Lion King Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I wonder if there will be a 18+ minifigures-scale set with minifigures like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy while there are a few new molds like Bowser, Yoshi, etc. I mean, I am not totally into buildable characters like Mario or Stitch and Simba from Disney. The only other Mario sets that have been around that price so far are 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System and 71411 Mighty Bowser. Both are obviously retired now, so there is a gap for a set at that price point. After last year’s awesome Game Boy, are we going to get a Super Nintendo? Or another big buildable figure like Bowser? Maybe the Lion Knights and Disney castles retiring means LEGO sees a gap in a larger castle set, and we could finally get a minifigure-scale Princess Peach castle? Quote
Lyichir Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Luigi is definitely cool to get if these rumors are true, though another standard kart is less exciting than if it had been a different kart or bike. Still curious whether there will be any Mario Galaxy related sets to tie in with the movie putting it back in the spotlight. A Comet Observatory set could be very cool. Quote

Lego posted a teaser for the Mario Kart 8 D2C, and while it has a brick-built Luigi as reported it also seems to have the Mach 8 kart with Slim tires instead of the Standard Kart that some of the rumors assumed. Should make for a much more interesting set (a Standard Bike could've been another cool iconic option, but presumably because it's another kart Mario and Luigi can be swappable since they'd be in the same seated position).
