Picked up my copy at the Post Office yesterday after there was a delivery issue on Wednesday. I received my PAB order yesterday as well with a few more of the green torsos used for the Imperial Guards in the set. Was there any mention of what faction/country they intended for them to represent?
 

Probably won’t be able to work on it this weekend with getting ready for the holiday, but hopefully on one of my off days next week.

My set just arrived this week.  Per USPS lable created on 11/11, they recieved package on 11/17 and delivered 11/22.  In USA.  Looks like a fairly sizable box, going to take awhile to build.  Box to big to hide from my wife....

I built this last week and really enjoyed the build. The set looks bigger and more substantial in person than I was expecting.
I had to make a couple of tweaks to deal with my OCD. I found another paddle to add to the set from my spare parts. With the sails of the boat unable to unfurl, I felt that oars were the only way the boat could move around the harbour.
I couldn't live with only one clip holding the door in the psychics house. I took the clip from the broom and a couple of other bits from my spares that were the right colour and shuffled a few bricks to give the door a second clip.
Still considering what to do with the balconys that are only accessible from outside. Might be a job for another time.
Overall, I really love this set, the look, scale and presence are great and wish there were more like it for a pirate era township.

Now that Bricklink announced that they have some leftovers from series 3, do you think we will get some extra copies of this set at some point in the future?

Question to the owners of this set - what are your feelings about The Thieves of Tortuga, one year later?

I have just finished building it today. I agree with most of the details mentioned by dilligan above.

It is a truly beautiful set, packed with details. It is also really large so check if you can display it. Mine sits next to my Barracuda bay and I'm in love with both of them.

I would have loved to get officially designed minifigures for it, but the selection fits well. 

I had hesitated a lot to pull the trigger due to its price, but I'm happy to have bought it. It brings fresh air outside of the usual forts, islands and ships.
