I vote for no more BrickHeadz (ever) !

They're really not that bad. They're cute sets and are nice shelf displays. Not everyone was fortunate enough to get the 2012-14 lines. I would love regular playsets but BH are not "the common enemy" here.

Oh they absolutely are taking resources away. Set development time, unique sticker sheets, etc. Any resources spent on brickheadz are resources not spent elsewhere (maybe that wouldn't have been a different LotR set, but it COULD have been). Whether this effect is substantial or playing any role in not getting playsets is certainly debatable. But it absolutely takes up Lego R&D resources no matter how you split it.

Nice to see that there is at least someone with common sense :-)

Every set takes up a slot of shelf space, instruction & packaging time & resources, factory storage space, unique part storage, designer time... things I can't think of right now... TLG aren't unlimited in how many products they can offer at once.

All these brickheads may well be blocking something else you'd prefer. They're definitely blocking something. (Could be a Galidor remake though :head_back:)

Yeah let's just shelf a theme that has been around for nearly a decade because we don't like it. I'm truly baffled Lego doesn't hire people from eurobricks, we have some sharp minds here. We need to make sure a Lego recruiter sits in on these conversations, they're missing out.

Common sense is continuing to do a series that sells well.

Stopping a theme part way through is also bad for fans.  I'm not collecting the LOTR Brickheadz, but I'd be really annoyed if I did and they did not complete the Fellowship.

Love that silly old argument: „If company didn‘t produce [product that I personally dislike], they had resources to produce [product I would personally like]!!“

That‘s not common sense, it‘s egotistical. Brickheadz sell well, otherwise we wouldn‘t have over 250 of them already. Vote with your wallet

Also, I should personally keep in mind that BrickHeadz are not that hard to design. They follow the same formula, so they do not take as much time to produce as, let's say, a playset with ton of features or a detailed modular building.

Hello everyone!  :excited:
Today is my first day on the  eurobricksforum.
I’ve been reading for over 10 years, but only now decided to register and write. :pir-laugh:
I have some of the sets LotR/Hobbit + 10316.  I hope that this year the demand for sets does not decrease and that we have other wonderful Middle-earth sets ahead.
It's a great idea that Lego decided to alternate between light and dark sets! And I don't think the set will include the Ringwraiths.

Welcome on board! :pir-huzzah2:

This is the quiet lull before the first leaks happen, so sit tight, friend!

What do you think the new Bag End set will look like?

Как ты думаешь, как будет выглядеть новый набор Bag End?

In structure it will be like 79003, only with more detail. Rooms: pantry, living room / kitchen and small office. 1 larger tree on the hill, a second smaller one nearby. Bushes, flowers, a lot of vegetation. There will be no birthday celebration scene. Minifigures: Gandalf (with cart and horse), young Bilbo, Bilbo (111 years old), Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Rosie, a hobbit with a pig. All hobbits will have another clothes (not like in the set 10316).
I think so.

I really wasn't a fan of the new Elf hairpiece included with Rivendell.
(I switched most of the figures back to the old ones, especially Legolas who's old one was perfect)

But today I was looking at it and thought it's actually perfect for Haldir, who does wear his hair over his shoulders...

I did the same thing, works great for Haldir

With the figures not likely being based on the Hobbit has made the wait not difficult at all. More excited for the build than anything. And we're already a month and a half into 2025!!!

I felt like Rivendell was really a tough act to follow. Great aesthetic and structure to the building, with an excellent minifig lineup. Barad-dur was great, too, although I was wanting more minifigs.

It will be interesting how Lego will pull off this 'repeat' (in terms of concept, since we had a Bag End some time back.

Agreed. I think both knocked it out of the park. For their price they had no other way haha. I wonder if the second ever $1000 set will be the white city....

I really hope it isn't. Not the second, not the third, not the fifteenth, not the thousanth $1000 set.

That price point is ridiculous and shouldn't be a thing.

The USD1000 set just shows how much confidence Lego has on the Star Wars line, and with all the die-hard fans, I am pretty sure there are many takers out there. But of course Lego has to do the set justice!

If a $1000 LOTR set comes out, I'm definitely in. However, I am not quite sure the market is as 'ripe' and as big as the SW theme.

1k for a Minas Tirith is a hell of a money. I can justify 7-800 $ for it at top, with 7k pieces and 20-25 minifigs. But thats it. Psychologically, four digits ate just way too much…

Oh I agree. The only Lego set I would ever spend $1000 would be a UCS recreation of the maelstrom from PoTC with the Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman. Dream set right there. Otherwise I agree. Lego should never be that expensive but that's the world we live in(((

Star Wars has the benefit that there are plenty of smaller sets available for regular buyers so the $1000 set doesn't lead to fans feeling alienated or disappointed. Whereas I think a single $1000 LOTR set would be a huge mistake, alienating fans that might have bought into LEGO LOTR. The prices of ~$400-500 are already doing that to some extent. But a $1000 set, I doubt they would sell anywhere near as many as a $500 set.

The map in the 10316 Rivendell set represents five iconic locations in Middle-earth: Orthanc, Rivendell, Barad-Dûr, Bag End and Minas Tirith. We've already had the first three.
Barad-Dûr also has a sticker of a map depicting several iconic locations : Orthanc, Barad-Dûr, Minas Tirith, and something like Edoras or Helm's Deep (I can't really see). There is also the reference "Baggins? Shire?" and the palantir representing Bag-End and Minas Tirith on fire.
We know we sure are going to have a Bag End set soon. To the extent that sets 10316 Rivendell and 10333 Barad-Dûr included clues of the potential set to follow, what could be the ones present in set 10354 Bag-End to announce Minas Tirith? Or Edoras / Helm's Depp given that the latter appears on the map in the barad-Dûr set (unless it's a false lead)?

Likely nothing that wouldn't be anachronistic, except maybe a printed book or tile in Gandalf's cart with a nod to his time looking through the archives for information on the ring (Isildurs account of the ring?). But if we don't mind breaking timeline a touch, or at least being cheeky with it, you could make some nod to Merry/Pippins time in Rohan/Gondor, like maybe Lego makes a tomato as a reference to Denthors famous scene with Pippin?

It wouldn't be a very good map of Middle Earth if it didn't have the iconic locations of Middle Earth on it. We have also had Bag End, just under The Hobbit branding. Will they do other iconic locations in future? Probably, but because they are iconic locations rather than because LEGO is hiding future releases in plain sight in an existing set.
