So is the smallest GotG set 4+? If so, it's disappointing.

The finale of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy gets three sets (the smallest potentially being based on a previous movie), while the second Black Panther movie gets five sets, a D2C, and potentially a second D2C.

Hell, even Eternals got four regular sets. This is outrageous.

Maybe the polybag is a microbuild of the Guardian's ship depicted in the new movie (which should also be the biggest set). Marvel spaceships often get a micro version alongside them.

The benetar isn't due to retire until Dec 2023, so wonder what ship this would be

I'll give Eternals a free pass because LEGO needed to make so many characters for that movie. As long as we get all the major minifigures for GotG 3 I think it'll be fine, but obviously 3 regular sets as opposed to one being 4+ would be better.

I believe so. Apparently, it will have 67 pieces, according to Stonewars. I expect two figs. I think one of them will be Quill, as a repeat from the biggest set. If I could speculate the sets and fig distribution:

$10, 67 pieces: Star-lord and Cosmos (a new mold, like Scooby-doo). Some interior build, like the BP lab set;

$35, 330 pieces: Rocket, Nebula and High Evolutionary, with Groot as the build, plus other build;

$100, 1108 pieces: Star-lord, Drax, Mantis, Gamora and Adam Warlock. Probably a spaceship.

Honestly, this is exactly what I'm expecting. I'll be happy with this as long as the builds are decent and not super small for the price. I'm excited to get another Marvel spaceship (hopefully it's not gonna be a third Benatar).

That was just a guess mind you.

I don't think they'll do another Benatar. We've had one in a playset scale, and one in a D2C scale, so there's no need for another, especially with the last one coming out just last year.

So a ship belonging to someone else makes the most sense.

Lol, funnily enough you distributed the minifigures just like they did in the first Guardians of the Galaxy wave.

Star-Lord in the smallest set. Rocket, Nebula, and buildable Groot in the middle one. Star-Lord, Gamora, and Drax in the biggest one

Unless the Guardians manage to destroy the Benatar too  Milano, Benatar, … what other female singer’s last name would make for a good ship name?

What about a ship named after Kate Bush? "Running up that Hill" seems to be all the rage right now...

I'm holding out for hope they make Groot like the Avatar figures. Brick built is far too big for him, he isn't much taller than the other Guardians

Certainly a few innuendos that could come from naming your ship 'Bush'

Literally no decisions about BP 2 have made sense to me, starting with not recasting. (not to dig that up again, but really, I don't see how recasting is disrespectful. The CGI stuff... that's different, but recasting seems perfectly normal)

But the sheer amount of sets for this film, a film that doesn't include the main character of the previous one... even if the movie does well, I think it's nuts that they made so many sets for it. I don't understand why they gave it so many in relation to other movies.

Everyone assumes Star Lord is just a big fan of the 41st and 43rd American presidents, that's all. No other double meanings.

Yeah sure. Fun to speculate though. As some else said, the benetar could be blown up in the first 5 minutes of the holiday special.

Trailers wise, presumably there will be one for the holiday special (maybe fairly soon), and then the film trailers will come out after that.

No no, of course no double meanings, Star Lord just really loves Bush. There's no way that could get misinterpreted

The Werewolf by Night trailer came out one month before the project hits D+, so trailer might be some time away. And with how close trailers seem to be to film's release these days, I wouldn't expect Ant Man's until November

Is there still hope for D+ minifigures/set? I really want Moon Knight…

I'd say no.

LEGO just decided to ignore the Disney+ series, and honestly, you can't really be mad at them.

MCU is overloaded with too much content. Just this year alone we're getting twelve projects.

Now I'm getting completely off topic, but Better Call Saul is something I think has a CHANCE at getting lego sets (unlike BB, which will never). I'm only on season 3, but so far the violence is pretty sparse, and not much more violent than, like, batman v superman or other stuff they've done sets for. On the other hand, they probably don't want any sort of connection to BB whatsoever, which I get.

What was the original point again? Lego's done memes in sets/games before? Yeah, they've done a lot, especially recently. A M0RB1N license plate is not out of the question.

I 100% agree with the wider sentiment. There's so much content (and TBH I think a lot of it's been slipping recently. Used to be almost every film was pretty solid, now we have a lot more films and a lot of shows, but many of them are pretty weak) that lego can't produce sets for everything. On the other hand, we're getting 5 sets based on a single movie, and not even a big event movie like avengers. You'd think one of the sets could have been moon knight or something...

It is likely that all the protagonists of the D + series will appear in some film, sooner or later.  I am sad for the villains and supporting actors who will not appear in the movies and most likely will never have their minifigure.  But I hope Lego continues with the cmf, because I like the idea that every show has even just one minifigure

Honestly another cmf would not be bad at all

That would be a good way to do it. I assume the previous one sold well so fingers crossed. Trouble is the wider the gap between series the more content there is to cover. If there are 12 figures, it's probably only one per show!

For a show like Ms Marvel, one minifigure is enough.  in my opinion.  The important thing is not to occupy half the slot for what if ... 🙄🙄🙄

There really should have been another Disney+ CMF series this year if they aren't going to bother with sets.  Too much content is getting released for a 12 figure CMF series to adequately cover if it's being released 2+ years after the first.  Even then, I imagine a decent number of notable characters would have been left out (What If?... got extra attention and still ended up with major omissions)  And considering how often characters in the MCU get new outfit designs, waiting for show characters to be released in movie sets is only a partial solution.

what i'd really like is 4 out of the 12 figures to be based on captain america....

If they do all the essential characters, in the new cmf, that is, Hawkeye, Kate, Ms Marvel, Moon Knight, Mr. Knight, She-Hulk, and Werewolf by Night, then we’ll still have 5 characters they can make
