Tariq j Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 They sound excellent, lets hope the prices are good! Quote
Vodnik Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 25 GBP is about what the rancor pit was if I remember correctly. It was 60 GBP... Quote
namioik Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I hope the price rumor for the freezing chamber is not true. The cheapest play set I can think of in recent years would be the Geonosis duel with yoda and count dooku, which was $40 dollars Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Everyone is talking about this Maz Kanata, is he/she like the new 'Jabba'? I only ask that because of that image with Bosska in it. I mean is her Castle like a new Jabba's Palace? She seems to be a cross between Jabba (given that she's apparently a pirate leader and owns a castle) and a Jedi, because according to rumours, she's force-sensitive and knows quite a lot about Luke and his past... Back2topic: I don't think the Bespin set's price is that bad... Even if we do get just four minifigs, that's still enough to cover the basics (especially Lando) Quote
Cyberfounder Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Will Obi Wan starfighter finally gives us a phase 2 Cody? (If it is from episode III) Last chance! Edit: it says ROTS next to the starfighter so it is an episode III set True, we really need one!! Quote
Tariq j Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 The Hoth set sounds very interesting, and it seems (assuming its compatible with the echo base) Lego are going for a Jabba series again, which, last time, worked out very well. Anakins Pod sounds good, lets hope we get Padme and Shimi! escape pod sounds excellent as well, assuming that is the one from ANH then I hop we get more Sandtroopers. All the TFA sets sound very exciting, I hope one of the BP's is a Strormtrooper one. As for the Bespin set... Well it may not be a cloud city but at least Lego are giving us this, I really hope its done Palpatines arrest/Final Duel style. Quote

Even if we do get just four minifigs, that's still enough to cover the basics (especially Lando) I get the feeling that if there's only four minifigures they are likely to be Luke, Vader, Han and the Carbonite Block. Lando will probably get skipped over along with Boba Fett, Ugnaughts, Bespin Guards and both versions of Leia. But hopefully the Carbon Chamber is just the begining and we'll see those minifigures appear in more Bespin themed sets in the Summer wave. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Ugnaughts would be cool, with all the minor characters they've done a couple of those would be a minimum that this set deserves. Quote

I think a small set is actually a good sign because Bespin sets are long overdue and we need more than one! Han, the Carbonite Block and one or two Ugnauths would be perfect. The rest should be covered by other, bigger sets. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Why does everyone think Luke & Vader will be included in the Bespin set instead of Lando, Ugnaughts etc etc? Sure, the duel started in the carbon freeze chamber; but it's more likely they'll be included in a Bespin gantry set (the 'I am your father' moment). Otherwise we'll get duplicate figs in Bespin sets. Also, Vader in a set that's rumored to be small (and thus cheap)? Nah. Don't believe it. Quote
AndyRiley8 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Back to the forum today and I am greeted with this excellent news! The carbon freeze chamber is an instant buy for me, regardless of the size or minifig line up. I would love new versions of Luke, Leia and Lando, can't see them all being present though. If this is the start of a modular series of cloud city sets, it is even more exciting! The 'Hoth Attack' set sounds interesting..... If the suggestions that this could be a couple of elements from the previous Lego Hoth video are correct, that is good news for the potential 'UCS' set in October. Some other interesting sets there too, microfighters line up sounds good again and I am sure that TFA sets will interest me more after seeinng the film in December Quote
markw Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) I think if you rank the order of significance of the figures in that scene it would be something like this: Han (the guy being frozen) Vader (the guy calling the shots) Lando (the accomplice) I would be happy with these 3 as a bare minimum. An Ugnaught would be next up but is probably just wishful thinking on my part. Vader is intergral to the scene in my view, second only to Han. Why would Lando freeze Han without Vader there? Secondary are Leia, Chewie, Boba, Stormies and Bespin security (if they are even in the scene?) as they are all bystanders and unlikely to be included unless it's a big set. If they expand the scene to include the fight then Luke is a cert, and I can't see why they wouldn't include a couple of gantries, steps and detatchable hoses for them to mess around with. LegoFjotten Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Why does everyone think Luke & Vader will be included in the Bespin set instead of Lando, Ugnaughts etc etc? I believe it's more hoping that Luke will be in the set. Vader is a pretty key character in that scene (more so than Lando & the Ugnaughts), so IMO he is the most logical villain to go in the set. I can't see them making a freezing chamber set without a bad guy, so it would be either Vader or a Stormtrooper. I think if you rank the order of significance of the figures in that scene it would be something like this: Han (the guy being frozen) Vader (the guy calling the shots) Lando (the accomplice) I think Leia is more significant to the scene than Lando (even though I personally probably want a new Lando more than a new Leia). I will be disappointed if 3 out of 4 figs are repeats though. We still don't know if there will be more Bespin sets either, we can only hope... Quote
markw Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) We still don't know if there will be more Bespin sets either, we can only hope... It's not likely that figures will duplicate. No Luke in the Tydirium because he was available in Final Duel (I have 'acquired' a second poncho to add him to the command crew.) I guess it all depends on the hoped for other sets, much as we would love them I can't much interest in stand alone sets such as 'Ugnaught Junk Room' (Ugnaughts plus leg printed TC14? C-3PO in bits?) or 'Vader Sat At Dining Table'. 'Han & Torture Chamber' doesn't sound very Disney. I could see them doing a Luke + Vader Special Moment on the weathervane (with Luke's hand on a flick fire) and maybe a Cloud Car, but that's about it. It's screaming out for one big set that accomplishes all of these. Edited August 3, 2015 by markw Quote
LegoFjotten Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 It's not likely that figures will duplicate. I do hope you are right about duplicates, but I think if the set calls for it they will repeat a character without thinking too much of it. Licensed sets doesn't have a stellar track record with duplication overall. SW hasn't been too bad (except for maybe R2), but LotR, Indiana Jones, PotC, Superheroes... yikes! Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I believe it's more hoping that Luke will be in the set. I can't see them making a freezing chamber set without a bad guy, so it would be either Vader or a Stormtrooper. I agree he's a key character in that scene, but he's also a key character (even more) in the gantry duel scene. IF there will be more Bespin sets it would make sense if they spread all the characters over these sets. Having Lando/Vader/Han/etc pop in in multiple sets isn't very logical. (having Bespin guards, stormtroopers, ugnaughts in multipe sets does make sense though). So, IF Lego decide to release a set with the gantry they must include Luke & Vader (besides them no-one is in that scene). That's why I don't think they'll include Vader in the Carbon set. My bet: -Carbon set: Han, Lando, Ugnaught x2 -2 future sets: Cloud Car (Bespin guard, pilot, Lobot) and a Cloud City set (Luke, Vader, Leia (bespin gown), stormie) Quote

But I think Lando would be in the big set, especially if the Chamber is a 30 € set. Quote
GallardoLU Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 based on the inclusion of more Bespin sets, I would wager the Carbon set would be: Han, Lando, Boba, and Leia. Lando I cant completely count as a villain even if in that moment he basically is. and if we are relegating Vader to a Gantry set then someone else needs to be freezing Han, and that would be Boba. as much as I want some ugnaughts I just feel like they matter at all in that scene. also does anyone else fear getting Lando in a cheap set but no cape, only for him to come out later in a 100+ set With the cape? (ala Sabine Wren) Quote
CF Mitch Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Battlefront battlepack? Give me some OT Stormies (from the ISD *snip*and I'm buying a few hundred. Couldn't agree more. Those are exactly the stormies I want a LOT of Jedi Interceptor? Well, seeing as how Cody was released as a constraction set this year, I could see them making him into minifig form in this set. And if it is the blue one.....we would get a copper astromech DAMN IT! Why didn't I think of Commander Cody being included... my God, that would be so awesome indeed But there's no Clone Wars in the new Battlefront--one of many reasons why I'll skip the game. Eh, no. But the 501st Legion is a Stormtrooper division (too). They were originally known as Vader's Fist, so... They could still be in a battlepack that contains stormtroopers. Except I don't see how they would be distinguished as 501st, since Stormies don't have color coding or whatever... But apparently the stormtroopers that entered the Tantive IV in A New hope were 501st as well. Makes sense, since they were with Vader. Regards, Mitch Edited August 3, 2015 by CF Mitch Quote
nrg Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 OMG i found the Hall of Mirrors . I'm hoping for redesigned Jar Jar Quote
Borex Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 If the carbon freeze chamber will be somewhat like the rancor set, my guess would be just one more playset in the summer wave, and a ship. (And if we are lucky that ship will have a platform). I expect four figures with the carbon freeze chamber: Lando, Han, an Ugnaught and Boba. Even if we dont get an other bespin set imho that would be the best line-up. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) From where do we have the info that the Carbonite Freezing Chamber will only be 30 Dollars? If so, this set would very supposably be garbage and wouldn't be the begin of a modular CC, but only a stand-alone set (such as the Final Duel) which could never look decent! In any case, I can't imagine the set including more than 3-4 minifigures: - Han - Han in carbonite - Ughunaut (- Boba Fett or Imperial Officer) (-Chewbacca) Imo it's excluded that Luke and Vader are included in this set since their main scene is on this "bridge" from where Luke falls down. And Lea, a Stormie, Lando, Lobot and a Bespin Guard are much more supposably part of a lodge, a corridor, a landing platform or a Cloud Car. Klaus-Dieter Edited August 3, 2015 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Lobot Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 25 GBP is about what the rancor pit was if I remember correctly. 75005 Rancor Pit had an RRP of £59.99 if I remember correctly (link) If it's around that price point, it's in T-16 and AAT territory, but I'll be happy with anything. And, it's possible that they'll count Han twice.....pre-carbonite and post! Quote

Not necessarily, if they did it like all the Jabba set from 2013 I think it will be good. I also thought, (from a financial point of view) it was easier to spend smaller amounts of money over a perioed of time as oppose to spending £200+ all at once, also considering alot of people will be spending alot of money on the TFA wave in December, it will be good to get some cheaper sets to spend money on.
