  1. Well I didn't see anyone else try and fix the bikes in this set when I searched for it, so I thought I might as well try to do it myself. After being disappointed with how blocky the front of the Batcycle was from the 76179 Batman & Selina Kyle Motorcycle Pursuit set (along with how it used a sticker for the headlight instead of trying to make it brick built), I knew I had to find a way to make the Batcycle look a lot more sleeker. Luckily, I stumbled upon this video showcasing their own custom Batcycle MOC and the front was absolutely perfect, I just had to borrow it for my version (along with how the side exhaust pipes were built). Combining that with the bike frame design of the 2014 Ninjago X-1 Ninja Charger instead of using those inaccurate dark bluish grey "Vehicle, Base 2 x 2 x 2/3 Wheel Fork with 2 Arms and Pin Holes" pieces, managed to give me this as the final result when I finished the designs using the Stud.io software. With Catwoman's bike, the same frame was combined with the general design that was used for her bike in the original set except with a brick built headlight over a sticker, horn pieces instead of two wonky looking antenna pieces for handlebars, and reworking the rear entirely to look like the design from the film that featured two baskets on either side of her bike that was used to store her cats at the very end of the movie. Overall, I have to say I'm very happy with how these turned out, and just for comparison's sake, I included a picture of the actual bikes to see how they look side by side. Thanks for looking!
  2. The Batcycle looks as detailed as I was expecting it to be, it'll go great with the Batmobile.
  3. Looks like Lego is getting ready for Keaton's Batman comeback in more ways besides the single Flash movie set. This keychain is going to be available starting January 1st, and it's the same minifigure from the D2C 1989 Batmobile and Batwing: https://www.lego.com/en-il/product/batman-keyring-854235 If only these keychain minifigures still had removable pieces, it would make the task of getting the cowl and torso/the only exclusive pieces a lot more easier than trying to find a good price for the figure on Bricklink.
  4. Late reply, but I take it you don't really consider the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D show to be canon then? Because they gave us a tiny cameo from Johnny Blaze in the episode where Robbie explains how he got his powers. But I'm also with you on allowing more comic based sets to have their time in the spotlight, otherwise you might as well call this theme Lego MCU instead of Lego Marvel. I'm still holding out hope for a comic based Fantastic Four set, but knowing how Lego works/unless you're Spider-Man, the MCU variants will be the only ones that'll ever get sets.
  5. I think that's just because of the poor lighting from where the picture was taken. If you look closer at it you can kind of see the lines and details that look to be the same as the ones on the actual suit torso. They even got the giant gap between the lightning belt right (seriously, it's so far apart, can it even be called a belt at this point?).
  6. It might not have been anything special for Batman Day to a lot of people, but seeing the Batmobile chase from The Batman be animated (albeit condensed) and uploaded to an official DC channel brought a smile to my face. Though personally, I was happy because someone FINALLY built a MOC of the Penguin's purple Maserati Quattroporte that he drove in the movie. I've been trying to search for a MOC design of it online for months. The Batmobile set always felt like it should've included Penguin's car as well so that he wasn't immediately outclassed/screwed with just a stud rocket launcher. Now I just need to find out who animated this and to see if I could at least get a parts breakdown of how they built the Maserati. However, I can already see that some of the pieces don't physically exist in the colors that were used in the video like the "Wedge 2 x 1 x 2/3 Left/Right" pieces in Trans-Clear for the headlights. Oh well, there's always improvising.
  7. Well said, it's amazing how their mentality has changed in 15 years. The original Batman theme drew inspiration from almost every significant iteration of Batman that took itself seriously (sorry 1966 Batman). It wasn't just from one source that they based the sets off of, you could see the inspiration from the Burton movies with the Batmobile, Batwing, and Joker's helicopter, plus a bit of influence from The Animated Series and the recent comics of the time for the minifigures. Even though the Nolan movies were the big Batman thing at the time, the final 2008 wave featured Batman wearing the Dark Knight suit for 3/4 of the sets but against villains that were from the comics who never appeared in the Nolan trilogy like Mr. Freeze and Harley, with only 1 "proper" tie-in set for The Dark Knight being the Tumbler: The Joker's Ice Cream Surprise. And even then it was only half inspired by the movies since the Joker and his ice cream truck were comic based as well. Lego could've easily made a few sets based off Batman Begins (which we didn't get till last year with the updated Tumbler), but instead they stuck to being creative rather than this weird notion they have now about the movies being the reasoning behind why they're not making anything/barely making anything for DC.
  8. Today marks 30 years since Batman: The Animated Series first premiered...and Lego somehow didn't capitalize on this by making a TAS Batmobile that would no doubt sell out multiple times like the 1966 Batmobile and Tumbler before it. I'd really love to get inside the minds of whoever decides on what DC sets to make because this seemed like the most no-brainer idea that could've existed. There's failing, and then there's what Lego has been doing.
  9. Well isn't this a surprise, I'll gladly take it. I didn't think we'd get any more sets for The Batman after it already came out, but since I'm such a whore for the movie, this is getting my money. I guess this means the Technic Batmobile sold very well if they're doing another Technic set (even though the Batcycle only appeared at the very end of the movie for 2 minutes). Either way, it's going to pair very nicely with the Batmobile.
  10. If you're hooked on the Robbie Reyes version, I'd also recommend picking up the Fast and Furious 1970 Dodge Charger set that just came out in the Speed Champions theme. I know the set that Robbie comes in also has his Hell Charger, but compared to the Speed Champions one, it honestly looks like a 4+ set. All you need to do is modify the front grille area (since the 1969 Charger that Robbie drives is slightly different from the 1970 Charger) and you're all set.
  11. Do you mean the 76221 Flash set? 76022 is the X-Men vs Sentinel set that came out in 2014.
  12. If they could change the logo on the torso to be in the center as well as increasing its size this time, it'd be perfect. The 2016 version was pretty much flawless, but I never liked how the logo was moved to the corner so that the hoodie piece didn't cover part of it. Plus getting some side leg printing with the ankle pouches would make it look more complete over using plain red legs.
  13. Yeah, we probably will see the symbiote suit in the MCU after No Way Home or maybe in Secret Wars if they're taking inspiration from the 80s version as well as the 2015 version. I just hope that Lego throws in a comic variant alongside the MCU design since I'd prefer something simple over what's probably going to be an over-designed take on the black suit with a similar white vein-y appearance to match Tom Hardy's Venom. It's crazy how Bagman has a closer chance of happening with that little easter egg of the suit on one of the screens in the Spider-Lair set. And now that the MCU Fantastic Four movie is coming out in 2 years, Lego could finally make a comic based F4 set and throw the Bombastic Bagman in it as a bonus (even though they probably won't make a comic set for a long time because the MCU takes top priority over the actual comics that created them).
  14. I haven't seen Doom Patrol either, but Peacemaker is NOTHING like The Boys. The only things I'd say that Peacemaker has in common with The Boys is being able to show blood with the violence scenes, swearing, and one instance of nudity. But tone wise, they couldn't be more far apart. Peacemaker mainly relies on humor and has an actual heart to it, which is what a lot of people have come to expect from a James Gunn product at this point. Harley Quinn isn't anything like Family Guy either. It's more like a parody of all the DC characters with Harley at the center of it all, with some exceptions like Batman still being the straight man during all this, and it's actually funny instead of just using cutaway gags in every single episode. I'd say give it a chance before you write it off.
  15. With how much Lego loves Venom and Carnage judging by the both of them getting helmets and thrown into sets ad nauseum in the past few years, he definitely seems like a very likely choice if these figures end up selling well/decent. Black suit Spider-Man on the other hand, I wouldn't hold my breath (rant incoming). It's starting to get really annoying how Lego will make literally almost every alternate Spider-Man costume they can think of...except for the one alternate costume that's easily Spider-Man's most iconic and popular suit behind the classic red and blue. It has been an entire decade since SDCC 2012 where Lego made the brilliant decision of choosing the black suit as a Con exclusive figure (where the only exclusive thing about it is the head), and ever since then, they have avoided making a regular release black suit Spider-Man minifigure like the plague. We can get alternate costume minifigures that no one asked for like that knockoff looking Scarlet Spider design, or the Big Time/Stealth suit, or ANOTHER Iron Spider, but forget about ever getting a black Spider-Man head with big white eyes and no extra printing so that we can at least use a spare Venom torso to make one ourselves. It's gotten to the point where I'm considering just using the head from the Anya Corazon Spider-Girl minifigure and erasing the mouth since it looks absolutely perfect as a semi-purist custom.
  16. I like the printing on the torso and mask for the Spider-Man figure, but this whole buildable figure thing is starting to feel like what Mega Construx/Bloks was doing with the Marvel license back in the mid/late 2000s and making buildable figures that were clearly their attempt at Bionicle-esque Marvel figures. Now I think this concept could work with the Marvel theme...if used with the right ideas rather than trying to dip their toe in the action figure market. Imagine an X-Men set to tie in with the upcoming X-Men '97 animated series that's a Sentinel build using this style. These figures basically look like giant robots anyways, so why not use it for the one thing that already IS a giant robot. Throw in a few minifigures (including the obligatory Wolverine), maybe a couple of new X-Men that we've never gotten before like Nightcrawler, Beast, or some updated designs for past figures such as Cyclops and Storm, and watch it sell like hotcakes. But that's just my two cents though.
  17. Yeah, I slowly realized that when I took another look at Shuri and noticed that the Panther suit was the 2018 design.
  18. I'm guessing the Black Panther figure that comes in the Lab set is supposed to represent an empty suit that's on display like how the Civil War suit was displayed in Shuri's lab in the first movie. The minifigure isn't a reuse of the one from the Black Panther mech either, it's completely new. It looks the closest like the 2018 suit judging by the torso design, but I could be wrong. Kind of funny that Lego still somehow managed to technically sneak in a T'Challa Black Panther figure in these sets after all, I was sure that it wouldn't show up.
  19. There's been rumors of her wanting to leave after Wonder Woman 3, but that's been unconfirmed for now. The only actual quote from Gadot has been her saying how she wants to make a third movie "to have a nice closure.", so take that as you will.
  20. Well we got our first leak of the Harley figure in the 4+ set...and it's sort of new? The head, torso, and legs are reused from the variant that's been around since 2020, but the hairpiece is from The Lego Batman Movie Harley with inverted colors this time. I guess it's better than giving her the pink and blue pigtails again, but this change is definitely going to irk me as Harley has always had red on her right side and black on her left, whether it be the jester hat or the dyed hair. If it were up to me, this would've been the perfect opportunity to make a minifigure based on her appearance in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad (as we'll never get actual sets from that movie), but I guess not. Throwing in an exclusive minifigure in this set would've been a great incentive for adults/collectors like what the Juniors sets used to do with figures like the Animated Series-esque Mr. Freeze. Now the worst part of the set: according to the comments on Instagram, the Batman included is the EXACT SAME black suit version that has been around since this theme's inception. It has been 10. YEARS. since that figure was first introduced in the DC sets and it just will not die already. This is officially worse than Lego reusing the same Ultimate Spider-Man figure from 2012-2019, I could army-build with the amount of times they've used this figure. If Lego is so adamant on using repeat figures, why not use the Batman that came in last year's Accessory Pack that's been retired now for a while? That set was on Backorder half the time on Shop@Home because of the amazingly updated 2006 Batman minifigure/the Hush suit, and not only is it STILL the current Batsuit that he's been wearing in the comics since 2018, it would give a lot of people more of a reason to buy this 4+ set since the Accessory Pack felt like it was released and retired in the span of a month. And if Lego really wanted to be pedantic and keep some form of "exclusivity" with the 2021 pack, they could swap the legs that had the trunks printing/dual molded boots with standard light bluish grey legs with a black hip piece instead. That'd be fine by me as long as I didn't have to see that black suit Batsuit ever again, at this rate it'll outlive us all.
  21. I must be dreaming, some actual set news at last. I'm 95% sure it won't be coming out this year anymore thanks to the film being pushed back to next year, but it'd be really great if it ended up being put out early accidentally. I knew from the minute that Keaton was announced to return as his Batman that we'd end up getting a set with the 1989 Batmobile if we got sets based on this movie, and those leaked set photos of Keaton's Batcave/the tease at the end of the trailer shown at DC Fandome last year sealed the deal. I don't think this is going to be Affleck's Batmobile since it seems like his main vehicle that'll be getting more focus in the film is that giant Batcycle that was being filmed last year (which honestly looks like it'd be perfect as a set, it's already oversized). Lego definitely knows that a lot of people would jump at the chance to get the '89 Batmobile that's a general release this time instead of a GWP that still goes for ridiculous amounts of money on eBay/Bricklink, and seeing how the 1966 Batmobile and Tumbler sets are STILL going on Backorder to this day, this set is going to sell like crazy. I just hope they keep the same amazing attention to detail that was used for both those Batmobiles for this, instead of making it look overly kiddified in its appearance. Off the top of my head I can think of a number of different changes that they could use to make sure it doesn't feel like they're just repackaging the GWP set, the biggest one being that they could use the Speed Champions chassis piece to finally make this a two seater. Every minifigure scale version of the Batmobile that Lego has made up till now that was either directly based/inspired by the 1989 design has kept it as a one-seater, going as far back as the 2006 Batmobile from the original Batman theme. This one fix would already allow it to be a huge upgrade from all the others, alongside maybe getting some round 1x1 tiles with the bat logo printed on them for the hubcaps, a unique windscreen piece that gives it the split window effect (I'd take it as a sticker too), and brick built fins instead of using those single bat fin pieces. Bonus points if they could incorporate the machine guns as a play feature instead of slapping on a pair of stud shooters and calling it a day, but if the 1966 Batmobile and Tumbler had them, they'll no doubt show up here too. At least those are a super easy fix. Man I can't wait to see images of this set, getting a Keaton Batman figure that'll finally be able to actually fit in his own Batmobile is going to be great (even though the suit is actually a bit different compared to the 1989/Batman Returns suits).
  22. I don't think it's too gruesome at all. But even if they don't end up making one for Barry Keoghan's Joker, Jestro's head from Nexo Knights is a surprisingly great substitute:
  23. The end of the first Flash trailer from last year's DC FanDome showed Barry pulling the tarp off of it before cutting to black, there's absolutely no way that it WON'T be featured in the film. Likewise, there's no way that Lego is going to pass up an opportunity to make it into a general release set and watch it sell like hotcakes if the online prices for the GWP 1989 Batmobile are any indication. They could easily make an improved version of that one that would be able to fit two figures this time as well.
  24. After coming across this old promotional picture for the Batman: The Animated Series DLC in Lego DC Super Villains, I feel like a cowl like this would've been perfect for Battinson. All that it needs is some printing on the forehead for the stitching and it's good to go. The final BTAS Batman minifigure in the game ended up using the same cowl that's plagued the theme for the past decade instead of this design, but this cowl is like the perfect blend of the slightly longer ears with the more open mouth area. I've already compared the ear length to the short eared cowl and they ARE in fact a little longer...unless it was an error on whoever made the render and this IS the short eared cowl, which in that case, ignore everything that I've just said.
  25. I'm surprised no one here has mentioned some people managing to get the new Wolverine figure early and posting pics of it on Instagram. While there's no hairpiece, it DOES have a double sided head with a completely new facial expression. I've already seen a few people (stupidly) say how Wolverine shouldn't be smirking, that the 2012 minifigure with the more neutral face was better, and even one comment that said the expression looks like it's from a Mighty Micros set, but clearly these people haven't seen one of the most famous Wolverine covers that the new face looks to be directly inspired from. The face doesn't even make him look happy. Compared to the 2012 and 2014 Wolverine expressions, the new one just screams him saying "Try something bub, I dare you." It's honestly refreshing to get a new face that shows his cocky side for a change.
