I have mixed feelings about the summer wave. The Crusher Mech is just beautiful to look at whilst the Command Truck severely falls behind

Agreed. I've not got Knuckles yet, but this may be the set to do it.

The command truck just doesn't appeal. I don't know much after about Sonic 3, but is this in any of the games at all? It seems like a Sonic themed City set.

It very much is a Sonic themed City set. I mean, do we really need a second Metal Sonic in a more pricey set when someone like Vector would have been way more desirable?

So I finally found the sets. And yea can agree the truck is underwhelming

Would it really kill Lego to make Metal Sonic more robotic. The Minifig Torso and Legs don't work for him

They'd have to make mirrored molds but they should have used the prosthetic leg from the Marvel Echo fig for his legs and the prosthetic arm and attachment from the Astronomer Kid

At least then I can accept a Minifig Torso used for Metal Sonic even if the intake prints are misaligned

 

On the other hand the Mech looks great. Though weird no Orbot when they have all the pieces needed to make him now.

I guess the Egg Crusher might be the closest thing we'll get to an official set from Sonic Prime. The Extreme Gear for Knuckles is a neat addition too.

The Burrobot and Caterkiller are good additions to the Badnik collection, though the continued lack of Orbot is baffling at this point.

Rather disappointing that there's not a single new minifigure (not even any new face prints from the looks of it) in this wave. I'm hoping that 2026 makes up for it, considering the 35th anniversary of the series should be the time for LEGO to go all out.

I'm hoping that the Chao Garden reference in the Command Truck is a hint of what is to come for 2026.

Edit: Looking at it further. I think it can also work as a baseline for an Egg Emperor build. I wanted to build one in LDD but didn't have an idea where to start. So this set will work well as a template.

Out of all the reveals, the Sonic wave is sadly the weakest  The builds are decent, but the lack of new characters or even variants is very disappointing! Fingers crossed the 2026 sets will be more interesting.

Egg crusher looks awesome. Much better than the Death Egg mech from the first wave. The quality of the sets is increasing, which deserves a praise

Next year would be a good opportunity for LEGO to do a Sonic 35th anniversary CMF series, though I'm not sure how likely it is that they'd go for it.

As a non Sonic fan I kind of love the truck—seems like a very fun playability-first set, perfect for a cool guy like Sonic to hang out in. The mech looks cool as well.

For the summer sets I was expecting Gerald and Maria given the winter wave was based on Sonic Adventures 2 but I guess I was expecting too much.

For 2026 sets I would love to see Chaos along with Perfect Chaos and Metal Overlord sets.

From all the sets the theme has released, which ones are made ups and which ones are based on Sonic media?

For example I know the Knuckles mech is made up but the Biolizard set is something that is from the games.

There's also an influencer kit, but discounting that as it's not an instruction focused-set. 

The sets people dislike the most tend to be sets that are Made Up entirely. The appeal of the Sonic sets is normally that they reflect some form of the Sonic media or feature a new character.

The LEGO version of Tails' Workshop (especially when folded up) seems like it might have been inspired by the version in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, though it's not an exact match.

Personally, I don’t mind the made-up vehicles and locations, but they should at least come with some new minifigs here and there! I can’t think of any other licensed theme that only introduced one new non-brick-built character across 5 sets

It’s a smaller theme, sure, but so is Fortnite and that gets tons of new characters with novel specialised pieces! Maybe next year
