We can’t be too mad at the monster, considering it was created by a kid. There are still a couple of good reasons why this episode is so hated tho :laugh_hard:

I know this is unpopular, I fully understand I'm gonna be in the minority here, but I don't think Love and Monsters is a very good funny bad episode. Like the monster is stupid but he's only in the last 5 minutes really. I think aside from the weird innuendo line at the end and the absorbaloff it's actually just boring bad most of the time.

Fear her though is a stone cold classic, everyone acts like an alien in that episode, the Council man is hilarious, the little girl is doing the funniest villain voice of all time when she's possessed, the squiggle monster, the way this stupid fluffy low stakes episode swerves to tackling child abuse last minute and quickly drops it. It's an all timer funny bad episode for me.

Even the kid didn't quite like what the BBC did to their creation - it was supposed to be as big as a double decker bus!

I mean to be fair on a BBC budget that's a tall ask. Though given how much RTD loved blowing the budget on effects shots (I love the story about the End of the World Ian Levine told., so good) I think we should all just be proud he didn't wind up doing this.

RE: Doctor Who

We're more likely to get a 200 dollar buildable figure of the Abzorbaloff. After all, he's the most beloved of the Dr Who monsters, right?

Big Ron will always be the show's biggest what if, sadly with the actor now being dead it can never be :(

I realise now that is a dimensions in time reference, but the first place my mind went was Ronnie Corbett as a Slitheen from the Sarah Jane Adventures short.

Just for the sake of asking questions which one of these potential DC CMF series would you prefer? (They all have 0% chance of happening)

1. Lantern League CMF

  • Jo Mullein
  • Guy Gardner (Red or Blue)

Not the last one, the silver lining of LEGO DC being put on life when it was is we skipped out on a figure for the Batman who tries too hard.

If I had to choose I'd go with the former just so poor Kyle could get a minifigure as he's probably never going to otherwise.

Agreed with @Renny The Spaceman that I'd also not be that last one. Dark nights metal had some cool designs ( and many bad ones) but the story itself was so crap that most of these are characters I'd never want them to waste budget I  making.

I'd actually then go for the first option.

This one could net us a ton of pretty obscure characters who lego DC hasn't released in a decade or more:

1. The Batman (Frank Miller TDKR suit)

2. Superman (Black Suit)

3. Wonder Woman

4. The Flash

5. Aquaman

6. Cyborg

7. Hal Jordan

8. Jon Stewart

9. Robin (Tim Drake ideally, but honestly any of them)

10. Red Hood

11. Bizarro

12. Artemis

Do you mean the Green arrow sidekick, the Wonder Woman sidekick, the other Amazon, or the actual godddess?

The amazon who's part of the outlaws (hence Red Hood and Bizarro showing up) but honestly take your pick we're never getting any of them anyway. I don't think we even see Flash/WW/Hal/Cyborg anytime soon.

Given how often LEGO Lore comes up here seems the right place to ask. Johnny Thunder has so many different names (Johnny Thunder, Sam Grant, Joe Freeman, Sawyer) and in a recent LEGO game he's said that he's used all of them before. Do we think that Johnny Thunder is his original birth name or is that a title he gave himself? Seem more fantastical than the other choices

Isn't the guy from Dino (2012) named Josh Thunder or something like that? I think Johnny Thunder is his real name, the rest are just aliases. Though I would like to headcanon that he went by Sam Grant in the old JPIII sets.

That would confirm his real name is Thunder, or at least it's his legal name as of the time he has kids- I think it is fun for the most out-there name to be the real one.

As said above, I like the idea that Johnny Thunder, the fantastical name, is his real one, and he comes up with spectacularly bland aliases.

I believe it was stated somewhere by Lego that Josh is either Johnny’s son or nephew.

So yeah, Thunder's the family name.

Completely forgot about hi, yeah that'll be it then.

His bastard 4+ son was called Jake Thunder too if I remember correctly

F***. The perfect cosmic DC set is right here. But Lego refuses to be cool.
green-lantern-19-hal-jordan-mentions-the
This would cater to Lantern fans, Superman fans, spaceship fans, Justice League fans.

Add Carol and Red Lantern Sinestro. And it’d be a top 5 DC set easily.

My lord they are. Is Commando is secretly writing the Beano?

I can confirm that Absolute Dennis is next.

Without the catapult. Without Gnasher. Dennis must embark on an epic quest and redefine what it truly means to be a menace.

After that is Absolute Minnie the Minx. Think of it as British Doom Slayer.

Then we choose between Roger the Dodger, Desperate Dan, Bash Street Kids, Calamity James or Corporal Clott to be the next wave of titles.

My vote is on bash street kids TBH.

Would Walter the Softy be his closest confidant in this universe?

If base Dennis can this easily dispatch a Dalek who knows what Absolute Dennis could do!

Also, on a related note it might be relevant to say that I may or may have not gotten my first ever LEGO Minifigures pack that might have contained a specific, demolition obsessed character that could have become a fundamental part of this forum from the Beano Magazine in 2010 that was designed to advertise series 1

The Aslume has contributed to the economy, now to the press. One step closer to absolute political takeover. Insanity is inevitable.

Yeah, you Brits can keep your lot of weird cartoon characters.

Sam Grant feels like a name he’d use to get a way into Sam Sinister’s birthday party uninvited. First name nepotism is a serious issue, speaking from personal experience.

Brilliant. It’s become my head-canon now.

On LEGO lore, do y’all figure Blackwell is connected to Blacktron? If so, how? Blackwell does sport the same B logo as Blacktron II (and coincidentally on the Space Villain who is seen in the game), so it seems to implied that they are connected.

I think so, I mean his plan is to establish a space fairing society after all, it only makes sense that he's the progenitor behind Blacktron.

The Haunted mansion says that Baron Von Barron's first name is Samuel, his first partner in Crime is Sam Sinister so that adds up.

My personal headcanon for the Sam Sinister switcheroo is Samuel had impersonated Sam after the latter's death described in the Mansion's instructions to take his estate.
