Dream Lego Licensed Themes

I know this is never going to happen, but if we talk about dreams, a theme based on Quake or Doom FPS game would be interesting for me due to nostalgia. I spent a lot of time playing these games. Recreating fragments of classic levels would be fun I think.

Seriously though, while I don't wanna set myself or anyone else up for disappointment, what else could @TandNbricks be referring to? I'm not aware of any other building block company on the brink of losing a license to a competitor and I doubt he meant that as a general prediction. This reads as a pretty clear hint to me

According to someone on Brick Tap, the next CMF series is based on a 2026 movie that is a new license…

I just looked at the list of upcoming movies scheduled for next autumn and two stood out to me, namely Street Fighter and the still untitled Jumanji 4. Neither is super likely, but they seem like the best candidates

Easily, if all movies are fair game  If it's only the sequels, we have the 4 main avatars, the 4 kids playing the game, the villain from the last one played by Rory McCann, Awkwafina's character, the NPC guide, and Danny DeVito.

Okay, you got me there, I‘d have to look up some of their names too  Without looking it up tho, Jack Black‘s character is named Shelly something, Karen Gillan‘s is Ruby Roundhouse (I think?), Dwayne Johnson‘s something with Stone, Kevin Hart‘s something with Mouse, the kids‘ names I don‘t remember at all, and the villain was named Jurgen the Brutal I think? It‘s been a while

You both did way better than I could, if I really sat with it maybe I could have dug out Gillian's character from the recesses of my brain but that's it. So with Ruby, Shelly, Stone, Jurgen, Sarah, Peter and Mouse that's 7 actual names. plus Murdoch's unnamed trinity which could what they're credited as that is just under or just over the Olympics CMF. There for it will absolutely be Jumanji, no further discussion. Mods close this topic now

There’s a new Godzilla movie coming at the end of the year, a Kaiju cmf would be so cool.

Street Fighter series would work ridiculously well too, but I’m not sure if that’s the type of thing Lego would do. I think all the games are rated T though, so I guess it’s not impossible. Plus Megaman was almost in Dimensions way back when

I was thinking Shrek? That would make a good CMF series or maybe The Chronicles of Narnia.

Dr Seuss or Shrek are my guesses. Street Fighter and Masters of the Universe are also possible.

MotU is the least likely option out of all of the ones I‘ve heard. I‘m sure Mattel will want to do their own sets through Mega or Brick Shop, rather than give the license to their competitor

I used to be on team Street Fighter, but now I‘m leaning towards Shrek. The hint that we shouldn‘t rule out a 2027 movie implies that the movie got delayed, and Shrek 5 fits the bill.

I'm not looking forward to Shrek CMF though I wouldn't be opposed to Dreamworks one, I just think Shrek may be a bit too repetitive with molds and similarities to existing figures (Gingy and existing Gingerbread figures for example).

I would LOVE a Seuss CMF and a Grinch figure coming out near Christmas would sell like crazy.

Street Fighter is cool for AFOLs but may be too niche for kids?

Masters of the Universe is being done by Mattel.  They are making building block sets for it so it won't be that.

Not just A-list characters, like The Flintstones, The Jetsons or Yogi Bear, but also B-list characters like Secret Squirrel, Atom Ant and Winsome Witch.

I would love it if LEGO made a minifigure of Winsome Witch, the good witch with a cheerful personality from her self-titled mid-1960s cartoon shorts, which aired during The Secret Squirrel Show.

Just like many B-list Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters, she was recently featured in HBO Max's Jellystone, created by animator C.H. Greenblatt.

It's a mix of new and returning IPs! One of them has to be K-Pop Demon Hunters for sure. I'm probably getting ahead of myself again, but the returning IP has to be SpongeBob, right?? Not many other options, and combined with the competitor's license having ended... Watch it be Power Puff Girls or another smaller theme and crush my dreams

If we got a Monsters Inc set beyond the BrickHeadz, it would be part of the Disney theme with its 43xxx set numbers, not 72xxx. TMNT is another distinct possibility, but for obvious reasons I’d prefer Spob to return

I think ‘B’ is probably the rumored K-Pop Demon Hunters sets – in part because there are two 12+ sets there and experience says that’s more likely to be because they’re buildable objects rather than playsets for a more mature theme (examples: the Wednesday playsets are 10+ despite the show being very dark. Harry Potter playsets are between 7-10+ but several of the buildable objects/animals are 14+). A buildable Derpy Tiger is an obvious choice for a set (there have been multiple Ideas submissions), so I could easily see him being 72421 or 72422, the other one being a buildable Huntr/x logo with a trio of minidolls or minifigs, and 72423 being a big stage playset with plenty of characters. 
 

The leak didn’t specify if we were looking at two returning themes and one new, or one returning theme and two new, so ‘P’ and ‘Lollipop’ are really up in the air. 
 

Personally, I think ATLA has a stronger chance of getting new sets than TMNT or SpongeBob simply because Legend of Aang is coming out this year and the theme has definitely seems more popular than the other two as far as Lego Ideas submissions go.
