  1. The Marvel sets have a crazy high price now, so I assume they demand really high licensed fees compared to HP. So they could probably only include 3 to keep it at the same price
  2. Wicked definitely has a much larger potential customer group (in young girls) than LOTR has since it is aimed for adults. The first run of LOTR/hobbit did not sell enough sets to kids and there was not enough AFOLs around at the time to keep the theme going. Lego have noticed the demand for the sets the last years and decided to try to release 1 huge D2C every year and that apparently worked. However they remember the poor sale the first run had on smaller sets and that makes them weary to try again. Just look at HP, the first wave sold like crazy however the 2 or 3 wave was released in a year (2003) that did not have any new movie on cinemas and it sold poorly. After that even if HP just grew in popularity the coming years they released very few sets in the theme and it was not before the last movies hit the theatres that they released a proper wave with more or less a "best of series". Think about all the money they lost those years with not having enough sets on shelf. However failure makes them weary and since then they have been really reluctant to release licensed series that are not backed by a movie or similar. HP was the most asked after theme for many years in Lego shops etc and with the new FB movie they decided to give it a go and the first new wave got 4 out of 10 of the bestselling Lego sets that year!
  3. Is it possible to use minidoll hats for minifigs? If so there is a potential new witch hat in the set I think
  4. Gringotts dress maybe?
  5. Joke and joke, it was a small set with 4 minifigurs with 3 of them being unique to the set. I am sure a lot of people here would love to get small sets with a lot of minifigs within this theme now in addition to the huge set once a year
  6. Who knows, tomorrow or might never happen, probably somewhere in between
  7. Hear! hear! They really went all in on the prints on the dog mould this year so what much more can they do with it So my guess is that we will get a new dog mould next year, if that is something similar to what we got this year or back to a normal dog or maybe a new puppy remains to be seen They could also end up reprinting/recolor an older mould if they need to use the mould budget for something more prioritized, e.g it the rumored F1 sub-wave needs a lot of moulds
  8. I think you still get them for bestseller parts, so depends on how many of the parts are that. One strategy is to wait some time to see if new parts end up as bestsellers before you order them..
  9. For a 800+ set?! Nah they can probably only afford to include 1
  10. I do not think they take budget from a series and save that for a future series. The only time I heard about something like this was with the first new HP/FB wave taking some moulds from JP budget, but that was the same wave and had the same design-lead. They needed a lot of new moulds for a basically new HP theme and instead of making a new dinosaur that wave they could probably reprint some instead and get away with it. My guess would be that the D&D IP partner have high demands on what their figs should look like, so Lego must steep up their game to seal the deal
  11. This is OT, but I for one is happy that Lego only release 1 modular building a year since I have run out of shelf-space for them and they are rather expensive (not necessarily compared to number of parts). They are easy for MOC builders to be inspired by and they get some perks if they hit 10 000 votes on Ideas so no wonder a lot make them. I am pretty sure a lot would stop collecting them if Lego released more than one a year or start getting more picky about which ones they buy Back on topic: Another print of this dog comes in the tram-station now, not sure if that is mentioned before? It is the 4th one this year, while I get the point I would have preferred we got the normal new dog mould in 2 different colors instead
  12. Maybe Lego do not want the competition for their modular line?
  13. Shops can sell Lego for whatever they want, the retail price is just suggestion from Lego. Shops that sells a hole box of 36 figs can take a lower price and earn less per CMF, but sell a lot more and that way in total earn more.. A few shops will even take more than retail, but unless you are something like Hamleys they normally can not get away with that..
  14. They probably have one set more or less finished now, if they release it depends on sales etc on the ones already on the marked.. I assume they will show it of during the RLFM days in September if it comes out 1HY next year..
  15. There are two geese in a small pond and two pigs in the first burrow clip from the movie, so that's why I mentioned that. Not sure the chicken coop ever made it into the movies? However with the price of the chickens/hens piece on PAB I doubt they can afford to include several of those
  16. It looks good, but so was the other two sets, how many burrows do I need I will wait for better pictures before I decide 2 pigs and an owl, I am hoping for piglets in the set All in all a very good year for owls, with 4? new prints
  17. That is nice to get since we haven't gotten a great grey owl print this time. Makes sense that Errol is flying in the set as well Is that the only owl in the set? I see 2 pigs, but it could be more It would be a great set to include some piglets to keep the mould in rotation.. Do we expect any more animals in the set? Ducks and geese would fit in nicely, but a new mould for them here seems unlikely..
  18. I normally only check the threads I already have posted in before so better make it obvious Is it possible to move this thread and just remove licensed from the title? Then maybe keep the title here with only one post directing people to the other post?
  19. Was what I thought as well Micro-scale make sense, if so my money is safe. However it is getting harder and harder to keep up with HP even if I only buy system scale sets
  20. I assumed they would be different classrooms for the new Hogwarts castle, but you might be right
  21. The HP January wave set names have leaked DA: Wizarding shops, I wonder what that mean.. 3 Hogwarts sets 2 vehicles and the manor
  22. It is even up for preorder, but as normal better deals are made elsewhere.. https://www.lego.com/en-no/product/dungeons-dragons-71047
  23. Thanks for the tips, was interesting to see the interview March next year say the rumours (except the test run in UK now)..
  24. I am not talking about these ones (they will for sure pop up in a couple of months): But these ones that are only a limited release in UK now, but apparently not a wide release before next year?
  25. I am sure a lot of kids and even a few adults just buy blind boxes so even if the most popular figs are bought with scanning the rest will be sold eventually as well. In addition even if 2-3 figs are most expensive on the after-marked it do not mean that every customer are hoping to get them when buying figs..
