The only animals I really remember as moulded ones are crabs and fish, though pretty sure if we would look there would also be a frog somewhere. Yes I can not remember any animals except the smallest ones in Creator 3-in-1, some years ago we maybe had some Creator sets with a dog or a cat or was that another theme? Edit: seems like that was a City set, so no printed animals in Creator (do not count GWP that for some reason ended up in Creator some years ago) Edited April 23 by Roebuck Quote
Lyichir Posted April 23 Posted April 23 The pegasus/unicorn foals in that Creator castle set are somewhat of an outlier, since they seem to be playing the role in the set that minifigures normally would in a typical Creator playset. Usually animals in Creator playsets are sort of secondary to the minifigures, but in this one there seems to be no normal minifigures at all (possibly freeing up the budget that would normally go to minifigures to go to these animals instead). In any case, the set looks really cute! As a lapsed MLP fan as well as a fan of themes like Elves, I'm all for colorful fantasy critters even if they're maybe less broadly useful for real-world settings. Quote

That is actually a good point, when you look at it from this point of view it makes a lot sense. Quote
karrit Posted April 23 Posted April 23 So what are the chances those Pegasus and/or Unicorn figures end up in a Disney Fantasia set? Quote

I don't know how likely that specifically is, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are plans to use them elsewhere—especially the unicorn since it presumably uses a new mold with a horn attachment. They ran out of budget after they gave us some mini figs for that other castle set. Lol. Quote

My point wasn't that no sets have budget for figs/animals, my point was that in this particular set the foals are playing the role figs normally would (sturdy, detailed "characters" to populate the castle for role play purposes). I don't mean to suggest that brick built animals in other sets is purely a cost thing, because the brick built subjects of Creator 3-in-1 sets is usually not just a concession, it's an actual feature (brick built animals can be rebuilt with the rest of the parts in the set to allow for more varied subjects between the three builds). Wouldn't be surprised if the brick built horses in the main model of the other castle are replaced with some other animals or subject matter in the other two builds. Edited April 24 by Lyichir Quote

You have a point, I would not mind at all if they start including animals in Creator sets instead of minifigs since historically they have been lackluster in that theme. However with the castle minifigs and the foals things seems to change in the theme But as you say: 7 hours ago, Lyichir said: I don't know how likely that specifically is, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are plans to use them elsewhere—especially the unicorn since it presumably uses a new mold with a horn attachment. Would be even more shocking if they use budget in a Creator set to make a new animal mould. 9 hours ago, karrit said: So what are the chances those Pegasus and/or Unicorn figures end up in a Disney Fantasia set? Just a random idea that struck me when seeing the news about the Unicorn Castle and the descriptions of the animals. It reminded me of the scene in Fantasia that had all the Pegasus in different colors. I find it a stretch that the budget for this Creator set allowed for these animals so I suspect they were more likely designed for something in another theme. Quote

I dunno, I think this might be a speculative test to see how popular they are - and could spawn a whole sub theme of sets featuring colourful ponies/unicorns/pegauses as the ‘figures’ Quote

I'd say that a set based on that scene in Fantasia is highly unlikely, as that film (and that sequence in particular) doesn't typically get a whole lot of merchandise from Disney, outside of Sorcerer Mickey (and occasionally Chernabog). As far as licensed themes go, I think it's more likely that a unicorn could show up in the Harry Potter line. The only unicorn we see in the films is a dead one (R.I.P.), but a "live" unicorn with its foal, can be seen on the Forbidden Forest ride at Universal Studios. As far as unlicensed themes go, maybe a unicorn could show up in the Dreamzzz? One of the characters had unicorn pajamas in the very first wave of sets. Quote

I agree, but bases on leaks so far at least in HP do not suggest it, Dreamzzz I do not follow so closely so could have missed it there.. Quote

Dreamzzz is also hard to follow, as there’s no logic or consistency! ‘Microcollections’ are now a thing, and we already see Lego doing that on things like the new plushie mould across themes. I would not be surprised if other foal/pony variants showed up elsewhere - such as future CMF, or seasonal themed sets Quote

Ardelon Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Maybe the unicorn (and ponies) are set to appear in whatever "action and adventure" theme will replace Dreamzzz and MK? They would seem to be better geared to a girl-oriented minidoll theme, but TLG might be experimenting... Quote
Lion King Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Since the hyper about the aniamls form last year is at its lowest level, I waas able to order two gray goats, two tigers, two gorillas, two gorilla infants, one red panda, tworavens from Dreamzzz, one golden dragon from Ninjago, one white kitten, three butterflies. I forgot to order olive green adult and sand green baby crocodiles so i will order them next time. I love gorilla and infant molds, too cute together. It’s nice to ahve an updated tiger mold but too bad no stripes printed on its back! 3 minutes ago, Ardelon said: Maybe the unicorn (and ponies) are set to appear in whatever "action and adventure" theme will replace Dreamzzz and MK? I’m up for a girl-oriented theme, although not up for a minidoll one. I mean, i love to collect fantasty creatures in minifigure world! Quote
Roebuck Posted April 29 Author Posted April 29 A lot of now parts on PAB including some animals like the black parrot. A lot of parts are expensive, like the sheep is over twice as expensive as a few months ago, that is just plain greedy Quote
Black Falcon Posted April 30 Posted April 30 New pictures of the fox are out, and I have to say same as with the wolf mould they did a great job with it. I hope they won´t be to expensive once they hit PAB - and that the red ones come in a cheaper set whenever we will get those. Quote

I'm hoping that since they aren't dual-molded like the sheep, they will be closer to $3 a pop, like the Friends animals. Then again, the goat is also $5, and I don't think it is dual molded... Quote

Rather surprised that it doesn’t have a stud on the back, but at that size it’s hit & miss which animals do & don’t 8 minutes ago, JohnTPT17 said: I'm hoping that since they aren't dual-molded like the sheep, they will be closer to $3 a pop, like the Friends animals. Wolfman_Bricks Posted April 30 Posted April 30 I took the fox image and ran it through ChatGPT and asked it to give it a Red Orange Color scheme. It looks pretty good. Quote
