As far as I know, PaB Standard is just stopped in the United States and Canada. However, dozens of postal services around the world, including most European postal services, are no longer accepting mail to the United States, or at least they weren't the last time I checked in early September.

It’s rare when a set releasing on Jan 1st already has set of the year potential

Do you still think it will win

Is that a worldwide thing? Im in Australia and I placed an order last month and it's still 'in warehouse.' I just attributed that to them being slow

No only USA/Canda, the rest of the world is just slow. However my pigeons took flight yesterday :steve:

Interesting! So this set does have a spoiler for S5, namely that ...

Jonathan bleaches his hair.

No, but it’s still a great set in my opinion! Doesn’t hold a candle to the 2019 set, but few sets do. The only thing I truly dislike about it is Jonathan’s faceprint. I hate it whenever they use that super-generic print for a named character, most recently Sherlock Holmes and Cornelius Fudge! I even would’ve preferred any of the other usual suspects among overused prints (Han, Kaz, Bruce, Henry)

Do you actually think Steve isn't... well... the worst minifigure you've ever seen? They literally butchered half of the minifigures. Jonathan is easily one of the worst there, but Steve is even worse.

Not to mention how plain they all are. No leg printing really hurts how they look. The first set had incredible minifigures—they all looked unique, detailed, and extremely accurate. Here, most people can't even recognise half of the characters.

The Paul Atreides faceprint isn’t a great choice, but the hairpiece does fit pretty well I think! At least it’s better than Kramer’s hairpiece

I think people exaggerate a bit with the lack of recognisability. The outfits here, apart from Dustin’s, aren’t iconic… yet. The first set had the advantage of S1 and 2 already having been established, so of course the outfits were more recognisable. I think peoples’ perception will change a bit once S5 drops.

Yeah, the lack of leg printing besides Vecna is annoying, but guess what, none of the human characters in the first set had leg printing either  At least the torsos are all new I think!

But I think even without the outfits the head and hair combo should be enough to be recognisable. Like if you looked at Dustin's head and hairpiece you can still tell its him. I'm not sure you could say the same about Robin and Jonathan.

Yeah, definitely not these two because they both have reused faceprints and hairpieces. The others have unique faceprints (Will, Mike, Nancy, Eleven, and Max, not sure about Lucas and Dustin), a new hairpiece (Nancy and Holly), and/or recoloured hairpieces (Max and Steve) :classic:

People also complain about Vecna, but he’s got printed arms and legs, plus his signature claw! :excited: Sure, the colour choice is debatable, but everything in the Upside Down is hard to pin down in terms of colouration and we don’t know yet what Vecna looks like in S5 after getting injured at the end of S4.

I think red for Vecna is an okay choice. He's a very detailed character with a lot of color variation and texture, 2 things that a minifigure will always struggle to capture. They could have gone with a flesh tone as a base, but then he'd probably look nude, so red is probably the safer choice.

I think most of the kids look good, but the older teens look pretty off, and that's solely to do with either faces or hair choices.

Robin looks the worst to me. Her face just doesn't look right at all, it's a generic reuse. Her hair is a complete misfire. The color just doesn't make sense at all, her hair might have auburn to it, but not anywhere enough to prompt them using orange. This feels like a cost cutting choice because this piece already exists in this color. Personally I think they should have either gone with Nova's hairpiece or New Hope Luke Skywalker hair in dark tan. I will replace her face and hair immediately when I get the set.

Nancy's face is okay, but the hair choice feels off, is that the Gabby hairpiece?

Jonathon is a misfire on the hair completely, way too light. The face could really use some lines under the eyes.

Steve's hair is perfect, the face is weird. The cheekbones make him look too old.

As for the younger teens, I kind of wish they'd used mid legs. I get that these people are now adults, but in the show they're not. And some of them are genuinely just short in comparison to the other characters, so I feel like midlegs may have better represented their age differences. But the regular legs are also a valid choice, just a matter of preference.

You’re right!! Didn’t realise it was that hairpiece ^^ I think it fits pretty well.

They kinda shot themselves in the foot by already giving them mid-legs in the previous set  Had that one used short legs instead, the mid-legs would’ve worked in the new one. That said, going by Potter rules, regular legs are justified too

I don't hate it, the vibe just doesn't feel 80s to me.

Steve's minifig was definitely the biggest misfire out of all of them, he almost looks like the 10th Doctor to me. I know the Peter Parker head is overused in a lot of themes but I do honestly think it would have fit him better here. As for a better hairpiece, maybe Han Solo's could work?

The picture is too low-quality to tell if Robin reuses Hermione's face or the new one introduced for Nami in One Piece, the latter would be a strange choice though since she never really registered as ginger to me, especially not compared to Max or her crush from marching band. Dark tan seems like a better choice for her hairpiece, unfortunately that specific one with the fringe doesn't yet exist in that colour, I might take one from an extra Thor minifig instead.

Nancy likeness was probably rendered the best, the re-use of the Gabby's Dollhouse piece for her poofy 80s hair was a solid choice, and it looks like her face print is completely new, I'm glad it wasn't the Jyn Erso head again.
