Definitely some interesting news. Nice to have the theme of the Forbidden Forest set confirmed. I'm really hoping that since he mentioned Hagrid, that he's actually in the set itself. Definitely sounds like he got Sprout confused for Minerva, and the new student sounds like it'll be Neville. With the new info, here's my guesses/assumptions as to the minifigures (minus animals and other creatures) for each set: Forbidden Forest: -Harry Potter -Hagrid -Voldemort -Narcisa Malfoy Knight Bus: -Harry potter -Stan Shunpike -Ernie Prang Battle for Hogwarts: -Harry Potter -Neville Longbottom -Pr.Sprout -Voldemort -Snape That's 12, maybe the BfH set has more than that. I would love it if Hagrid was in the FF set, but I have a bad feeling he won't be. I put Snape in the BfH set because of that leaked photo of the four minifigs. Would be nice, since I don't have a new Snape, but I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't in the set. Can't wait to finally see pictures of these sets. Will have to find a way to get my mind off these sets between now and then or I'll go crazy, lol.

Well, it's not much, but at least it's something. I was hoping Brickset would go into more detail than that, but it's better than nothing. Hopefully someone there asks if they could get into more detail about the minifigs. 12-15 sounds really good for only three sets. I'm beginning to think that the Knight Bus set might have a Sirius minifig in addition to his dog-form/the grim. By the sounds of it, the Battle for Hogwarts set should have at least 6 minifigs in it. I'm still hoping that the Knight Bus has a minifig head painted up as the shrunken head guy. Doesn't need a hair piece, but that would make it even better. Although I would settle for him not having a hair piece if it meant he was more than just printing/sticker on the windshield. Anybody else more excited for these three sets than last year's sets, even though we don't even have a list of the minifigures they'll contain? Awesome. Hopefully they'll be able to shed light on what they minifigs will be. Edit: Just came up with an idea that, imo, would make the Battle for Hogwarts set epic. It'll never happen, but I think it would be great if the set had a Blast-Ended Skrewt in it. Might have to try making one on my own, lol...

Is it possible that what appears to be a Pr. Sprout figure is going to be in a new magnet set? She could theoretically be in the Battle for Hogwarts set, but there are other characters I would rather get in that set than her, tbh. Then again, if it meant the set would include Mandrakes, I'd be all for her to be in it, lol. I would love it if we were getting more than three sets. Although considering how we found out about the three we know are on the way, I'm having a hard time seeing any more being added to this wave. Would be cool, but for the time being, won't believe it till we see proof (don't want to get my hopes up).
-
Interesting. Definitely looks like it could be Pr. Sprout. We'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully this is a sing that more info is on it's way.

Well...looks like I was completely wrong, lol. Hopefully we'll get some sort of info/news in the next day or two. Since they revealed last year's sets at last years Toy Fair, I think it should be inevitable that the same happens this year. I haven't been able to find any sort of report about the Lego booth specifically. Brickset hasn't done a report yet, but I'm hopeful they will... Honestly, pictures I can wait for (usually have to anyways), but it would certainly help the wait if we knew what the minifigures of each set were going to be.
-
I imagine we should be getting some info before the end of today....hopefully anyways, lol. Really depends on when they can get a chance to report about it, and whether or not they were able to see anything. Seeing as how last year's was invite only, I'm assuming the same would be true this year. Brickset got a report up on the first day of last year's Toy Fair, so I'm hoping the same will be true this year. We'll just have to wait and see.
-
Thanks. Hmmm...if we get about the same amount of info from this years London Toy Fair, it should be enough to keep my mind busy till the New York one, lol. Didn't know the Lego booth was invitation only. Will have to keep a look-out for the hopefully inevitable news post on Brickset. By the looks of it, with any luck we could have info later today.

An $11 set containing five minifigs and a dog? Would be epic (especially since it would mean we would finally get a Lego Fang), but that would definitely not happen. I think we'll be lucky if we get 4 minifigs, tbh. Been thinking about it, and honestly, I really like the idea of it having Harry, Voldemort/Quirrel, Firenze, and a Unicorn. I'm having a hard time picturing them putting two minifigs, a centaur, and a unicorn all in an $11 set. We'll just have to wait and see. Good thing there's a good chance we'll get some info in the next couple of days. Anybody else remember how much info was reported from the London Toy Fair last year? I remember the pictures we then got from the New York Toy Fair, but honestly can't remember if we had gotten information previous to that from the London Toy Fair.
-
Yeah, it starts tomorrow, and ends on the 27th. I think someone on here mentioned they were going, so I'm assuming someone will report back with info. As for pictures, we'll have to wait for the New York Toy Fair for any (Feb. 13th-15th), as the London Toy Fair is a "no pictures allowed" event.

We know the box sizes for these sets, so there is no way that the Battle for Hogwarts set is going to be that big. It's the same size as last years Hagrid's Hut set. The Forbidden Forest set is the same size as the Freeing Dobby set, and the Knight Bus set is in-between the sizes of last years Quidditch Match set and Hagrid's Hut set. Theoretically one could guess that the prices for these sets will be $11, $20-30, and $40. There is one minifigure that's guaranteed to be in each of these sets, and that's a Muggle-clothed Harry Potter minifig, lol.
-
I'm glad to see that the info turned out to be false too. Although I have to say, I wouldn't be against the forest set representing the scene from SS/PS. It's just more than likely the DHp2 scene. There's also really no reason for the Knight Bus to have at least three minifigures in it. Especially since Erny was in the game. I still don't think it'll have a Sirius minifig, and even if it did, it would definitely be the prisoner version of him. Which other than his hair, really doesn't need an update. Though his dog-form/the grim does. At the very least a more accurate color along with printed eyes. One of the reasons that I really hope the Battle for Hogwarts set has Kreacher in it, is because I actually really like his character. I would have loved to have seen more of him in DHp1, tbh. In the end, as long as I'm able to get a nice looking Voldemort figure from the set, I'll be happy. Although if we can also get a Bellatrix figure in the same set, I'll be really happy. The Burrow is a nice looking set, but really, Bellatrix and Grayback were the only two things that really interested me, and two minifigs ain't worth sixty bucks. Only four more days till the London Toy Fair begins. Which will hopefully provide us with some nice information to tide us over till we get pictures of the sets.
-
Going off of the box sizes, this is what I personally think/hope the minifigure list (including animals) for each set will be like: 4865 The Forbidden Forest -Harry Potter -Lord Voldemort -Narcissa Malfoy 4866 The Knight Bus -Harry Potter -Stan Shunpike -Ernie Prang -Hedwig -Shrunken Head -the Grim 4867 Battle for Hogwarts -Harry Potter -Neville Longbottom -Kreacher -Lord Voldemort -Bellatrix Lestrange -Nagini Ok, I'm probably being a little optimistic with some of those choices, but there's no harm in dreaming, lol. Should be interesting to see how these sets turn out. Hopefully the next time I'm out shopping I'm able to find the Freeing Dobby set. Kinda wish I got it the last time I saw it in-stores.

While I haven't gotten any of last years sets (cool sets, just not a big enough Lego collector to get them), I might get at least one of this years sets (it helps that the three of them are all on the cheaper side of things). I'm hoping that at least one of them has a Voldemort minifig. Depending on where they go with them, I could almost see both the Forbidden Forest set and the Battle for Hogwarts set having him. I like the idea of the Battle for Hogwarts set containing Neville and Nagini. Would be epic if it also had Hagrid and Bellatrix. Hopefully we get more info soon. At this point the Knight Bus is the only one of the three I know I probably won't get. PoA is my favorite of the movies so far, but I've got the mini Knight Bus set, so I don't feel the need for a larger one. However, if it's nice enough, and has a fair number of good minifigures, I'll reconsider.

I'm considering getting the Ewok Attack set. If it had one more Ewok there wouldn't be a question in my mind. Also, there's a slight innacuracy in the set's info in the first post. It's a $10.99 set, not a $24.99 set.

I know, it's just that, to me, it looks very similar to the Stormtroopers (can't recall what the specific type of ST I'm thinking of is called atm). Not exactly the same, but close enough for me.
-
I'm not much of a Lego collector anymore, but there's something about the Mandalorian battle pack that I really like (it helps that my favorite SW character is Boba Fett, who wheres Mandalorian style armor). It also helps that it's a nice cheap set. The V-Wing is pretty much the only other set from the first wave that interests me. Not sure I'll get it, but it's a possibility. The pilot does appear to be female (that's definitely lipstick, but for all we know that'll change for the production version. I'd be interested in the Clone battle pack if it had more ARF troopers. The Bomb Squad and Commando style troopers don't interest me at all, where as the ARF trooper looks closer to the Stormtroopers (which I prefer to the clone ones, tbh).

Haven't posted in quite some while (finally got the power supply in my computer replaced). Might as well comment on the teaser site's images of the minifigures. -Harry Potter- Hard not to like this minifigure. Nice to see them showing off the angry face. Adding that piece to the broom is a nice touch. Still think he could use a new hair piece. Oh, and that definitely isn't the 4841 set's Harry minifigure (looks like the one from the castle set). -Rubeus Hagrid- Looks really good. Might just be me, but the brown of his clothes looks a little darker. Nice face printing, though part of me is hoping he has a double sided head (would be nice to have a happy Hagrid). -Ron Weasley- Looks good. Hair piece fits him perfectly. Too bad this one wasn't coming in the Burrow set. -Hermione Granger- Not bad. Definitely Hermione. Though she's another character I wish had a double-sided head. -Lucious Malfoy- Really good minifigure. The expression on his face, look of his outfit, and the hairpiece all suits him. Only thing I would add is a piece similar to that on Harry's broom, to represent the snake head on his wand/cane. -Dementor- Nice figure here too. I really like the updated cloak, and the gray plastic is better looking than I thought it would be. Only thing I don't like is the arms. They're just way too robotic to work for this, imho. -Minerva McGonagall- Once again, a nice figure. The outfit and expression fit her perfectly. Too bad there isn't a witches had with a feather sticking out of it. -Albus Dumbledore- Nice mixture of the old and new here. The beard and hair will, as far as I can tell, be closer to a light gray/white-ish color for the production version. Not sure why they're this dark gray here. From what I can see the printing is really nice. Nice to see some more variation to the wand colors. -Dobby- Looks good. Probably the best update to this guy is the eyes. They don't look creepy anymore. -Marcus Flint- Looks good, though I can't remember what he's supposed to look like, so I'm not sure if it's at all accurate, lol. -Draco Malfoy- Nice update for Harry's rival. The new hair piece suits him perfectly. Too bad the only other Draco minifigure in this series comes in the train set. -Oliver Wood- Looks good. Kinda generic like Flint is, but overall a good minifigure. The only thing I remember all that well of the character is his accent, lol. -Ginny Weasley- Really good minifigure. The new hair piece works really well, and the printing is good. Out of all the one's shown on the site so far, the one I'm looking forward to the most is Dumbledore. Should go nicely with the custom Aberforth I'm working on. Out of all the minifigures from the sets, the one I'm looking forward to the most is a close tie between Voldemort and Bellatrix. The prototype figures had them (as did Voldemort). Differences were inevitable. Personally I like that the capes/cloaks are entirely green. Though if it was up to me, I would have added printing to the back of them (the player numbers).

D2C Designers requesting feedback for 2012 models
Ravenxl7 replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
1. No, sets like those are great designs as-is. 2. Sort of a mixture. If there is a theme I really like (Harry Potter, for example, it makes it more likely I'll buy most, if not all the sets, in that one theme. 3. Stonehenge. 4. Some sort of old and weathered castle. 5. Ultimately I'd love to see plenty of more Harry Potter sets. I like the direction this years sets are going, and I'd love to see more. Especially some Deathly Hallows themed sets. There could easily be a camping scene set, the wedding, the dragon at the bank, shell cottage, the epilogue, etc... -
Just saw this over on Mugglenet. Really good video, but not as good as the PoA one, imho. Didn't notice that Cedric was still alive for the duel. Watching it again, that's interesting, and a little weird. Maybe their saving his death for right before Harry goes back to Hogwarts, or something... This is one of two games I'm looking forward to getting this year (the other being TF:WfC). Might even get a Wii this year, seeing as neither game is coming out on any of the gaming platforms I already own, and my PC isn't exactly a gaming computer, lol. Looking at the sets, I'm wandering what, if anything, Lego will use Bellatrix's hair piece for in the future.

From what I can remember she's always been a dark brown cat, though with some other colors mixed in. Sort of reminded me of a cat my family had when I was a child, that was a mixture of black and calico. Was dark brown but with some variation to it. As for Deathly Hallows, I think that if we see her, there won't be any major changes, but at the same time I think there's a good chance we won't see her at all. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I really like Draco's new hair piece. It's much better than the older one, and makes think they should have given Harry a new hair piece too. Also, is it just me, or does it look like Grayback has the new hair piece too? Also, zooming in on Dumbledore, that is definitely some new printing on his chest. Would be cool if he had some back printing this time (especially since he doesn't have a cape to cover it up).
-
From everything we've seen of the set, I'm thinking it's meant to be Mrs. Norris, but I have to agree with you, the color looks more like Crookshanks (which is why I'll be using it as him). There's a cat coming in the Lego Hogwarts game that will, imo, work perfectly as Mrs. Norris. I believe it's meant to be Minerva when she's in her cat-form, but a dark gray or black colored cat piece would work better for that, imo.
-
Cad Bane's Speeder looks nice, but is overpriced, imho. If the speeder itself was smaller, and the set was cheaper, I would consider getting it (some really nice minifigures ther), but as-is, it's an easy pass for me.

The new pictures are great. Though I can imagine most of them will have some slight differences. Ron from the Hagrid's Hut set will hopefully have the skater-style hair, along with the owls getting the eye and chest printing. Snape and Minerva will most likely have their capes, Minerva will probably have a wand, and I would imagine the Dementors will have face printing and the new style of cloaks. One thing I find interesting is the broom Harry is holding in the castle set has a cone piece on it. Can't really tell if that's purposeful or not. Also, I like how they used the same gimmick for the Quidditch Match and Burrow sets. Makes for a nice point scoring method and an interesting fire attack. I'm really looking forward to these sets, and will probably end up getting most of them. I'm still not fully sold on the train set. Just seems underwhelming for the price, but at the same time the minifigures, owls, flying car, and some of the other accessories would be nice. A Ron for the Burrow, a Ginny and a Draco for the castle, and a Luna minifigure would be nice. The train itself just doesn't interest me all that much.

Hmm...well, hopefully it isn't too long till we find out what their fate is for US release. I love bananas, so if the same promotion were to come over here, I'd be happy (it's unlikely, even though it's a great idea). I'm curious, have there been any rumors about more sets being in the works?
-
Any idea if these will be available in the US? I'd love to get the Alien Space Ship, if not the Army Jeep too. It's too bad Rex isn't in a cheaper set, as I'd love to own his minifigure (he was, is, and always will be my absolute favorite Toy Story character). Neither of the two sets he's in are interesting enough to feel worth the purchase.
