Yeah exactly, what I thought too. I´d rather gather more peasants honestly, but I guess better than nothing, and there are surely people that can use it anyways.

1. Like the MTS was teasered with words in the instructions of the LKC, there was a hint towards a knights' tournament in the instructions of the MTS.

2. Lego released two retro Castle sets with an interval of two years, so this year should be the next one.

3. There had been two throwbacks to Castle sets in the Icons theme in the last years: a castle and a town square. So what's missing? A village and a tournament. Village buildings would be too close to the cheese dairy in the MTS - so consequently a tournament is the most likeky.

It could be some re-design of past tournament sets, e. g. 383, 6060 or 10223. I personally hope that there'll be a building included, too, to add it to the MTS.

I hope you are right however I have not heard anything that support that so far:sceptic:
If we follow the Castle, Space and Pirates rotation of Icons retro sets it is suppose to be Pirates next. However according to the latest leak there could come a Space set in September (not sure if its a retro set). With the short shelf like the latest retro sets have had I suppose we should be happy if they continue to make them at all:def_shrug:

Some updates: in less than 12 hours, PAB supply for Griffin and Kraken figs seems to be pretty well exhausted.

I thought I’d share some prices (listed in USD) as I already made the list for myself anyway:

Kraken:
Torso: $1.25
Legs: $0.70
Shield: $2.34
Brown Viking Helmet: $0.82
Pirate Cutlass: $0.16 BS
Mini Mask No. 1 Earth Green: $0.14 BS

Griffin:
Torso: $1.25
Legs: $0.70
Shield: $2.34
Dark Knight Helmet Silver: $0.82 BS
Mini Short Sword Silver: $0.16

(BS meaning Best Seller; if you’ve ordered from PAB before, you understand the importance of this)

Wonder how long it takes PAB to restock

depends it can vary depending on country and how much stock will be available.

I know that I'm in the minority with this here, but, like the Ideas Blacksmith Shop, I don't like the Alchemist one, too.

Still hoping for some news on the Icons knights' tournament set - I really hope it didn't get cancelled.

We don´t even know if that is coming, so it can´t get canceled really. But given the Lion Knight´s and Wolfpack didn´t disappear from Pick a Brick, I am pretty sure something is coming. Whether that is a Joust or something else will probably leak somewhen in the near future.

Or another castle for another faction. I am not saying a Joust is unlikely, but just as people think there were hints towards a Joust Set people are thinking the same for a Black Knights Castle. In the end Lego does a lot references to past themes so it doesn´t have to mean anything. What actually speaks against a Joust Set is that the Barding got retired, while the Minifigures are still around.

Which leak do you mean?

I already commented on the Alchemist set in the Bricklink thread - I'm not interested in it other than the soldiers which I would be better off getting via the usual Bricklink method anyway.

Some may take issue with the jester's colours, which are a bit unusual. But what looks 'weird/wrong' about this one for me, is that the hat is all one colour instead of 2 colours - either in halves or quarters.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it could also be that the parts from MTS has not retired from PAB due to a error. MTS was suppose to be on shelf's longer at least 1 more year I think, so maybe the PAB team did not get the memo and the parts are still there because of that:sceptic:

Icons 11382
1252 parts
Space-themed display model
August release

Could of course be a modern space shuttle and nothing to do with retro sets :def_shrug:
We get a Castle GWP and that is it this year and basically nothing in the years to come except Creator 3-in-1 sets and a odd CMF, rather depressing thoughts :cry_sad:

Most of the parts that are exclusive for the MTS are retired now though ;)

I would actually think that, especially "display model" doesn´t make it likely it will be a retro Set, all of them have been playsets so far.

If it would be a castle GWP with actual Minifigures I would actually be happy to get at least that - but I take it is just a guess, because I haven´t seen any rumours about that one either?

I was thinking about the black knights Idea GWP ship set, but have not seen that confirmed this year so could be next year also..
I agree the micro scale GWP of the Castle this autumn do nothing for me, it must be minifig scale to be of interest :shrug_oh_well:

I was wondering if the BDS palettes affected which torsos are being retired and which are not? Obviously the Lion Knight soldiers and Wolfpack parts were part of the series 6 palette and are part of the Outlaw Forest Den. But the BFs were not, nor were the Lion Queen legs, soooo is that why some are being retired from PAB yet others remain?

Could as well be there's simply still some stock left, and will be until the last is sold.

Ah, yes, I forgot about that one. It isn´t confirmed of course, but based on other GWPs it should come this year.

Rather the other way around, they are still in BDP because they will be used again in a Set I bet. I just think it is unlikely they keep minifigures around just for BDP, after all they never were the final designs and others got their minifigs switched for that very reason.

The other retiring parts were discounted to sell off, which didn´t happen to the Wolfpack and Lion Knights Parts.

Would like to believe the remaining parts mean something, because the forestmen parts are still there too.  And been wanting a real forestmen set forever.  But there are many parts still available that seem unlikely to be part of new set.  Even the classic castle shields remain.  Seems more likely these parts were very popular and sold well so they made a ton of them and will just take a while to sell out.

The shields (actually including all Lion Knights shields) got discounted tough, aswell as the Forestmen parts. The Bardings are also still not sold out (at least last time I checked) aswell as other parts that just aren´t sold out yet.

I believe the Lion Knight Castle was released in August when it first debuted. I think its possible that if we were to get a new "replacement" castle set then it could be released then. (that way its ready for Christmas orders) If that is the case then maybe we would see the Black Knights ship GWP be paired with it.

However, LEGO does also like to split up special nostalgia sets and GWPs so that AFOLs who want them both at release, spend more money. So its possible that if we do get some sort of castle set in August, the GWP isn't available until the Fall double points weekend/Black Friday. Or vice versa.

I'm also confused about MTS tax collector.  He's still available on PAB and was supposed to be heavily featured in Dustmark Castle.  But in leaks of the final design, they swapped out them for Snake Knights.  There may be one left in the back, but that could be a lighter purple.  The banners and accent colors are still based on his outfit, but they're not giving us any/many figures?

Perhaps he didn't sell as well on PAB, so they don't want to make as big of a production run for him, even if DK will be a big seller on that BDP series.

Whatever retro set we are getting, if any, a release in the second half of the year seems likely, given there was not even the slightes rumour yet. And, sure a release together with the GWP seems not unlikely, since it surely would push up sales on release. I could also see them releasing the GWP first and then a second time together with the Set, like they did with Lion Knights Castle.

Must be a thing in the US then, here he was one of the first figures that was sold out (the torso at least, I think the legs lasted longer, but are also sold out for a long time now).

The Tax collector is not available in the US and hasn't been for awhile now.  The Designer of Dustmark Keep said he had to change the minifigs as the tax collector was retiring.  Dustmark will most likely be the snake knights so he would still be able to use the purple he used in the set.

Same thing happened with the BF's, lion knights, forestmen and wolfpack when they first came out.  They will restock and the same thing will happen as it did with those figs and eventually the stock will be available at a normal rate.

That torso was around for a while…. I actually pulled a dozen or so, swapped out black arms, legs and have them set up as archers and a squad of men-at-arms to be part of the serpent faction. They look great— paired them with the Friends purple bows and quivers, I’ll have to post some pics at some point

That's quite frustrating that they release a palette of parts to use and then change some of them, especially so for a part that sets the theme of the set.

Having said that, getting a base for the snake knights with the shields available may end up being to the benefit of the set, but it's very lucky that they have a fine purple stripe and that snakes are associated with the desert. Otherwise it would be poorly matched or need a lot of redesign.

Yeah I had a conversation with the Designer of Dustmark on Reddit a while ago he said he would have to change the figs and I was asking if he would use the snake knights but I think he couldn't say anything official at the time.  Yeah he said he would have to change some colors if things didn't work out but I think we all knew at that point he was leaning on the snake knights.

I hope you are right, but so far not a whisper in that regard so have not high hopes for anything (other that the GWP and maybe 1 CMF):sceptic:

That is one of the problems with the BDP sets, the designers have to behave as beggars and take scraps from other normal sets and whatever is on the menu at the time. If there was no vending machine or Creator 3-in-1 castle on shelf's now the minifigs in the coming BDP sets would be a sorry lot
