I thought the previous prints were just standard over-ear hearing aids, though to be honest I do not know much about the available technologies.

Of course there are pros and cons to both prints and moulding. With prints you can use any hairpiece, while with moulding you can use any face - though the option to expand into Minidolls is great.

In fact one of the 2024 Friends sets does use the short hair cochlear hair piece.

Honestly, I probably know just as much about the differences between the two technologies as you do – I’m not even sure how accurately you could show the difference at minifig scale.

Good catch on spotting the short hair version in one of the Friends sets - I only knew about the one in the City Burger Truck set. That seems to confirm the idea that they’re adding these kinds of pieces to allow more accessibility and options over multiple themes.

Yes, CI and hearing aid are different things as I mentioned in my previous post… Baically, CI attaches to the piece of metal under skin, jsut above head while hearing aid just hangs over a head and its earmold stuffs inside ear, realistically. However, you are right, it’s little hard to tell difference between those objects in a minifigure form.

Well it's not like they called the obvious remake of Johnny Thunder by his real name. We all know who this is. Have they in fact ever given a non-licensed, non-tie-in CMF character a name, or do they always only have descriptive names?

Medusa from Series 10

The descriptive name would had been Gorgon

__________

We knew he was going to get a descriptive name. I was just pointing out which they picked. And honestly, "knight" isnt quite right for Basil the BatLORD IMO. I expected something that implied a higher rank

True. Vampire Lord would've been an appropriate nod if they really wanted Vampire, or even Bat Lord to get closer and still be descriptive.

I think “Vampire Knight” is more fitting for this Basil the Batlord. I mean, he is the leader of Fright Knights into battle against their enemies.  He has helmet, that looks like a knight’s helmet…  Ad we still recognize him as Basil the Ballard. Just like Queen from Lion Knights’ Castle wears armor and is ready to fight. I don’t think “Warlord”  will be appropriate…

Johnny Thunder goes by “Jungle Explorer” in Series 19 but we know who he is exaclty.

Dr. Kirby goes by “Curator” in Natural History Museum but we know who he is.

Pippin Red goes by “Passener” or whatever it is in Orient Express set but we know who she is.

Medusa goes by Medua becuase she doesn’t show up in classic themes….

Shepherd’s name doesn’t blame me at all.

Yes, but her torso looks too modern to really work in a Medieval setting.

I just read that there is new dark orange color being introduced next year.... and it's coming a couple of series too late because that's totally what the Falconer and the Fierce Barbarian needed for their hairpieces

I know I’m late for the party I was busy this week.
anyone else notice that the emblem on the fierce barbarian is nearly identical to the barbarian from S11 and yes I agree that the vampire knight is in my top ten favorite CMFs ever made might even make the top five once I have one, overall I think it’s a solid series.

Are you referring to the reddish orange from the City Space sets? If so, I am not sure how it would look for hair, as it seems somewhat metallic to me.

It is the same symbol - Nice catch!

I don’t get. It why people don’t like red hairpieces on both Faloner and Fierce Barbarian? They look good to me. I guess I only see beauty in my eyes wIhile others don’t.

The unnatural color. They both look like wearing wigs

Basically because both are Historic Figures (even though they are Fantasy Figures) which shouldn´t have dyed hair - natural "red" hair isn´t really red, is it? But honestly, that isn´t something that bothered me at all - actually I haven´t even thought about that fact until it was mentioned here. Both minifigures look great and I really like them, red hair or not ;).

Yeah, humans don’t have crayola yellow skin either, but we don’t mind that because it’s just how lego works. I’ve never seen an issue with handwaving too bright hair colors in the same way.

Also, if the objection is that pre-modern people didn't have access to hair dye...you might be surprised. People have been dyeing their hair as long as they have been dyeing cloth, often with the same pigments.

I guess Falconer and Fierce Barbarian dyed their hair in enemies’ blood, pretty brutal…

Dyed their hair? Absolutely not! Drenched in enemy blood? Absolutely not!

One is the result of a genetic mutation, while the other is the result of being zapped in high-energy blaster waves from one of the upcoming Space CMFs!

Those are the only logical explanations!

Or a Witch’s Windship GWP? 🤔

See, NOW we're talkin'!*

*(So long as they expand the amount of usable space in the basket, I won't care how they build the dragon!)

EDIT: And for those curious, Brick Fanatics has some photos of Basil the Batlord the Vampire Knight's head and cape! And he's got a moustache again!
