edit: One of the main characters is in a giant mech. Our odds are looking pretty good.

Great. Glad to see we’re getting a sequel so soon. I wonder if any other heroes will be brought into the fold this time, or will it just still be the Justice Gang? My predictions if any are Martian Manhunter, Superboy, Steel and/ or John Stewart. Stewart was supposed to be in the DCEU Man of Tomorrow so it would be hella funny. And would make sense if Braniac is the villain (a extraterrestrial threat is only logical reason as to why Lex and Soup would team up)

Fingers crossed for some sets, but I’m still sceptical about the DCU getting sets after they ignored Soup this year. Then again, if Across the Spider-Verse can get a set and a CMF series two years after the fact with its gross of $690 mio, I don’t see why Soup with its expected ~620 mio gross shouldn’t

Aaron Pierre did comment on Gunn’s post announcing this, which may be a hint he’s gonna be in it.

Martian Manhunter and Brainiac would both be cool.

Superman proved that it can be a successful franchise, so I don't think LEGO will omit it once more. I'm sure we'll get at least a single set for it.

You underestimate them. Remember that these are the people who made a rocket raccoon mech- not a groot build in the mech system with rocket riding it, a big mech body with a racoon tail, and who made mechs for Hulk, Thor, and to my count at least 5 spider-men by next year, but haven't done Peni. They're the people who gave Soup a mech to bully an unpowered human.

I'm guessing our next mech is either the Jonkler or Harley (if they can bring themselves to do a villain one) or just another Bat-Mech.

This makes me wonder if things like a Groot mech or Lex mech were even considered as more thematically appropriate, or whether the Lego Superheroes team literally just decided to make mechs of Rocket / Supes etc. with no further thought.

If John Stewart and Guy Gardner are both in MoT. I pray that Gunn’s written a parody of the “you’ve got to do better” speech from TFATWS where John calls out Guy for being Maxwell Lord’s corporate stooge.

I also would be happy if their chemistry was like it was in the New 52 GLC run.

Man I hope not. That speech is what turned me against Falcon as Cap (Not that it should have gone to bucky, who also got assassinated in that show by constantly looking for a reason to jump John.). "You can't call the woman actively killing innocents and saying Lemar's life didn't matter a terrorist, you guys have to do better" "But this is complicated, what about the people who came back from the snap to find someone else moved into their home?" "I don't care, do better." 

Jon could do a very solid, military discipline style verbal beatdown on Guy just of "You're a space cop. Act like it. Stop working for a tech company."

For soup, I assume it's because hero vehicles tend to preform better than villain ones, and lego has so little faith in anything not batman from this theme that they wanted to maximize it's chances.

For rocket, I have no idea. I really hope SOMEONE on the design team thought "Hey, rocket's known for riding on the shoulder of a large figure, what if the mech was a groot?", but then again, I wouldn't say they're known for good choices. Maybe there's some stipulation that the mechs have to have the character fit inside the cockpit?

Peacemaker's essentially just become DC deadpool, I doubt we ever see him. Especially because there's not any relation to the Bat-family.

My thing is just if you're parodying it, assumably the parody would be about how bad of a speech it is and how bad it makes Sam come off, where Jon has a pretty valid reason to crash out on Guy being a tech guy's goon instead of his space cop job. You want Jon to come off as right, whereas the TFATWS speech mainly elicits violent cringing.

Ok, I get the point you are trying to make here- there's not really a connection between captain falcon telling a senator the terrorists are the good guys because he hasn't solved politics yet and architectural space cop telling guy to stop working for Zuckerberg- but in the particular example you chose I think the only reason Spider-man's escaped that exact scenario is he doesn't live in the midwest. If the writers have the ability to kill one of his loved ones in a way that inflicts maximum trauma, they will. We live in a world where his biggest 616 win in YEARS is telling MJ and Venom that they deserve eachother.

I’m honestly surprised that Lego’s done a not actually that shabby job of inadvertently tying in with DC:KO in this year’s sets. They’ve released 6/32 of the contestants as minifigs. Approximately 18.75% of this year’s comic event’s headline characters. Compare that to Absolute Power’s mere 10% of Lego’s tie In minifigs (just Batman) from last year, things are looking brighter for the theme.

And let’s not forget that is still 600% the number of minifig tie ins that Thunderbolts received this year, and that was a MCU movie. (Just Bucky)

I’d argue it’s in a much better position compared to the last few years ^^ Sure, that’s a low bar to clear and it’s still mostly Batsy, but we got our first Soup set in quite some time and our first DC modular!

Fully prepared to have pie in my face but these are utter nonsense. We don’t get minifig leaks same time as set leaks. Every fake leak is always this is set name with all minfigs included. When in reality it’s name and nothing known about what’s included in set, too much info for a March wave

The list is totally fake but Batwing being the guy to get re-used from Arkham would be so on-brand for lego DC. None of the villains, especially not anyone who needed a new torso print to have a non-jumpsuit version, but everybody's favorite bat-family member, Batwing, we gotta make sure kids can get him.

Batwing is so popular half the forum mistook him for Batman when he was first leaked and the other half continued mistaking him for Batman for another two weeks afterwards.

The set designer for Arkham said that two face was originally planned, but was later swapped out, but he also said that they are not done with the two face hair piece.
