Location: Wastyria - H09 Tags: Octan, Exploration Note: my contest entry is a rebuild of the amazing Aquatic Exploration scene by "Soccerkid6," which you should definitely go check out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isaac Redsyn Mission Log: Another water mission this week, but I got to drive a boat for the first time. And not any standard boat at that, the "Dragonfly" is a pretty nifty piece of machinery, or maybe I should say pieces of machinery, as it's really two vehicles in one. The Dragonfly is designed to transport, launch and recover the "Guppy," an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle which can dive as deep as 10,000 meters! There's room on the boat for a second crew member and space to store a full diving suit. The second crew member can also remotely pilot the "Guppy" from their pod. The "Guppy" is primarily used for fast reconnaissance and mapping; once it finds an area of interest we can send in one of the larger subs for sampling and in-depth exploration. Speaking of larger subs, I've also gotten to watch the final certification dives for the Deep Exploration Submersible "Ophelia." The sub had a different name, but was unofficially christened "Ophelia" after the first test vehicle sank to the bottom and imploded during a remote controlled test dive. All in all, it's a nice day to be on the water (and not under it). Isaac, out. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall views: Minisub recovery: Minisub loaded and secured: The "Ophelia" Behind the scenes: You can see full-sized pics on my flickr. Thanks for viewing!

This is the Turtles submarine I made for my son. It is based on the Nickelodeon cartoon series (season 1 ep 21: "Karai's Vendetta"). I made the LDD design a while ago but I had troubles finding the right parts, so finally here is the real build. (the LDD file can be downloaded from the Lego Digital Designer gallery) Let me know what you think of it. Dimi Ps: I have just read that LEGO will also launch a Turtles sub next Summer? I am curious to see it.

This is the Leif Erikson, Hagbard Celine's submarine from the Illuminatus! trilogy. I'm still working on the interior, going with a steampunkesque wood/gold/metal look. This MOC already features 3 Torpedo banks (fully playable), 8 intercontinental missiles, large flak canons and 8 fully functional engines. All in minifig scale (is there any other scale? ;) ) I will post updates when I have some progress on the MOC, that I can cram into an image. Hope you enjoy my take on this iconic (at least for those who read the books) vessel.

Hey All, A redesign of an older MOC. Wanted to included a few play features in the new build. (The ORCA-II sports two flick-fire torpedoes and one flick-fire harpoon that can be used to haul in the submersible's catch. The ORCA-II also has at its disposal a scout drone called Remora) (Remora launching for a mission) (ORCA-II hauls in a rather ornery catch for the day) Feedback is, as always, welcome rongYIREN

Location: B06, Sorn Tags: MANTIS, Vehicle, Exploration Job: Driver Start Log: Another water mission this week, but I got to drive a boat for the first time. And not any standard boat at that, the HC-2 is a pretty nifty piece of machinery, or maybe I should say pieces of machinery, as it's really two vehicles in one. Plus I got to see one of the new MANTIS subs in action. Our task was to chart as much of B06 as possible, to decide on best locations for future MANTIS bases, refineries, and comm stations. Even though it's mostly water, there's some pretty scenery on Sorn. See more pictures here: http://brickbuilt.or...tic-Explore.php Thanks for looking

I hope this is the right theme for presenting my small Arctic research submarine series X2. I don't have much orange bricks, so that's why some details are missing. I also made only top of the submarine, because it will be seen on bigger MOC which will have blue baseplates for sea and no bottom part of submarine is needed. This "Orange stuff" is little boring, so I made some environment around it.

After flying around the galaxy for just over a month, Imperial Survey Corps soldier, Lord Tyrus, had finally been told he might have some luck in delivering his 'thank you' message on Mon Calamari. He had absolutely no idea why. Who (apart from the natives, of course) would want to go to that planet? A ball of rock covered to every inch in water. The only way to travel across the planet to the few and far between floating cities was either by boat or by submarine. Apparently speeders didn't work as the repulsorlifts couldn't repel properly on water, but he highly doubted that, as he'd driven his old speeder across lakes on his home planet. That seemed like a lifetime ago. Now he hardly remembered it. He wanted to actually see something other than water so he hired a mini-sub from a Mon Calamari dealer, just by the floating landing platform he landed his shuttle on, to try and see some underwater fauna. That particular sub had large, ovoid windows on either side of it with a good view of the wildlife. He checked the distance from the closest city on the range-finder by the window that enabled him to get the necessary data he needed, without having to go to the main cockpit. There was only a few hours before they got there. He sighed. By speeder, he could go more that 5 times the 50 kph the sub could manage. He didn't bother to ask the Stormtrooper behind him why he was waving. He had got fed up with them after just 10 standard minutes with them. By now, he had just decided to pretend they weren't there, which he would have given an arm and a leg for it to be true. If had looked around, he would have seen trooper 27491 swimming around desperately, trying to escape the jaw of a shark. Trooper 44783, seemed to have not noticed the shark and was just waving at him. Lord Tyrus sighed again. He was nearly at the city now, he just hoped Fett was still there... And a bonus picture: And for the rest of the story, look below...

Location: B-06 Sorn Tags: Kawashita, Submarine, B06, Sorn The Lifeblood of the Sea == Start transmission == Commander Turtle: Aera Lure, what is your status? Aera Lure: I'm about ready to depart for Traig IV. My team is already en route. Commander Turtle: There is a new development. I would like to ask you to instead proceed to Sorn. I have just rescued Dr. Fabian Killjoy. His discovery there has our scientists excited. Please go talk to his colleague, Dr. Traize Anastasia. He will be directing the mission. Aera Lure: I'm on my way! == End transmission == Dr. Anastasia's Lab Aera Lure: Where o' where is the good doctor? I guess I'm early. Aera Lure: *sees comm panel Aera Lure: While I'm waiting, I suppose I could use this to contact my friend Blackhawk who finally finished his training on Orinshi and is performing a recon mission on Guinevere. Aera Lure: Scrambled. I'm going to have to readjust these settings. == Start transmission == Aera Lure: Blackhawk, are you there? * squawk **** screee **** pffzzzz Blackhawk: Yeah I'm here - unless this thing falls out of the sky! Aera Lure: Oh, you're having trouble? Sorry to hear that. Blackhawk: Damn straight I'm having trouble! The *bleeping* *bleep* doesn't *bleep* and if the *bleeping* thrusters *bleep* again I'm going to *bleep*! I swear it's almost as if someone was playing a practical joke on me. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you? Aera Lure: No, I don't. Who would do such a thing? Aera Lure: Hohohoho.. hah.. MUAH ahahaha!! Blackhawk: What was that? I didn't quite get that. Aera Lure: Oh, nothing. *ahem* Sorry, you're breaking up. Good luck on your mission! == End transmission == Dr. Anastasia: Sorry to have kept you waiting Ms. Lure. I'm Dr. Anastasia. Aera Lure: Nice to meet you doctor. No problem at all. I was just advising a colleague. Call me Aera. Dr. Anastasia: I'm sure you have heard that our esteemed colleague Dr. Fabian Killjoy was rescued on Sorn. He brings back with him valuable information about an undersea lifeform that metabolizes Awesomnium. We'd like to gather some more information about this creature and, if possible, return here with a specimen. I understand you are a pilot. Would you be up for this task? Aera Lure: Of course! Dr. Anastasia: I'll need you to bring a team of four of my research assistants to the location we've selected. I have entered the coordinates into your sub and I will observe the operation from here in the lab. I have connected this comm panel to the camera arm on your sub. Once we have identified the lifeform, my researchers will take it from there. I spent the afternoon scrambling the comm pad's network protocol to be sure Octan or Mantis will not intercept the transmissions. so no need to worry about that. Aera Lure: !!! Dr. Anastasia: Something wrong? Aera Lure: No, no. Not at all! I just realized that I have some preparations to do on the sub prior to the start of the mission. I had best be off and let you finish your preparation as well. Never hurts to doublecheck... Dr. Anastasia: She sure left in a hurry. I wonder what that was all about... Dr. Anastasia: !!! == Mission underway == == Start transmission == Dr. Anastasia: You should be coming up to the coral reef shortly. Aera Lure: Yes doctor. I can see it ahead. Slowing speed and engaging the floodlights. Deploying the arm. Aera Lure: I'm starting the video feed now. Are you getting this Doctor? Dr. Anastasia: Yes I am. The connection is good. Look for a golden cone-shaped creature. It's a kind of polyp that... Dr. Anastasia: Oh! That's it! The Decahydromapthylrematoratron! I am sending the information to my team. Please proceed with the extraction. Aera Lure: Roger that. == End transmission == Aera Lure: No action down here, but it sure is peaceful. Wonder how Blackhawk is faring? Just fine I'm sure. He's one pilot I could trust with anything - even a plane that barely flies.
