I found it on youtube. I sometimes look at that channels latest videos to see some of the cool and helpful things people come up with, and I saw your creation on there and was like "YEEEEEEEY!!!!!!". -

There is only one word to describe your video, awesome, amazing, excellent, fantastic, superb, wonderful, marvellous, and really rather good! As Siskel and Ebert would say ..... I have made a few rigs for video camera's myself and know they can be tricky, you have an excellent range of motion there without getting any of the rig in shot. Nice one! -

I think you're right, I missed that. That would make the motor even more powerful. I guess that's why the chart now shows it's power to be about 4.25W. Well, I guess now we know what's best to use in a dragster (just to bring it back on topic ) -

New style of crawling begins
allanp replied to z3_2drive's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Having the servo motor in the axle makes much more sence than having the drive motor in the axle, kinda like an electric power steered axle (but without the link to a working steering wheel ). -

It looks identical to the original. Thankyou Just a quick note about the buggy motor and the V2 receiver. In the crawler the reciever has 2 L-motors on one port which equates to (again according the Philos ever useful website) about 1 amp at some load. Which means each port should now be able to handle one buggy motor at some load. -
Proper RCs like the nitros and the high end electrics are awesome, some reaching over 100mph! Lego can bearly reach 10 mph (the crawler does what? 1mph?!) which puts it's RCs sqarely in the realm of toys for under 5 year olds! RC can add to the technic experience, but only a tiny bit. Technic CANNOT do RC well like HPI can. It NEVER will. If RC is what you want, don't buy technic. The unimog shows what technic does best, better than anything else. The crawler (whilst giving us a servo, which i'm very greatful for) shows what technic does worse than anyone else (RC) without having anything else up it's sleeve (like mechanicle authenticity, realism and complexity).

Thankyou very much for trying to explain. I didn't think to calculate from looking at those graphs, so we potentially have a third set of figures for output power. rpm/60 x (2 pi) x torque (in newton meters) = Watts so the XL motor equals: 113/60 x (2 x 3.142) x 0.225 = 2.663 W Seems kinda right (table on Philos page shows 2.21W @ 9v and bar chart for power shows about 2.55W) So using the same methed buggy motor equals: 413/60 x (2 x 3.142) x 0.088 = 3.806 W WTF????? From personal experience the buggy motor is the most powerful, but 3.806 W ? That's very different from anything Philo said it was, so now i'm even more confused. BTW i've made an ungeared XL motor (basicly just removed all the gearing). It's faster than the old 9v ungeared motor now, it's a beast! -

Here's what I don't get. According to the tables on philos website, @ 9v the XL motor produces 2.21W of mechanicle power compared to 2.38W for the buggy motor @ 9V. However the graphs shows the XL motor being more powerful. So which one is more powerful? -

Wouldn't boter with silver champ. 8448 is good but 8880 is way better. 8868 is just awesome. 8865 was great for it's time, the steering is still better than any of todays "super"cars. Still worth the money if you can find one at a good price. So for me, out of these 5 it's between 8880 and 8868. Both are awesome tho i'de probably lean towards 8868. -

We do speak it. Chuffed is in the Oxford dictionary, it means "very pleased". BTW I looked for the word "heh" and it isn't in the Oxford dictionary so just accept that you are an American who doesn't know English however being American you like to tell the rest of us how to speak, act and live and we'll forget about it -

I know you're a yank that doesn't know any better but here in ENGLAND, where ENGLISH is spoken, chuffed is a very common word -
