Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Roebuck replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
"and then a general description that this is an extension of the Medieval Market Village. "Each building features detailed interiors showcasing new merchants and trades not previously seen in the original."" Of course it will be a follow up to the LKC as well so I expect some soldiers that tie them together if not lion knights then maybe cross axe fraction and am I sure there will be a forestmen fig or two there. However MMV even if it has 2 soldiers it is very civilian focused and really not like anything we had gotten in Castle until then. I expect it to go very well with the castle, but fit perfectly with MMV -

It is designed as a add on to MMV so since there is a blue building there I think they will go with other colors here The castle had few animals this will obviously have a lot, in addition to the goat(s) this will probably have some of them in new colors as well. Regarding minifigs, they are most likely just stand ins. The castle had to use a lot of the budget on bringing old parts back and printing parts so a lot of the minifigs are similar there. Now we have a lot of relevant parts and figs available for the designers so I am sure this set can use more of its budget on new figs -
It was in BAM also, but never in any sets I think Strange since it is a nice mould much better than the original snake..

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

If we get the Brachiosaurus neck part in brown, it should make a fantastic tree trunk part right? -
The JP sets are out in the wild! Probably the best wave I can remember without any funky dinosaurs, but my wallet is happy I do not collect dinosaurs because that Brachiosaurus will cost a fortune to army-build

Was no fluke, it was part of the test. They will be back in stock after the 4 month wait is over -

I hope and think so yes I am no where near a Dark Age because of this, but will be interesting to see how it is handled. Maybe Lego stores will start with swapping again? Just buy a fig, open it and if you do not need it, swap it for one you need -

I am guess they will reuse some parts, however I am sure the set will give us several new civilian parts as well The real question is if they keep making the new versions of older figs like the ones in the castle or if they start making new ones -

It will be really interesting to see how things go when they move too CMF boxes. I do not think weighing work very well and one thing is to feel the bags another to stand in shop with a weight, but it might work. If the placement of the figs in the box is over 90% for a untampered box that might be most promising way to do it. If it is impossible to tell the popular figs like knights will probably be more expensive on BL so getting a few would be costly.. I am glad the first series is Marvel so I can learn from the mistakes people do before we get a normal series.. -
Strange that the Indiana Jones set do not use the two newer snake moulds in the set (that scene is jam-packed with snakes after all so make sense with some variation), from what I can see it is only the original one.. Not sure about the colors, one looks black and the other some kind of green

I do not think Lego expect to sell many copies of this set to kids anyway, as long as enough adults buy it that is no problem.. That was a great haul, should be more of that kind of stuff when people line up in a queue to buy a expensive set for full price

Maybe you finally get your goats in this set @Withacee -
Same her, rather strange to retire a set that has been out of stock for several months, it should mean that the demand is there right?! If a lot of people ask Lego for the set it may of course be the one coming back this summer, but then the leaker must have mixed up the number of parts

The B-Bay was out of stock a lot of the time in Norway (so probably sold a lot here), I bought 2 sets I have on display, but regret not buying a 3 to keep in the box. Kids probably buy/get a lot of licensed sets, however Lego are making a lot of sets for adults now. I do not think they expect to sell more/same of the Galaxy Explorer than a SW set of the same size/price, but as long as they sell the GE to other customers they will earn a lot more money. I vote with my valet and will buy Pirates and Castle sets before any licensed theme

That was odd and most of the time it was sold out as well, starting to suspect they have broken a mould in the set so they could not make more of a specific part in it or something like that E.g. the corn piece only came in two City sets with a 6 months shelf-life, it was also up on PAB for a while, but with a ridiculously high price so that is a suspicious part right there if you as me. Another example is the famous goat in 7189 Mill Village Raid, that set only had 6 months on the shelf's and some years later we find out the goat mould is broken I still think the Ideas designer got paid for that, it belive they rather pay 1% Ideas royalties fee if a set sells like hot cakes instead of retiring it early and miss out on 99% of the money from the set. They did the same with the ship in the bottle, a lot afols (probably new to the hobby) asked for the sets so think that was the reason they brought them back

Some years ago the re-released a couple of sets ; "LEGO opens vault to re-release 10268 Vestas Wind Turbine on Black Friday" "LEGO Opens the Vault and Re-Releases the Huge Taj Mahal Set" If this is similar it is probably a completely new model this time inspired by one or several classic sets

Could be bannermen or a lesser house under the lion crown I guess I do not agree with that and hope they focus on animals and civilians in the set. My guess is that the building with the tower is a based on; That set also has the lion shield (and the black falcon one), but the crossed halberd heraldry figs so I guess that increase the change of them popping up in the set -
Is this happening first the medieval village and now this?! A Eldorado fortress remake would be a dream set. However 2509 parts is not very big without the baseplate Hope it is not a ship..

I think it is possible we get it this year! We do not know how old the picture is, it is a rather finished build as well for a prelim. My guess/hope is August this year -

I think it has more to do with moving high demand parts from standard to bestseller, to reduce the orders and waiting time on standard i Billund (bestseller in Poland ship very quickly now). Anyway it means horses are popular and in demand Would be nice to have the original horse colors back yes, however new colors are also great to get so I say as Winnie the Pooh; both please I would also like to see the foal in more colors since that is a fantastic mould, still waiting for it in the classic horse colors black and brown I would not mind e.g. a wolf pack fig etc in the set, but hope the focus on civilians figs in the village -

Horses are animals too I agree that horses was the most important animal to include in the 90 castle set, however only two in such a big set was at least half of what we could expect compared to older sets You are right about the horse being gone for many years until HP brought it back. Now they are back and in circulation it is easier to include them in more sets as well without using up the hole budget -

Roebuck replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That is right, but they can include a lot of animals if they prioritize it and in a set like that I assume it is very high on the list with animals I felt that that was the only major downside to the 90 year castle that the animals was not prioritized in it, but if we get a set full of them in the medieval village that do not matter at all when we combine them -
Or the fact they made 3 long movies from one little book when it should have been 1

Welcome I have avoided the JP sets so far, but this year it sounds like it is a fantastic wave of sets I watched the last movie this weekend and it lacked all the magic from the first one even if it tried to score a lot of nostalgic points. It is decent entertainment, but the behavior of the animals are stupid (Edward Scissorhands dinosaur, what was that about)
