  1. ...in the meantime, here's a link to a lot of pictures of the Unimog on a German website which give an abundance of ideas on extensions for this versatile vehicle! Looking forward to see some of them realized here! fW
  2. You really should not take it wrong. While it my be debatable what needs to be in a review or how you structure it, which I btw quite liked, the pictures make up half the rent (or more). Your pictures should be better than the average bootleg pics that pop up over the times. You have the set at hand and you present it. You have the chance to take some hi-res focussed pics and everybody is happy! Take the criticism and think about it, don't overreact, and post your reply. There's also the Reviewer's Academy in this forum where tips and tricks are shared e.g. how to make pictures with good lighting etc. There are a few items in this set, at least one, why I want this. Which is the gold chain and it is also a new part, so share your expereince and what tumbled out of the box! fW
  3. This set is probably too small to have numbered poly-bags. IMHO the numbered polybags only occur in sets from a certain size upwards where you have really distiguishable sub-models fW
  4. This is a great MOC! I reall like the crawler! For it's scale it looks very realistic and very close to the real thing. Also the servicing tower is great, but I think it still has some room for improvment! Go on , looking forward to see the completed center. One remark though, there should be some holes in the platform to allow the exhaust gases exit.
  5. Well, Nürnberg = Germany, Germany = Mercedes, Mercedes = Unimog... Hopefully they show this jewel! ..and we get a glimpse!
  6. Did you manually switch it off or did you make a pressure switch to stop the compressor? Thanks
  7. Blakbird, I did not count the panels in the render, Just came back from the basement, there are too many white panels in the render, the Williams has only a total of 4, so you would need to use two of the old-style silver panels that the WIlliams uses for the underside. Bet use IMHO is the lower back. I was really lucky when a chain of stores here in Germany folded last year, I got one for 25 EUR MISB from the shelf, could not resist
  8. Hi quilkin, Very nice construction! The exposed crankshaft at bottom looks very good, I would say a it gives the MOC a bit of "steampunk". The colors are also good and clean! It is always nice to see new ideas for the GBC! fW
  9. I was also looking at the difference not too long ago in order to decide if I should go for the Silver Champion or not. Going through both instructions, step by step, the only major difference is the construction of the rear spoiler. I finally did not get the SC. What I noticed between the 8461 and the 8674 is that the suspension "feels" better on the 8674, anybody else has the same issue that the 8461 suspension lies too flat on the floor? fW
  10. Very nice build! I like the effect the tan arch creates! The lady on the left is not very happy?
  11. I would also use the newer treads. A low estimate would be that the crawler will be around 5kg. With interior even more. The pressure on the treads will be high and if you want to drive it, may be they can stand it, but turning will be too much for them and the chains will come apart. fW
  12. Thansk for pointing me in the right direction! That's a good experimental thread! I will try the high-power 5292 if there is a shutdown in the receiver and let you know in the other thread.
  13. May be TLC should use the SR3D builder to animate their models!
  14. Hello Philo, Thanks for sharing this information, your page is always a welcome resource! I was going through the PF-Section I was looking for some information on how much current/power the PF-IR recevier can control? Especially when reading your recommendation not to connect the 5292 to the RCX/NXT. But I could not find anything on the possibilities with it. I guess (?) that the IR Receiver has some protection inside to prevent it from frying its internals one too much current. Thanks fW
  15. Have a look at this BS-Folder, the content should help you to achieve it. fW
  16. I see that you are using a PF-XL for the drive. If you are using the on/off remote this will indeed be quite jerky and produce also a lot of stress in the involved parts and slipping of these bevel-gears as the motor is quite really strong. As a remote I would recommend to use the 8879 remote With it you can more or less smoothly accelarate/decelerate. I had the same issue with my snowgroomer and it took me more than one season of snow to make it properly snow-worthy to really do grooming and not be there for just going straight fW
  17. That does not work for the knob-wheel, even the LA-holder piece can get pushed apart by torque. One satisfying solution I am using now is the technic frame 5 x 7, but that one requires a lot of space. fW
  18. Good Topic! The two sample you mentioned were nearly realized as Barman has designed them, the latest part with the new Backhoe. and earlier It is also interesting to see one of those (top right) being realized some time ago. What I would really like is the top left one, really missing that sometimes I would also apprechiate if this Could be realized, would give a good opportunity to get a lot of torque around a corner! fW
  19. That sounds interesting! The same is being said of LL Germany over here at 1000Steine Looking forwar to see a lot of nice miniland-size figures!
  20. The grille of this wonderful creation has quite some similarities with the new Doge Charger A wonderful creation, and moves great in snow! fW
  21. The best thing to check the PAB walls is Brickbuildr German stores get updated quite frequently, US stores not that frequently, you need to recruit some fellow PAB addicts to keep them actual . fW
  22. Well the figures are definately great! but looking at it on S@H Germany for 70 EUR and at S@H US for 60 USD ~ 46 EUR (50 incl. tax) I am asking myself what justifies the difference? ...we had this many times, just plainly I would go for it with the US price...
  23. Got it today and I have to say it looks pretty good. I mainly got it for the mini-LA to play around with them and try them. But on a second thoguh I might build the LEGO model first. In my opinion it has a very good selection of parts. Quite small form factor and loaded with functions. For me it is definately a
  24. Lego Bananas grow on palm trees, interesting... Reminds me of once trying to convince somebody that gummi-bears grow on trees... The happy holidays game has great reindeers
