  1. Laboratory, facility, must we quibble over terminology, Bob? For a secret research facility to be here in Alabatha, it has to be staffed by someone. And those someones, having access to the facility and the secrets, would be the most likely to be able to pass on that knowledge to the communists. They must either be the communists we're looking for or be unwitting pawns of the communists. I think it's the best lead we have. If one of us does work for the facility it would be best for them to come forward and help us now before we come across that information on our own. Those are my thoughts while we're meandering down this long tunnel. Does Dr. Lloyd have a medical specialty or is he a general practitioner?
  2. I'm here, mayor. I'd like to know which remaining members of our town have the education necessary to have been working in a laboratory.
  3. Sorry, Walter, but "crap crap crap" is not a valid duel sequence. And I didn't almost use Johann's 1st sequence as his 3rd. Nope... Wizard Duel Round 3 Johann Peterschmut | 4------Vs.-----Walter Kovacs | 2 Mid ~ 0 -------------------- Mid ~ 0 Crucio ~ 1 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Crucio ~ 0 Low ~ 0 ------------------- High ~ 1 Expelliarmus ~ 0 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Health: 3 --------------------- Health: 1 The duelists start off round three by missing each other entirely. Johann then unleashes his cruciatus curse once again. Walter tries to turn the spell around on him but Peterschmut shields himself from it. The moment the shield fades, Walter shoots off another curse at the Slytherin and this time it hits. The spell knocks the wind out of Johann but he manages to disarm the Ravenclaw as the round ends. Congrats, Admiral. Tough luck, Walter. Update your profiles accordingly.
  4. Here's mine. Frankfurt Flashburn, Hufflepuff and Dueler Extraordinaire
  5. Wizard Duel Round 2 Johann Peterschmut | 4------Vs.-----Walter Kovacs | 4 Low ~ 1 -------------------- Mid ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Crucio ~ 1 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Expelliarmus ~ 0 ------------------- Low ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Crucio ~ 0 Health: 4 --------------------- Health: 2 The second round starts off with a bang literally as Johann hits Walter with a curse that creates a cloud of smoke on one side of the raised dueling dais. Kovacs fires a spell from within the cloud but is blocked by a shield charm. The smoke dissipates enough for the Slytherin to hit Walter with a cruciatus curse. As the Ravenclaw finds his feet again, Peterschmut disarms him. Walter dives for his wand and casts a Crucio at his opponent but Johann blocks it with another shield charm. Send for round 3 when ready.
  6. Yes, but it's normally the gas tank catching fire that causes an explosion not the engine. If we were to ever try to take a wall down like that you would want a controlled explosion not just lighting a car on fire and stepping back.
  7. You're probably right, congressman. I would like to go with the group as we follow the tunnel south. Are there any strange sounds in the tunnel?
  8. I think explosives are more likely to cause an actual cave-in than bust through the wall. And captain, I don't think car engines explode. Besides do you know how heavy those things are? Let's try to think before you end up killin' someone by accident.
  9. Good thinking, Simmons! I would like to assist Farmer Simmons in trying to find any opening mechanisms. I would like to search the floor for any bumps or anything that might conceal one as well.
  10. Wizard Duel Round 1 Johann Peterschmut | 5------Vs.-----Walter Kovacs | 5 Protego ~ 0 -------------------- Low ~ 0 Low ~ 0 ----------------------- High ~ 1 High ~ 0 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Crucio ~ 1 ------------------- Mid ~ 0 Expelliarmus ~ 0 ----------------------- Crucio ~ 0 Health: 4 --------------------- Health: 4 Slytherin Peterschmut challenges the Ravenclaw Kovacs to a duel in the dueling club. They bow to one another and begin. Walter starts with a low spell but Joahnn blocks with a shield charm. Undaunted, Walter tries a high spell and connects, sending the Slytherin reeling. Both duelists miss with their next spells. Johann then casts the cruciatus curse cuasing the Ravenclaw to squirm around on the floor. Walter tries to retaliate in kind but is disarmed by the slytherin. Send for round 2 when ready.
  11. How recently was the cave-in? Shall we head South, then?
  12. We've already had brick-built chickens so.... If the goat they're talking about is the grey horse talked about previously, I'll be a little disappointed. I guess I'd rather have rideable donkey or mule before I'd like a goat. Not that a goat would be terrible.
  13. I can adjudicate for you if you trust me to not mess it up.
  14. I'll go into the tunnel.
  15. I really like the look of the ship but would never pay $60 for it. The minifigs don't interest me too much. I don't like the look of the clone wars figs. I already have 2 Anakins that I really only use the hairpieces of. If you have your pictures hosted on Flickr, you can resize them using the picnic editor. If you don't have the premium service you have to save them as new pics but that just allows you to save the old ones for if someone wants a closer look. It's what I do.
  16. Very cool! I love how you can store all the pieces within it so it could sit out as display game. I saw a set in a museum once and this looks very accurate as for as size and design goes.
  17. Could've been worse. Had either of us switched our expelliarmus' would be down to one.
  18. I entered as well. It was kind of awkward filling out the form, though. There wasn't an age limit but the wording of the form implied that a parent was filling it out for a child. I thought it was worth a shot. Were I to win, my current collection would be dwarfed by what I put on the list.
  19. If not this tunnel, perhaps there are more tunnels that also lead to the secret lab. Simmons, since you live so close to this entrance, have you noticed anything odd around the store? Have you seen anyone hanging around your farm that wouldn't have normally? The communists have to know about this lab thing in order to have spies here so it stands to reason the communists are people who would have had access to the lab or access to the people who worked in it.
  20. I would think you have to stick with evil or neutral spells. In the books you could know both but for the purposes of the game, probably not.
  21. I would like to check if there is a light source in the tunnel. If not I would ask if any of the police have a flashlight and if they might go first. If that fails then look for lightswitches or pull strings. Then, I'll follow the others into the tunnel.
  22. So now we know what the commies are after (secret research facility)! Those secret passages are even more important now. The government probably would have built off of them. Maybe one of us works at this facility... Anyone want to say anything now? I guess we should stick together and investigate the farmhouse later. I would like to enter the store whenever Ralph unlocks it.
  23. I would like to enter the farmhouse also.
  24. Well, congressman, you're as helpful as always. I would like to know if there are any military bases or scientific labs in the area surrounding Alabatha that might be a target for the commies. Since the farmhouse is already accessible maybe some of us should investigate in there as well. Even if the passage is not in the farmhouse, we can at least try to clear Simmons name. The more suspects we can discount the better.
