  1. It all started with this small tank based off of the m3 Lee, I wasnt very happy with it but I loved the engine, so I kept it around I later redid the turret to be more round This was the first design that was called the Arnam, named after a famous admiral in the Legion Republic (this is a whole universe my friend and I came up with) despite this being a Senate tank It had 2 main guns, but was very tall (I was still obsessed with the engine) and track protection, I don't have chain link pieces on hand, so the tracks are bare I then retooled it into the Arnam Mk II, which had a decent slope to the from armor, but was built in the same frame as the original tank I had built roughly a year prior This version incorporated a new version of track protection that would be used to this day Finally, after a solid year of redesigns I came to a difficult realization. I needed to reduce the detail of the engine compartment in order to have the tank work both structurally and aesthetically. I removed the old droid bodies and halved the overall height of the model. This is the Arnam Mk V The driver gets in through this hatch in the bottom the engine bay has been reduced to a lever and a telephone piece to allow the height reduction. This is the first tank I will give you the tech specs of. It has 1 AG (weapons manufacturer) TC (weapon type) 413 110mm cannon 3.5 inches of armor on the sides and rear 4.5 inches of armor on the front and turret Crew of 3, commander, gunner, driver (no loader as the gun is auto-loading) Multiple add one for various missions The commander's cupola can be replaced with a 30mm auto cannon and 2 .50 caliber machine guns The missile interference system (MIS) which messes with incoming guided projectiles and makes them not hit their target And the cluster of guided missiles that can be fired at enemy aircraft However there was room for improvement. I felt that the turret was too much like a WWII panther tank and not like a modern tank. So last week I ripped apart the old turret and built the Arnam Mk VII It has 1 AG TC 424 150mm cannon 4.5 inches of armor on the sides and rear 5.5 inches of armor on the front and turret Crew of 3, commander, gunner, driver (no loader as the gun is auto-loading) Various add one similar to the Mk V, with the exception of the MIS, as this is now built into the turret Optional 20mm auto cannon in the hull (adds a 4th crew member) Secondary turret in place of commander's cupola And 2 different sensor packages There are no missiles, as the role of a missile firingntank was delegated to the Honey Badger super-heavy I also added this hinged piece to cover up the gun when elevating The driver's viewport is underneath the 1x2 dark red tile I will likely update with either a stud.io file or chain link pieces, whichever comes first Stud.io model is here. https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=246061
  2. Here's a small playset idea. I've had it on the back burner (please excuse the dust!) not really sure if it 'works' or not, but it's kind of unbelievable that Lego hasn't given us this in an official set yet. This represents a quarter of the room... it would take a minimal investment to create another 1/2 or make a full circle but I'm not sure it's necessary. It was important to me that the senate pods were simple and small. They should be able to to whipped around by Yoda and Palps. I had some color in them but they didn't look right. I think all medium stone grey is the way to go. I'd like to see an official set like this around the $30 price point, a la carbonite chamber. Thanks for looking. Feedback welcome.
  3. Hi everyone! As some of you might have seen on Flickr or Rebrick, I am participating in the Freighter Wars-Contest on Rebrick. For this I created the Corellian Senator's ship and gave it the name Corellian Eclipse. Don't ask me how that name makes any sense, it just sounded cool! :P After all, does Millennium Falcon really make sense? :D I was inspired to build this by the book The Millennium Falcon Owner's Workshop Manual: Star Wars (Haynes Manuals) and various ideas I found on the allmighty internet. I'd also like to thank my buddy Inthert for allowing me to use some elements of his Millennium Falcon and credit goes to him for the visualisation of the models interior rooms. Now, on to the build itself! As the title suggests the Corellian Eclipse is basically the armoured variant of the YT-1300 with a more enclosed central cockpit, more conventional (and reliable) hyperdrive engines and a much more sealed hull. This, in my eyes, was the perfect basis for a luxury spaceship, so instead of the usual freighter-interior, I equipped the ship with a much more elegant and luxurios interior, worthy of a Republic Senator. And to show it's status of diplomatic immunity in the galaxy I added some red markings, ever so slightly reminiscent of the Senate's seal. I think the pictures can speak for themselves from here on. If you have any questions though, feel free to ask them in the comments section and I'll be sure to come back to you! I'd love to hear what you think of the model and the overall idea of the ship itself. Constructive criticism is of course also very welcome! Cheers, Kit
  4. I hope it is not too late too post for the community build. Anyways, here is my latest MOC. I had completed it on saturday, but was only able to post this yesterday. I think after all it had taken me about 6 hours. For much months the idea of using dome topsfor a senate building. intitially, I wanted to do just the building, but later I couldn't resist to make a sort of interior too. I could have used a plate build dome, but I wanted it to have a smoother look. more pics on my Flickr account. http://www.flickr.co...s/77259875@N05/ overview: the top layer is builded like a Lego Architecture set, with the 1x8 tiles on the side. I wanted to photoshop a "Senate Building" text on it, but I don't know how. Could anyone explain how to easily put text in a picture, so it looks real? reference pic: actually my MOC isn't angled enough, but Lego still hasn't produced Brick, round corner 6 x 6 x 2 Dome top. I had to improvise the statues with teeth, it's ashame there are no straight versions. without the "roof": The "roof" is attached with 4 studs. when removed, you can see the Galactic Senate's Grand Convocation Chamber. The Grand Convocation Chamber: reference pic: I made it Light bluish gray in stead of Dark bluish gray because of several reasons: Because I thought Light bley looks better, the outside of the base already is light bley, and because I simply hadn't got the right pieces and enough in dark bley . Bonus pic: (bad) photoshopped image of the Senate's C&C welcome!
  5. Hi, I just like to share my Cuusoo projects will all of y'all, since you're all SW-fans. Of course i'm aware that those projects are not likely to get made at all. But for me, it was kinda nice to develop some Lego-designs and I finally understood how to work with LDD. I drew myself some mini-figures (the accent on all these sets are the mini-figures by the way) and connected them with my LDD-designs. My main reason for these designs is that sometimes when you have an idea stuck in your mind, you want to execute that idea in the hope TLG will see it and gets inspired and uses some of those ideas :-) Anyhow, my first Cuusoo-project was called Star Wars Universe Packs and contained six boxes with five mini-figures in it, a stand and a mini-building. A little like the Planet-series. Biggest reason for those packs is of course the need of more typical SW universe people (the kind that won't show up in other Lego SW boxes, because they're not main characters) for us to make our Lego SW world more complete and detailed. The second project is all about the Mos Eisley Cantina. The thing is, we need a new cantina. A proper one. The set 4501 isn't sufficient in any ways (ok, except for bringing us Greedo). In trying to inspire TLG i designed a Mos Eisley Cantina in packs. So in order to complete your Cantina you'll need all the packs. The reason for this is of course the number of mini-figures. If you want a real SW Mos Eisley cantina you need a cantina-band, you'll need some space weirdo's, a bartender, some good folk, and a snitch with some bad folk. I thought this was a clever idea for TLG to avoid one big set with too many mini-figures and not being super expensive. I'm not the greatest Lego-designer so the designs may be pretty rough. I hope you'll like them, i just wanted to share with y'all! Oh, if you like to see them on Cuusoo: SW Universe Packs Mos Eisley Main Cantina Cantina Band Pack Cantina Benches Pack Cantina Entrance Pack
