  1. I'm not sure weither this is the right forum, but I actually got an interview on TV. The video is in Dutch but it gives you a nice view on the start of the Greenville layout and it also shows a bit more of my ship the ''Halve Maen''. There are also quite a few MOCs in there I have not posted yet. I will keep you updated on the Greenville layout and everything, but if you have any questions you can ask them here. i hope you enjoy the interview! http://www.omroepfle...bouwen-met-lego PS. Is it possible to embed the video, I don't know how to?
  2. Watched this documentary last night on Channel 4 in the UK. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/inside-lego-at-christmas Included a brief chat with the designers of the Star Wars TFA line, some glued Xmas builds by Bright Bricks, a guy who was making a Lego compatible board game and some other bits and bobs. My take: they made a potentially fascinating subject boring by focusing exclusively on people rather than lego creations. eg. they were at the Great Western Brickshow in Swindon but didn't show any of the fan builds or layouts. Instead we got endless interviews with staff at the Lego call centre (which, to be honest, might aswell be any corporate call centre dealing with any product, anywhere in the world). I understand the film maker's desire to find a human interest angle - but wish they gave a bit more screen time to some expert builder's cool creations (and not just that 'Merry Christmas' build which was a bit basic for my tastes).

  4. Be-Leaguered aired about an hour ago in the UK, did you see it? If you did, share your opinions here
  5. Greetings! Thought of sharing my latest MOC. Some people might already know about this, as it's on CUUSOO and also on my Flickr page. A Douglas DC-3 airplane in Buffalo Airways colors: Some of you might remember my first DC-3 MOC, also on CUUSOO: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/17534 Well it happened that Mikey McBryan (https://twitter.com/mikeymcbryan) of the Buffalo Airways, a company operating an entire fleet of real DC-3s and other classic planes, found that project and then contacted me with his idea that we could make a Buffalo Airways DC-3 project on CUUSOO, me taking care of the model and he focusing on the promotion business. The Buffalo aviation family and their planes star in this TV show Ice Pilots NWT as well. I confess, I have never watched it myself - I don't watch anything on TV, since I don't have a TV. This DC-3 design is smaller than my first one, that is, more affordable and easier to handle, in order to have better chances in the CUUSOO Review - if this project gets that far. Maybe FOLs here on Eurobricks like to help? We've seen how IP-connected licence-requiring ideas tend to succeed at getting 10k supports on CUUSOO far more easily than all-original ideas. So I was thinking, if they gotta be licenced stuff, at least be something that makes sense as a Lego set idea, and can appeal to others too (regular kids & dedicated FOLs) and not just the particular special interest group. So I'm thinking, a cool airplane with both display & play value, can't go wrong, right? A few more pics: Some pieces are not yet available in colors used (especially green) so I had to PAINT them! Like my bigger DC-3, this too has retractable landing gears, operated from the knob: And of course some essentials for playability, like the luxury of interior accessible via detachable top sections (a pilot can sit in the cockpit, passengers and/or cargo space in the back): If you liked this project to have its chance in the final CUUSOO Review, please support - or just check out for more information like piece count and measures: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/51472 Anyway, my MOC ain't mine no more. As a part of our deal, Mikey paid for the model and I shipped it to Canada. Bye bye baby! But I'm sure she'll be loved there at her new home. And just a little note if there are some new folks here who don't know about my other projects on CUUSOO and might be interested. http://lego.cuusoo.c.../Ssorg#projects
  6. This is a set of customs I've been working on over the past week, They include some video game characters, a TV character, a webcomic character, a tabletop game character, and two other original customs. This is my Warhammer 40000 Commissar, he is armed with a brickarms apoc SMG and a brickarms chainblade. The coat is from a castle set and the hat is a badly customised police cap. This is my Duke Nukem fig, ironically, he took the least time to make, unlike his latest game. This is my Gordon Freeman fig, equipped with a gravity gun and wearing a HEV suit. This is my commander William Riker fig. the torso is custo, with black sharpie (hence the lack of quality) This is Death of insanely overpowered fireballs, from Irregular Webcomic, I will say that I copied exactly the authors design, and that this fig is entirely unoriginal. This is my 1920s gangster, equipped with a Brickarms Thompson M1928 SMG, he's about to fit some chumps for some concrete shoes. This is a Mannequin, and probably my laziest Custom minifig. Please give Comments and Criticism. I hope you enjoyed these.
  7. A livingroom, probably from the late 70s.
