I agree with Bloquerto, I think the only way a LEGO Toon Link works for Nintendo is with a molded head. You’re forgetting one “near-human” we know is getting a molded head: Mario. The Ocarina and Breath of the Wild Links are both realistically proportioned, so the regular minifig fits them. But Toon Link, like Mario, is exaggerated and cartoony. I think Nintendo would only approve his design as a minifigure if it had a molded head like Mario. I bet means we’d probably only get Link from Wind Waker and no other figures. Even if he had a regular minifig head, Toon Link’s hair isn’t parted down the middle, so he would need a new hair/hat mold.

I agree. We already got an Ocarina of Time set this year that keeps that Link minifigure accessible (and introduced a new Zelda and Ganondorf). My guess is that they’ll want another Breath of the Wild set to keep that version of Link around now that the Deku Tree is retiring (or retired, since it seems to be sold out). Then classic/modern fans each have a set to get “their” Link. Besides, Nintendo and LEGO haven’t really been coordinating their marketing around game or movie releases for Mario, Zelda or Animal Crossing sets. I don’t think Nintendo lets LEGO in on any upcoming game releases with enough time to develop sets on them. So at best we could expect something based on this new Ocarina of Time remake in like 2-3 years. Kind of like the Mario Wonder set we got in that line years after the game.

Yes, I think they’re the same as the original Disney World Castle set? Or near-identical, at least. There’s currently no Parks version of Mickey and Minnie in a set, so that makes sense to include them. Edit: the mini Disney World Castle still has the Mickey with eyebrows, but the less said about that design the better, in my opinion!

Agreed we’ll know for sure soon, but to my eyes they’re clearly on 16x32 baseplates. They’re obviously on baseplates, but does LEGO still make any baseplates other than 16x32, 32x32, or 48x48? I think it’s a poor angle because the Fire Station technically doesn’t connect to the Emporium, so they’re trying to depict the actual placement. My initial reaction was that it felt too colorful, but after looking at pictures of the real Main Street, I think they did a good job. Main Street is more color than I remembered. I agree that it feels a little too detailed, or the pieces they used were too big for the finer details they were going for, so I might have to modify it a little eventually. And I agree that more Disney characters would’ve gone a long way (Mary Poppins and Bert, come on!) but enjoy the tourists. Ive been using 3D-printed Mickey ears and some “illegal” balloons using glued pieces. They got the job done, but I’m excited for these official parts. I don’t see a churro, though. That’s criminal. Edit: Seeing the additional pictures and the interiors are great! I spy in the Emporium mini builds of a Disney castle, train, and It’s a Small World. Are they hinting at the next Parks set…?

I think the set looks nice, and I think the comments I’ve seen about “where are the 4,000 pieces” will make more sense once we can see the interiors? Hopefully? The overall negative response to this set has me confused though. Did people really expect 3 fully-enclosed Modular’s? I think the angle of the photo is making them look more thin than they are. That said, they’re still thin/facades, but so is Diagon Alley? The Disney train station is maybe a little deeper on one side, but most of it is maybe 10 studs deep. I feel like I’m unique in that I prefer to have open back sets so pieces can be used elsewhere, as most of my sets will be up against a wall/shelf anyway, not viewed from 360-degrees. Personally, that’s also why I’m glad it’s not both sides of the street. With both sides, you’d be looking at the backside of at least half of Main Street. I know I’m probably the target audience for this though. There are plenty of other sets I think look boring that other LEGO fans drool over, so I’m glad the shoe is on this foot now. The new molds and exclusive prints for shirts are enough for me to get this day one, and I can keep expanding my Disneyland entrance to my custom Sleeping Beauty castle.

My theory is that because the actual Disneyland Main Street has been behind scrims getting refurbished for a little bit, LEGO hasn’t had a chance to take promotional images of the set in front of Main Street, so the reveal is going to be last-minute.

Really going to have to see this set to know if it’s worth getting. Total first world problem, but I have four 48x48 baseplates in my office that have a customized Disneyland entrance (with flower bed, tunnels, train station, and train) and I rebuilt the newest Disney World castle into Sleeping Beauty’s with a moat and entrance into Fantasyland. But adding Main Street just means devoting so much space to Disneyland…

As someone who’s been playing Animal Crossing since Gamecube, I agree that they capture the aesthetic of the games well. My only complaint has been the bases, as I’ve rebuilt/moved the sets to regular baseplates to create an island. I’ve ended up with quite of a few of those rounded corner plates that I don’t know what to do with. Wish they had just gone with standard plates. I’m guessing the Mario minfigure sets will use those same plates, as LEGO seems to like the “level-building” approach for Animal Crossing and Mario.

Whatever the Animal Crossing set is this year, I imagine it will include Isabelle. Both sets she was in have retired, and we got Tom Nook again this year after his set retired. As a fan, I’ve loved the theme, but I bought a few sets on release day only to see sales later. So now I’m just holding out for the museum to get a good discount this Fall/Winter. I wouldn’t be surprised if other people are doing the same. It’ll be a shame if the theme ends and we never get some of the must-have characters present on every island, like Timmy, Tommy, Sable, etc.

This would be the perfect set! They fit perfectly on Main Street. Disney Parks fans have had it pretty good, though. The list of Disney characters that appear often enoughin the Theme Parks as walk around/meet and greet characters but that also do not have LEGO minifigures yet is getting really short. Here are gaps I can think of: - Pluto (in theme park form) - Mary Poppins and Bert - Max Goof - Clarabelle - Pete - Baloo and King Louie - Merlin - Anastasia and Drizella (Cinderella’s step-sisters) - Country Bears - Mirabel - Merida - Joy and Sadness - Figment Would be great to check off more of these and get more cast members like the Haunted Mansion, but pretty good!

Definitely not going to be full modulars. If it’s minifigure scale, I imagine it’ll be like Diagonal Alley/Hogsmeade with 16x32 baseplates and open-backed buildings. But the Disney Castles and Train Station didn’t use baseplates, so they could also approach it with regular plates like the play scale Diagon Alley and Marvel small modular street. That way it could just focus on the buildings and let people arrange them. With maybe a horse and carriage. Either way, I’m more interested in the exteriors of the buildings and they can make the interiors shallow. Just curious how much of the street they’ll make. Will it include City Hall and the Opera house? Anything from around the hub? Expecting them to make the partners statue a GWP…

As a Disneyland fan, I much prefer Main Street to an 18+ set based on a single film, so very happy at this news. Have they confirmed whether it’s minifigure scale or microscale? I could see both working like the Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade sets. Crossing fingers for minifigure scale to go with the train station.

Are there rumors of a large ($300+) Disney flagship-type set coming this year? I agree that having Sleeping Beauty’s Castle would be great (even if I bought the newest Cinderella castle and moc’d it into Sleeping Beauty already). But I wonder if the sales of the newer castle have made them hesitate to release yet another similar castle. I wish they would make more micro scale park icons like the Haunted Mansion. I’m struggling to think of flagship Disney sets that wouldn’t be too niche. They could do a ride that’s generic enough for other uses. Like a new Ferris wheel (Pixar Pal-A-Round) merry go round (King Arthur Carousel with the sword in the stone) or a functional teacups ride.

I think the lack of 2026 Mario sets/upcoming retirements was pointing toward some sort of shift in the line. So glad it’s to minifigures! The current digital figure line mostly was inspired by the 2D platforming games (with some Luigi’s Mansion, Donkey Kong, and Mario Kart). I’m assuming LEGO won’t want to just repeat the same sets but now in minifigure scale, so I wonder if the minifigure sets will take more cues from the 3D games?

Could “P” be Portal? Since we had the LEGO Dimensions pack, it would technically be returning. And a one-off set would make sense for Portal. Edit: Also makes sense Shrek was known early since the new movie was delayed. They probably started the licensing/set design/etc much earlier compared to the movie’s release now.

100% agree. I’m very curious how Nintendo will handle licensing of their first live action movie generally. Will we get action figures that resemble the actors? Or toys that lean on the closest game design to the movies? LEGO’s contract was likely just for the game series. I could see them expanding the deal to make a dedicated movie-based line. But I could also see them arguing the movie is risky. LEGO seem less interested in making direct tie-ins for new movies, even for properties like Marvel, DC, Indiana Jones, etc.

I love it so much! Pretty much no complaints. People can keep their $650 Pokemon sets, LEGO can give me all the Zelda scenes at this scale and quality they want. I’ll be there day one.

are we getting another 18+? That’s somewhere around $250-$260 in US dollars, right? The only other Mario sets that have been around that price so far are 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System and 71411 Mighty Bowser. Both are obviously retired now, so there is a gap for a set at that price point. After last year’s awesome Game Boy, are we going to get a Super Nintendo? Or another big buildable figure like Bowser? Maybe the Lion Knights and Disney castles retiring means LEGO sees a gap in a larger castle set, and we could finally get a minifigure-scale Princess Peach castle?

Oh, please be book ends with Pooh stuck in Rabbit’s door split across each side! Realistically, that probably wouldn’t work with a minifigure. I can’t remember how tall the Villains set is, but book nooks/bookends could also be used with the right DVDs/blu-rays instead of books.

I feel like LEGO probably wants to go in a different direction than Mega if only so they won’t have direct comparison to a rival brand’s sets. That doesn’t mean we’ll get minifigure sets, of course. In my opinion, I think people should prepare to see something more like the Mario line with digital figures. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a pokeball starter set that works like the Mario figures. And you can scan Pokemon to capture them, and then fight with other people using their digital pokeball, etc. And then an 18+ set that is something like a buildable Pikachu.

Yep! Both Fateful_04 and TandNBricks are saying it, now with a set number and early next year. Supposedly D2C, so not a playset. ^ All with a grain of salt of course. Wish we had more details, but the wait for the Deku Tree was also agonizing since we had pictures leak so early.

No argument here! I hope they make more smaller sets, but they must see Zelda as more like Lord of the Rings for now? Maybe once the movie comes out we’ll get a line of playsets scale sets. (I doubt they’d be based on the movie since LEGO did nothing for the Mario movie, but maybe that’ll be be justification for making non 18+ sets?) Agreed there is so much potential. And since I’ve played almost all the games, I’m only biased in that I want sets of them all! But while I’d love to see Skyward Sword, Wind Waker, or Twilight Princess get sets, my guess is they’ll stick to Ocarina and Breath of the Wild for now to get both classic and modern fans at once. If we don’t get Ganondorf, I hope we at least get a minifigure enemy next time around.

Just a Christmas Tie Fighter I would bet that LEGO will keep Zelda as a 2-in-1 approach with Ocarina of Time (for nostalgia) and BotW (for modern fans). They could keep it going for years with so many locations reoccurring in the game series. Some ideas: - Lon Lon Ranch or BotW Stable - OoT Temple of Time or BotW Temple of Time - OoT Hyrule Castle or BotW Castle Ruins - OoT Kakariko Village or BotW Impa’s house Whatever they do next, I hope we get more characters as minifigures.

On Instagram TandNbricks is teasing Zelda returning in 2026. Last year they correctly teased Simpsons, Pokemon, Horizons Zero Dawn, and Lord of the Rings for 2025. They wrongly teased Indiana Jones and Endor Master Builder Series. So, take that for what you will. But hopeful we get more Zelda.
