Cool little vehicle, I like the rugged look to it, even before I read the text I thought "mad Max". The fig fits the model very nicely!!! I understand that the parts are limited in this color, but some nougat or dark orange accents (small bits here and there), to look like rust, would take it over the edge for me! Still, excellent creation!

Getting in the mood... for sorting!
Piratedave84 replied to Dakar A's topic in General LEGO Discussion
AH!!! sorting! For me it's also known as "the never ending story". When I buy a set I always build it, it usually gives me idea, exposes me to new/newer building technics, and enables me to see specifically which parts are comprised in the set. When the set is built I look at it and then chuck it in "the bin"; the bin is in fact a 2x2x2 foot box that at the present time is FULL of sets to be dissamssembled and sorted. Now on to sorting itself, I dread it, like anyone else (i'd rather be building), but I force myself to sort 10 minutes before every building session; I first tend to sort by color and then to re-sort that into categories (closely associated with Bricklink's categories) But that's besides the topic title ..... to get in the mood I usually put on a POTC movie in the background and ensure I have access to a source of liquid (coffee, beer, gatorade, etc.) and get to it! -

HOORAY!!! first post updated with turns 8 and 9. You will also notice that the pics are now in AWESOME-JAW-DROPPING-HD!!!!! Doesn't really need to be "wincheable" as long as it dangles out of reach from the pirates!!!! Alternatively, you could build another crane that is "wincheable" I think "wincheable" is my new most-favorite-ever word!!!! Oh god .... I need to go to bed ... See above!!!! -
Toronto Teens launch Minifig into SPACE
Piratedave84 replied to Si-MOCs's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Quite inspiring!!! To think that they did that "for fun" reassures me that this generation is not "lost" as some might say. Plus imagine what they'll be abel to tell their kids: "When I was your age, I took these pictures .... OF SPACE!!!" LOL Congratulations to 2 ingenious youth, an inspiration to all! -

you know I always wondered if anyone had bothered to build a model of past RCB's. The problem with "buying" the model is mostly ... well .. the 5000 bricks!!!!!! Several times, I have thought of building the RCB 2 (medieval) model, I'm pretty sure my collection would allow it, but it'd be a time consuming thing!! There are chances I will build this model after it's all over ... if my wife let's me buy a bazillion bricks!!!! -
The Curse of IMHOTEP - Sign Up Thread
Piratedave84 replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm game to try this, I loved my experience in Def's Witchbreed mafia school 1) I played in Def's Witchbreed Mafia School as Pirelly Dabito (scum) and was lynched on day 4 for putting my foot in my mouth so far it was impossible to take it out! 2) I'm totally free, I try and post here at least once a day 3) My favorite moment, well there will be 2; and both are from my only Mafia experience. 3.1) <- This!!! To this day I am still trying to comprehmed how he pulled it off, but it was pretty awesome on his part!3.2) Worst best moment: My fellow scums and I had a super-evil-master-mind plan thought out ... but then on night 2 both Fhomess and Bricksie were killed (godfather and role blocker) -
THANK YOU! That was a great read this morning!!!! That was a refreshing take on the whole friends contreversy. I really enjoyed the review it was very thourough and well written, thanks for all the detailed pictures! I have a feeling this line will give us a lot of new interesting pieces in a variety of unusual colors and add to the pool of "rare" pieces (i.e. - orange slopes) On a side note, I have to say I personally really like the Friends line, the colors are so vibrant it makes the model "pop" a lot! I went to Wal-Mart yesterday specifically to pick one of each set but unfortunately they were not yet on the shelves and the kid I talked to in order to know when they would be on the shelves was less than helpfull, I'll have to go again later!

Seeing that the holidays are litteraly "just around the corner" I may not be able to have the build move along as quickly as usual. Consequently, I will send the model to Masked Builder and allow for more time for the build, look fot he next update some time early next year! -

I was reading the news this morning and a Canadian news outlet linked this article. It explains that it is a collection of news related MOCs taken from Flickr (gallery here) They also say in the short introduction that you can "add your Lego take on a news event this year" by contacting them. Enjoy!
