  1. Just made a quick list of all the minifigures included in each set: Freeing Dobby: -Harry Potter -Dobby -Lucius Malfoy Quidditch Match: -Madam Hooch -Harry Potter -Olliver Wood -Draco Malfoy -Marcus Flint Hagrid's Hut: -Hagrid -Harry Potter -Ron Weasley -Hermione Granger The Burrow: -Harry Potter -Ron Weasley -Ginny Weasley -Arthur Weasley -Molly Weasley -Bellatrix Lestrange -Fenre Grayback Hogwarts Express: -Harry Potter -Ron Weasley -Ginny Weasley -Luna Lovegood -Draco Malfoy Hogwarts Castle: -Harry Potter -Hermione Granger -Albus Dumbledore -Minerva McGonagall -Severus Snape -Flitwick -Argus Filtch -Lord Voldemort -Dementor(2) -Suit of Armor The new castle set has, as far as I can tell, the most minifigures released in a Harry Potter set to date (well, if you count each Dementor and the suit of armor). Still, I'm hoping theres still one minifigure in the set. I'd rather not have to get the Hogwarts Express set to get the new Draco Malfoy head and hair on a school robes minifigure.
  2. Bellatrix and Grayback look quite amazing, though so do most, if not all, of the minifigures. I really hope that the owls having the printed chests and face details carries over to t he other sets. It's nice to get a better angle at what Flitwick looks like. Looks quite cool for a movie-only character. Also, looking at the hat in front of Dumbledore, looks like it has some printing on it. Makes me think it's the sorting hat. It's confusing as to what he's standing in, but that is DEFINITELY a Lord Voldemort figure in the ground floor of the astronomy tower. He looks quite good too, though slightly odd in green robes. I also still have no idea what the middle part of the astronomy tower is supposed to be. Edit: Now I think I know what it is, the thing that Voldemort is in is the vanishing cabinet. Which means the middle part there could very well be the room of requirement. Also, really nice to get a better look at the pig in the Burrow set. Nice touch, not necessary, but nice. Another better look at the main tower reveals that the bottom section is the Slytherin common room (odd, since the set doesn't have any Slytherin students), making the third level to it the Gryffindor common room.
  3. I like it too, though I do see some flaws in it's design. Overall it seems to be a simplified version of the hut made during PoA. I could do without the acramantula, but the set a s a whole is a must-have for me. Though admittedly, a lot of that has to do with the fact that it comes with a Hagrid minifigure, lol (don't have one yet). The light-up feature is going to be very interesting to see. Especially since it'll be the first Lego set I'll ever own that has one. Really, the only sets I'm actually disappointed in are the Hogwarts Express and the Quidditch Match. I'd love to own a Luna Lovegood minifigure, but other than the car, there aren't any other things about the set I'm interested in. About the same thing can be said for the Quidditch Match set. Other than the new Draco figure and the Madam Hooch figure, I really have no interest in the set. However, since it's only $20, there's still a chance I'll get it. Where as the Hogwarts Express is $80, which causes me to looks almost all interest in it. Yeah, it's a lot of pieces, but it just doesn't seem like it should cost $80. Overall, there's really only two things I think are missing from the castle. Both of which have been made in previous versions of the castle. The clock tower and the greenhouse. I think it would be cool if they made a second castle set as an add-on to this main one. They could easily remake the clock tower to fit it, and then modify the existing greenhouse to do the same. Beyond that it would be cool if they also made some dungeons/lower levels to add on to the underside of the castle. A remake of the chamber of secrets wouldn't be all that hard, imo. Maybe even a remake of Fluffy's chamber. With the 4-5 Harry Potter sets and the one Star Wars set I'm planning on getting this year, Lego is going to get a good chunk of money from me this year, lol.
  4. The one draped in a weird fabric? or the one in the bottom part of the astronomy tower? The first one is, in theory, just meant to show off the new invisibility cloak. The second one is confusing me though. At first I thought it was meant to be a statue that sorta looks like the grim reaper, but the more I look at it, the more I think it could actually be Voldemort. What I thought was a scythe looks more like it's just the wall. I'm really hoping it's Voldemort. Though it does seem strange to just have him standing there. Hopefully some more pictures show up. Some more close-up looks at the castle and burrow would be nice. Edit: Just noticed that Hagrid's Hut comes with something I hadn't noticed, and honestly wasn't expecting. If you look on the roof, it's got Norbert on it. Makes me think that the light feature is going to be the fireplace.
  5. Yeah, the more I look at it, the larger it looks. It looks like it'll have plenty of features, and you are right, it does have a lot of minifigures. Dumbledore's Office alone seems to have tons of pieces. Mostly small and decorative, but nice additons. The Astronomy tower could have been better, but for what it is, it's really nice. Kind of ominous to have Dumbledore and Snape up there for the packaging shot, lol. The Dementors seem to be the only real odd additions. Though the Castle does seem to be the least specific to any one of the books. The Dementors are really the only one's that are year/book specific. The one minifigure I'm hoping is in the set that doesn't seem to be there, is Draco. I've already got a minifigure of him, but it would be nice to get an upgraded figure of him like the others. Edit: Looking at the close-up of Dumbledore's office, I can see what appears to be a suit of armor minifigure (you can just barely see part of it next to the stairs). Also, is it just me, or do there seem to be a couple of random doors in the castle? there's at least one in the Great Hall, which in the movie would lead to the trophy room, and there's one in between the astronomy tower and the main tower Anybody else find that slightly odd? Also, on a side note, I'm already thinking about attaching the one tower of Hogwarts I already have to this set. Might look a little odd, but the tower Sirius was inprisoned in could look nice among the other parts to this set. Yeah, the picture I was mainly looking at was at an odd angle, making the box look the same size as the Hagrid's Hut set. $80 seems like a lot for a simple train set, but it does seem to be quite large. Really the only two incetives for me are the Luna minifigure and the Weasley's car, so I don't think I'll get the set. Yeah, looking at the Burrow set next to the castle, $60 does seem a little low for the set, but that's a good thing. I'll most likely get the set. Especially because of all the unique figures. Bellatrix, Grayback, Arthur, and Molly are the most notable ones. Even more figures would have been nice, like Lupin, Tonks, and the twins. Though it's still an extremely nice set as-is.
  6. From what I can remember, both the book and the movie. For how big it is, $130 sounds a bit high for the castle set. Though who knows, it may be bigger than it looks in pictures. Going off of just the box sizes, the Train is probably $40 like Hagrid's Hut is. The Burrow is probably around $60. Personally I'm thinking it's a light in his fireplace. Though a light in the ceiling wouldn't be bad. Oh, and you're not too far off. It's Sirious who can shape-shift into a dog. Lupin is the werewolf. I'll have to look it up, but I can't remember if any of the previous Hagrid's Hut sets have come with Fang. If they have, than I don't see why they didn't include him in this one, but if they haven't, than I'll be a bit more understanding. Though at the same time he's in the Lego video game, so I personally think it wouldn't have been all that hard to base a figure off of that model. Edit: Did a quick search, and both previous sets didn't come with him. Still, would have been cool to see him in Lego form. I'm hoping it does last longer, though we don't know if it will or not yet. If anything, just a couple more sets for early 2011 would be nice. If for nothing else, just to get a Voldemort figure. Would also be cool if they made an add-on set for the castle. Sort of like how they had some of the sets released for the first movie have the ability to combine with the main castle set. A remake of the clock tower, and some lower levels, would be nice for the castle set, imo.
  7. Actually, yeah. He and Ron had it with them when they went down to Hagrid's, before then going into the forest and finding Aragog (it's how they hid when Dumbledore, the Minister, and Malfoy). The one thing that dissapoints me the most about the Hagrid's Hut set, is that it doesn't seem to com with Fang. I'll still probably get it, but Fang would have made it even better.
  8. That's what I've been thinking. They could have used a Trelawney figure, or at least her hat, in the place for Mcgonagall when setting up for the preliminary box design. The Dementors on the box seem to be a mix of the new version and the old version. The new ones seem to have gray body parts and black hood & cloak, (they're on a translucent platform next to the castle). I've noticed that the sets have a card next to them with the name of the set and the estimated price. Only one I've been able to read from the pictures is the Quidditch Match set, and it's $20. Though I think the Hagrid's Hut one says it's about $40. Can anybody else make out any of the others? I can't even find the cards for the Burrow or the Castle in any of the pictures.
  9. The backprinting is definitely a nice addition to the minifigures. Though there are some figures I personally tihnk it would be pointless on (Snape for instance, who, imo, should always be wearing a cape/cloak). I haven't seen Ron in the castle set either. Harry and Hermione are there, but Ron doesn't seem to be there at all. Slightly dissapointing, but the fewer doubles I get out of the sets, the better, imo. As-is I'm bound to have an army of Harry figures (I've already got three from previous sets).
  10. From the more far away pictures, it looked like he could have been Ginny (all I could really make out was the long brown-ish hair), and at first I thought the cat was Crookshanks (though it does work for Mrs. Norris). I did see him, but it's hard to really tell who it is. It does look like it is Flitwick As for the invisibility cloak, that could be what it is, but it actually looks to me like it's put there to cover a minifigure they want covered for the time being.
  11. Ok, that's who that is. Couldn't tell from the other pics. That's definitely a nice addition to the set.
  12. Can\'t really see much, but what I do see looks really good. Definitely looks like Harry and Mcgonagall there at the front. Looks like it could be Hermione and Crookshanks there on the upper level. Looking at the packaging, it looks like there is either a Dementor or a Death Eater in the set. Also, what we see is either just a part of the set, or it\'s a seperate/smaller set that can be added to the main castle set. The part that\'s visible seams to be the main tower, or at least it looks like it could be. You can see the three smaller towers branching off of it\'s roof that forms Dumbledore\'s office. Actually, looking at it closer, the box i was assuming was for the castle set, looks like it\'s the Burrow set\'s box. So the flames and Death Eater looking figure make sense now. Part of the box for the castle set can be seen, but not much of it. Can\'t wait to see more. Edit: Just saw the added pictures. The Burrow looks good. Definitely looks like this is the set that'll contain Bellatrix. Might get it, might not. Nice remake of Hagrid's hut, though looks a little smaller than I was expecting. Hagrid and the trio look nice. I really like how they gave him his umbrella/wand. The acromantula is unexpected, but a nice thing to include. Though I would have preferred a couple of thestrals. This set looks better than I had expected. Definitley not the final packaging, lol. It's nice to see Madam Hooch and Wood made in this set. It's hard not to like this set. It's smaller than I was expecting, and not really a remake of the older sets, but more along the lines of a completely new set based off of the same castle. It's hard to tell who all is getting included in the set, but I do see Dumbledore, Snape, Harry, Mcgonagall, Hermione, Ginny, and a couple of dementors. It's a little hard to tell, but the castle itself looks like it's made up of the great hall, the main tower, the astronomy tower, and what could be Dumbledore's office. Wasn't expecting to like this set, but it is nice. One of the reasons I may get it is because it looks as though it's the one that has Luna in it, plus the car would look nice next to the Burrow set.
  13. Personally, I'd be surprised if she had it. Seems like it would only be a GoF sort of thing, and the minifigures probably won't be aimed at any one specific year/event. Though at the same time, part of me is hoping that Dumbledore has a black hand, to represent his injury, and yet at the same time I'm hoping they go back to the older styled robes for him. $129.99 actually sounds kind of cheap for what I was expecting from the new Hogwarts castle set. At that price I seriously doubt if it's a combination and upgrade of the three previously released sets. Yet at the same time I'm glad to see it won't be ubber expensive. Dobby's release is, probably, the only $10.99 set. Personally I'm hoping they make more than the six we know about. Hopefully if they sell well enough, Lego will continue making them for a little while.
  14. It's nice to finally have the sets confirmed, and to know that Bellatrix and Luna will be made into minifigures. Bellatrix could, theoretically, be in a couple of sets. The Burrow would make sense, because of the attack in HBP, Hagrid's Hut would also make sense, since she set it on fire, and Hogwarts Castle would also make sense. Luna could also be in a couple of different sets. Most likely she'll be in the castle set, though depending on where they go with it, Hagrid's Hut would also make sense (especially if it had a couple of thestrals). Should be intersting to see what other new minifigures we get, and how they improve upon previously made one's. Can't wait to see pictures of the new sets, and to see how they are improving upon the older designs.
  15. Not really a fleshy color, but something that doesn't glow in the dark. A gray-ish white color would be perfect for Voldemort, imo, as he's always been really pale. Both of the Snape minifigures that I have are the one's with glowing heads, and it just looks too weird, imo. Which is why I'm glad that the most recent version of him was given flesh-toned head and hands. On the other hand, I'm also hoping that they go backwards with the potential Dumbledore figure (though it wouldn't be all that surprising if he isn't included in any of the sets). I have the Dumbledore figure from the Dragon Challenge set, and it's a nice figure, but to a certain extent, I also like the older, more pink-ish outfitted figure. If anything, it would help connect the sets with the Lego game. That would be interesting. Personally I think that something along the lines of the Star Wars battle packs would be nice to see, though I wouldn't call the battle packs. They could easily make a Death Eater pack, containing something like four or five Death Eaters, and maybe some sort of dark object. Another possibility is a DADA Teacer's set, containing the major characters that have held the position (Quirrell, Lockhart, Lupin, Moody, Umbridge, & Snape). A goblins themed set could contain several goblins, and something that looks like part of the interior of the bank. The Weasley family, imo, could even make for a nice set. In the end, I just hope they end up making more than we currently know about. A simple camping scene set with the trio and a tent would be nice, and relatively easy to develop. Anyways, back to reality and sets we know are being made. The castle should definitely be interesting to see. Especially the improvements made to the past sets. I'm hoping they attempt to make it look, to a certain degree, like the castle does in the movies. Though at the same time I'm hoping it's fun to play around with. I've said it before, but I'm really hoping they keep the thestrals from the OotP castle set. Some Dementors would be nice too, but they aren't an absolute must, imo. What I would do, is include two thestrals with the new Hagrid's Hut set, and then include two Dementors in the castle set. From what I've read, the Hogwarts Express set is, for the most part, going to be a CoS themed set. It's supposedly going to have the Weasley's car with it. Would be cool, imo, if the new Dobby's Release set was somehow capable of being added/worked into the new castle set. If they did that, I would most likely get the set, but if not, then there's a good chance I'll just skip over the set. Depending on how it looks, and how extensive it is, I'll probably also skip over the Quidditch Lesson set. Though if they were to make the stadium itself, even if it was a more midi-scaled type of thing, I'd be interested in getting that.
  16. Unfortunetly nope. Toy Fair doesn't start till the 14th, and ends on the 17th. Kind of odd, imo, to have it start on a Sunday and end on a Wednesday. Though they are combining it with the "Engage! Expo", so that both events happen at the same place, and one overlaps the other. http://www.engageexpo.com/ny2010/toyfair/index.html It's still only three more days, so it's not too bad. Personally, I'm hoping we get another video for the video game in the near future. Would make sense, imo, if the next video was cut scenes from the PoA section of the game (they've done at least one video for the first two parts). I'm also hoping that certain Lego minifigures get re-released/remade in the new sets. For example, a new Voldemort figure would be really nice, imo (I never did get the GoF set with him in it). I think they should make one without the head having the glow-in-the-dark feature (like they did for Snape in the OotP set).
  17. Definitely Harry Potter. Even though I haven't seen any pictures of the sets yet, lol. I'll probably get at least two of the sets, depending on how they all look. Hogwarts Castle and Hagrid's Hut are the two definites for the time being. If the Burrow turns out good, and has some minifigures the other sets don't have, I might get it too. Same goes for the Dobby's Release, Quidditch Lesson, and Hogwarts Express sets. Star Wars is in a somewhat close second. I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a little kid, and my father took me to see a re-showing of Empire Strikes Back. There's really only two sets I want to get this year. The Slave I set and the Hoth Wampa Attack set. If the rumor that a new AT-AT set is coming out, I may get that too (though I'm also thinking about getting the big $100 AT-AT coming out this year, it's not Lego, but it does look nice).

    The Burrow

Really great design. It isn't completely accurate, but it does work nicely. Here's hoping the official version is half as good as this. Edit: Personally, I've only ever attempted to make two custom Lego sets (both HP themed). One was the fountain in the clock tower's courtyard, and the other is the entrance to the bridge on Hagrid's side. Both aren't too bad, but could use some improvment. The fountain looks small next to any of the minifigures, and the bridge entrance has a weird looking roof to it.
  19. Intro looks good. Especially Hagrid's landing. This is one of two video games I'm looking forward to this year. Makes sense that she would be in the Burrow set. Though she could also, theoretically, be a minifigure in the new Hogwarts Castle set. As for her hair, I think it'll probably be a unique/new piece. Personally, I'm hoping that either the castle set, or the Hagrid's Hut set, comes with two thestrals (like the OotP set came with). I still think they should have made a smaller set that came with two of them, Harry, and Luna. Something along the lines of the PoA set with Buckbeak and Draco. Hopefully the New York Toy Fair produces some pictures of the new sets. Only five more days to go.
  20. The more I see and read about this game, the more I'm looking forward to it. Same thing goes for the video game and the new Lego sets we're getting later this year. Personally, I'm hoping that the Hogwarts Castle set has the two thestrals, like the OotP set. I'm also hoping we get some more sets in 2011. Only one more week and we should finally get to see some pictures of at least a couple of the sets. From what I've heard the Hogwarts Train set is going to include the Weasley's flying car. Would be really cool if the rumor that Bellatrix is getting a figure turns out to be true. I still think they should have made some HBP Lego sets. The Sectemsempra scene, Horcrux cave, and Astronomy tower all would have been easy sets to create, imo. If I'm not mistaken, it looked as though they were on top of the entrance way.
