The render for the last part with more lighting study. It's not complete as the row boat doesn't exist as .dat part. Anyway. BTW to avoid posting many times following : That's strange how some parts, sub assemblies or minifig can't find place in a model??? Some writers say that their characters have their own life and finally they just have to write the story!!! It's something similar I think. Sacrificing is the right word. Details, colors, forms that don't fit the model and sometimes accessories. For Puerto Brico bedroom I first build a pirate bed that was really a nice piece, with lot of details but it was so big that it take all the room and push the roof... so I had some make it smaller and my heart cried *sad* Let's hope so. ;-) Speaking of work isn't pretentious, we must just avoid to be boring. :-D

GHOST TOWN emerges from the darkness !!!

600%... ok, so I'm not in a realistic world when I sale my models, but as you wrote it would be impossible to sale sets at that price. Thanks for the link, your instructions are sweet. Did you use LPub and it generated automatically images, steps and pages or did you make them yourself? Yes, that's a big problem when you don't know how to make .dat parts, like me. Sometimes it's possible to find people on Lugnet that can make parts for you, these guys are very kind, but sometimes not, so you'll have to do-it-yourself with 2D pictures (as I wrote in another tread in that forum). And that takes more of the precious time... -
Yes I understood that, I just mentioned there was also an "Indian" guy. I sold my first models built, but since 2 years I sale them unbuild with instructions. Why do you think I modelise them with MLCAD and make renders, hm? Nobody asked me a glued model but if that happened I would glue it, no problem. As I wrote some treads ago I'm a brick mercenary, so nothing is impossible as long as you can pay the bounty. |-/ Kid!

Mr Phes, Yes and there a guy from far east to (see the black turban). I also planned to ad a chinese she pirate but finally she didn't found a place? This tread seems to turn to a discussion for the 2 of us, I wonder if people needs more informations? Who will write the 100th post?
-
No I wasn't aware of that discussion, but thanks now I know... and it's true. TLC more women please! I put female minifigures just because the world is like that, so it has always seemed normal to me. And of course I love women so I won't exclude them of my models. ;-) And because the world is full of diversity, I also include differents ethnic minifigures.
-
Yes there are 2 women in Puerto Brico... er 3 with the one on the ship. Yes you can modelize minifigures with MLCAD and it's possible to import from other 3D software too. I didn't put the minifigures on my renders because I was lazy and it's not very fun to do. A lot of the hair parts or headpieces and accessories don't exist so that can be really boring. :-(

I'll tell you when you'll be a big boy... excepted if you prefer to married a vessel like Kirk!
-
It's not a secret but it's boring, they are plates or brick in size or color that makes them uncommon or rare. Didn't happened to you that when you search parts on BL you found that 8x8 or 1x1 plate was hard to find or very rare? That's the kind of things. The sails are 2D pictures I applied on the render. And what else Mr Tiber? You want my lady, myleather jacket and my beer :-P
-
Didn't I already mention that??? Sorry must have forgot. As the sets will contains rare parts (and not only the one that can be easily seen) I have enought of them to sale 4 sets. And 1 of them is pre-sold before I checked the price, that left 3. After that I don't know what I will do, but there's no hurry, I'll see that if that's necessary.
-
As a good brick mercenary I would say : "How much?" >:-) But as a long time fan I would say : "Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss". Of course yes. *sweet* So everybody, if you met someone from TLC remember to mention my name and adress... mh, maybe I shouldn't write that because I'm sure that some of you are ready for that kind of bet ?!?!?! You little rapscallions!

Yes, of course it's a spider, in a pirate life danger is everywhere!!! I previously wrote I have made half the work but that was not true I forgot the ship. Now I have made 2/3 of the work, here's a render of it.
-
Mr Phes, Yes, I used MLCAD and L3PAO for rendering. BTW the first render was incomplete here a second one with the palmtree Too bad the leaves don't exists as .dat so I had to make a little "do-it-yourself".
-
Hello Pirates, Sorry to post a new after another but I have made half the work on modelizing Puerto Brico and here's a first render. Just have to make the other half :-| Eric / BaronSat

No because I'm not good in customizing figures, I don't sculpt or paint. Im just good putting a brick on another. Yes, I'd love to be the builder for snob and rich people means I would be rich too :-D Seriously, I just find funny the idea that $100,000 for a car is cheap. Eric
-
I didn't wrote that for you, meaning you were not an honest and nice guy because I'm sure you are. :-) And I never said my technique was totally new, as there's so many builders that it's difficult to imagine something totally new. I just say : "I keep the secret". That was a game with Mr Phes, you know just for fun. :-D Eric
-
No, that wouldn't be a problem (I was joking, I never killed anybody... or at least there's no proofs...) it's just about one detail. If it was about the complete instructions that would. But my customers are honest people and understand what that would mean for me : a lost of time and money. The Lego community is fair and we can trust each others*... ok there may be some bad guys but a very few. Eric * Yes I live in Sweet-cuttie-sugar-city where it's sunny everyday, the landscape is made of chocolate and all the people are nice, don't you?
-
Hi Nathan, Can't confirm that, otherwise I would have to kill you... ... it's not personnal it's just business *skull* Eric the BaronFettonator

Custom figures are expensives but they are still affordable for most of collectors. Imagine a soda can at $20, it's very expesnive but anybody can buy it. Now imagine a Ferrari Testarossa at $100,000 (not that I'm saying that my MOC are as precious as Ferraris, it's just an example ;-) ) it's very cheap but only a few people can buy it. Conclusion : if you want to sale items at high price, keep them under an average price of $50. Like a custom figure for example. Is there any economist around that could name that fact???...... .... just kidding if there's one, I'll call upon an malefic power to send him in hell. >:-)
-
Hi Jpay, Right, nothing to add. And there's even some people that would like to pay it less...
-
I think their reaction could be compared as the one that a giant dinosaur (let say a brontosaurus) bitten by a flee could have X-D It's too soon for me to know the price but as this model is bigger and more complicated than my Valiant Hart tavern model...
-
Mr Phes, As some of you may have noticed I sale some of my MOCs. This one seems to be popular and because some people asked me I have planned to produce a small run (due to rarity of some parts) that I'll put on sale soon. Here's the reason why I must keep a little of mystery about it. :-)
-
Hi Mr Phes, Sorry but I must keep some secrets as I have projects for that model. :-| But it's very simple and use hinge bricks. My BS gallery seems ok but that happens sometimes to BS, I suppose it's some maintenance?!
-
Sorry I didn't get what you mean? Not enough of parts, even if my drawers say the opposite. :-D But I had all the parts, generally I try to build with my stock, excepted if suddenly I need 20 green radar dishes. The only ones I should have ordered are the Technic cams in black, but the time I think that my MOC was completed.
