2024 Friends sets

I am SO making a back for that B&B, and removing the modern bits to convert it into the typical Victorian / Edwardian home it seems to be inspired by. I was originally gonna get the Creator modern house set (already designed a back for that one from the pictures!) but now I'm going for the Friends set as it fits better in my early-to-mid 20th century style layout.

My one thing though is, on that second floor it looks like there are two orange beds side by side and they have no wiggle room to walk between the beds. I may be wrong it may just be a single bed but it currently looks like a very crammed room. Besides that this Bed & Breakfast looks so cool. Thanks again @Lyichir for providing context.

Interestingly, Lego still has not put up set details for the summer sets, the only one on there is the advent calendar.

one interesting thing I noticed is that the adventure camp sets seem to have a collectible, not sure what it is yet, does anyone have a clue?

They're merit badges, printed on 1x1 tiles so you can put two of them inside a book! For example, in the below image Aliya has added the two badges from your post to her camp book: a climbing badge for completing the obstacle course and an entomology badge for finding/identifying insects:

In this image you can see the badge patterns a little more clearly (click for full size):

There are lots more high-quality pics and descriptions of the Friends sets on this site: https://www.brickstore.nz/collections/lego-friends?sort_by=created-descending#MainContent. The book covers are stickered but the badges themselves appear to be printed. The official images only show book covers for Aliya (in the tree house), Nova (in the archery range), Paisley (in the cozy cabins), and Liann (in the water sports set), but part of me hopes that those sets also come with alternate stickers for the other friends.

I’m noticing something with Sara in the water park, can anyone tell me what this might be?

42621 Hospital comes with a promising new worm gear part that was used for the elevator. Looking forward to see it in more cool models like for amusement park or something else

It's a very cool piece, introduced last year in City first, with the Police Academy, and later the Ski Centre (first vertical elevator using it), but yes, this year did continue that with 3 more vertical elevators , one with Megalopolis (Monkie Kid), and then of course Friends Hospital and Mansion. 

One of the most innovative LEGO moving pieces in system sets in recent times imo, since this means elevators don't need gearboxes or winches with ropes to have a simple moving function, which tend to also take more parts and more space. (interestingly enough the 2 City sets using it ,actually do also come with a rope winch but it's used as a safety line for minifgs on climbing wall in both cases, not for the elevator/sideways platform)

Thank you very much for your time and your knowledge about this new piece. When I first saw it, I was sure that this part was made for the Technic world. The crossaxle connection and the odd 7 module length indicates it much as Technic piece, but surprisingly there is no Technic set yet using it. I spotted it First in the new Retro Radio and was very surprised

It's 6, which I suppose is a good compromise spot cause it means it's 5 bricks tall in an elevator.  The very large City crane coming out this year also has an 8 module long holder for it.

There’s a new knee-length skirt seen in the Wicked trailer. Wonder how long until that shows up in Friends sets. Hoping that and Petch’s knee-length shorts from the January shopping mall start to make more appearances soon.

I didn’t notice that before, great find!

I don’t think the knee length shorts on petch will be used frequently, considering his prosthetic leg is moulded in to the leg, but would be nice to get a regular version!

New episode out: Farm fest!

Alright, first episode of season two! Gonna do the classic lemerbrix analysis!

This episode was a really great way to start off the season, i really enjoyed this. I do feel that autumn was a bit out of character this episode, but not that bad, Ben was a major character in this episode, and I like how he got some development.

 

So, the start of the episode picks up right where “come together” left off with paisley’s first performance as ley-la.

 

We get to see zoya, Ben, and new character, Jae. Why they weren’t included in the Heartlake city preschool, I have no idea. (Edit: to clarify, by “they” I meant zoya, Jae, and Ben)

 There’s a new day/night transition, and I think it’s pretty great!

 
new ley-la costume! I definitely like this!

at the end, spring has a new foal named summer, so we have summer, spring, and autumn, next up is definitely winter!

overall, 8/10 episode

Alright, so immediately, we get to check in with an old friend of ours, Olivia!, this episode was really fun, and I liked how it showed the conflict between Aliya and nova!

We get to see the space base, and Olivia will be the first woman on mars! Soooo, is aveline non-canon?

Mr. Maxwell is a confirmed Olivia simp.

 

not much happens in the middle of the episode we get a nice montage, aliya and nova challenge each other in a VR game, and eventually agree on a project.

 

we’re also introduced to candi, who is a grade A jerk, this era’s Tanya, but I’ll have more to say about her next week

overall, I give this episode an 8/10, very fun watch

This episode was a very nice episode, showing that Lego friends isn’t afraid to get serious with topics like bullying and depression because of bullies. As I hinted towards in my last episode analysis, Candi is the main antagonist in this episode. The liann plot in this episode was pretty funny, but I found more interest in the Leo plot.

  

So, liann has taken up a new hobby of painting rocks, however learns that they somehow give good luck! With nova as her security guard, liann starts dealing these rocks to the students of hlc international school.

 

eventually, the rocks became so desirable that everyone is selling and buying them in the gym, this whole thing felt like an allegory for the other “magic” rocks that are illegal

 

now moving on to the other plot, Leo is getting bullied by Candi, who’s on the soccer team with him, and let’s just say, Candi was EVIL in this episode, she called Leo names and made it look like he wet himself in front of the entire soccer team, Candi is such a-

 

yoooo, jordin got a boyfriend! The orange haired guy who laughed at paisley in new beginnings. Compared to Candi, he doesn’t seem so bad!

 

It’s clear that Leo is depressed because of Candi’s bullying in this episode, he messed up his cooking, and is clearly down in the dumps.

at the diner, Leo finally tells autumn, liann and nova what’s been going on, and breaks down in tears, autumn comforts him, telling Leo that because of her arm, she’s been bullied too, but Mia taught autumn to stand up for herself, and this scene meant a lot to me, I’ve also felt the way Leo is feeling, and have had a lot of supportive friends to help me out.

 

in the end leo stands up to Candi, who immediately believes she and Leo are besties now, I don’t like where this is going.

this is an 9/10 episode for me!
