What is your favorite Ninjago character variant?

As we near the end of SI years of Ninjago, I decided to look back at how far the ninja have come. There have been THIRTEN different ninja variants released over the course of five years, SIX different Nya variants, and SEVEN Sensei Wu variants!

To celebrate this achievement, I whipped together a poll: What is your favorite character variant?

Personally, I like the ninjas' Deepstone Armor and Jungle variants the most. Nya's 2015 Samurai X armor is the most show-accurate, but her Deepstone Armored variant definitely steels the show. As for Wu, I actually prefer his 2012 variant, although the 2015 variant is rather nice.

Nya's deepstone armor is the same thing as her other 2015 varient with the exception of the black shoulder armor.

I think it's Nya from the Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty rather than her samurai outfit.

My favorite ninja version : Jungle but Kimono version is very cool, especially if you add armor shoulder like the tv show.

My favorite Nya version : 2014, may be the only figure from 2014 I have appreciate.

My favorite Wu version : Black Robes, the best version !

Favorite Gi variant: Kimono. It has a certain elegance to it that only the Techno Gi has come close to conquering. Each of the Ninja's main elemental color blended so well with the black, it was almost criminal. The Deepstone armor is a bit too black in my opinion. I have to get them in my hands before I decide.

Favorite Nya Variant: 2014's Samurai X felt like the best of both sides of Nya. It was a Samurai X suit of armor styled in an ornate fashion like her original kimono from 2011. With the darker tones and chain mail designs, this one takes the cake. I have to see her Ninja Gi in hand though. I feel my opinion will probably change.

Favorite Wu variant: So wait. This one is coming in a new book right? Anyway. I've always loved the traditional style Kimonos for Wu. I felt like he strayed from that with the black Kimono from 2011 all the way to 2014's Evil Wu (although that was probably against his will). This is his return to the basics and I feel it is quite triumphant. I'm also quite happy to finally have gold accents to go along with that gold straw hat he got in 2012.

I was very happy when we finally got hairpieces, though. But the suits are just superb! Kimono, Deepstone and Zukin really stand out to me, the latter one being a more than worthy reboot of the 2011 Gi's, IMO.

Thanks! I hope we'll get alternate expressions for the ninja in the future! Skylor and Zane had them, so I don't see why the other ninja shouldn't.

Mine was the ZX one (season 2)

Ninja: ZX. Each suit was unique to one and focused on overcoming each of the ninja's physical limitations, to help them overcome their mental limitations (full potential form/NRG).

Either these or the kimonos. Those were classy.

Nya: Season 5 variant. It looked like a legit samurai rather than a technology assisted one. I liked how it didn't need a helmet as well.

Sensei Wu: Master Wu. In the show, the gold contrasted with the white and grey so well. It beat the stone army variant.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I thought it was time to add the new ninja suit variants. Feel free to change your vote!

I've changed my vote for Nya. Her Airjitzu Gi is even better than the Deepstone Armor variant!

I absolutely love the deep stone armour, it has become my go to armour for my display models in the second destiny's bounty on top of my bookshelf. Each ninja though is wearing their respective hair piece instead of ninja hood and a bandana (I gave kai the spare dark red bandana that came with Ronin's fig, jay has a dark blue that comes with any ghost fig and Nya has the traditional brighter blue that comes with a jay fig).

Lloyd however has his hood from his younger self fig and is also wearing a dark green cape which I took from the mandarin. Each ninja has an individual lightsaber hilt which in my mind works in the same way as a lightsaber, but when used in combat, is for the elemental blades, which each ninja now has including Wu thanks to the skybound sets. I even gave Morro a spare elemental blade which came from the chain cycle set. Nadakhan has the old elemental blade which came from Coles final battle set as it is a little darker green than the ghost E blades (which both Cole and morro have)

To top it all off, my Zane has the energy shield from the battle for ninjago city set (though I don't have that set so I swiped the blue shield from a China set).

My diorama of misfortunes keep however has the ninjas in their airjitsu outfits, again with some mild variations...

I have converted to Deepstone. Although the stylistic merging with the black of the Kimonos were nice, the strength that the Deepstone Armors present in their design is very noticeable. It shows off the disparity of the Ninja to keep from possession, but also shows that, despite being Ninja, they know when things are dangerous, and will equip themselves accurately for the situation.

I'd also say that the Deepstone variation of Samurai X is better than the 2014 variant. It's traditional, yet comes off more menacing than even the original Samurai X armor gave off. It also improves on the Deepstone design, as gunmetal gray stands out oddly compared to the black shoulder panels.

Gold Wu is still perfect.

I don't have all the variants yet but so far i just LOVE the simplicity of the junge look. Some of the other armors look almost too souped up, too sophisticated, too "heavy" if that makes any sense for a NINJA. So yeah, the jungle ones are beautifully simple and elegant in look.
