  1. Are you sure? The plastic is very thin, and would be far more prone to breaking than the standard piece.
  2. Theoretically (as I don't have a creature to test this out on), removing the Toa's gear knob and using this some pins, pin connectors and the piece with a vertical pin/cross hole arrangement and a half axle/pin would work. It wouldn't be very stable, but it'd be suitable for posing.
  3. Because it looks cool, and most people don't really care anyway. It gets the point across clearly, and if you had actual holes in the vents it would look more fake than it does now.. Has anybody seen any good mock-ups of the Summer sets? I've tried looking but I can't find any. I'd attempt to build one myself but I haven't been able to buy any of the Winter sets and/or don't have the parts and time.
  4. Thanks for the review. Can't say I was too excited for even the project, and I'm amazed (no pun intended) that review copies are already out, assuming this is one. It's really a collector's piece more than anything else, while there is the appeal of building alternative mazes you couldn't get much out of it. Bit of a shame they couldn't find a way to add in actual holes and a collection tray.
  5. Absolutely gorgeous. You've done an excellent job here, and I can't wait to see what you do next.
  6. We're in the second year of Gen2. While I personally found the episodes far more enjoyable the second time, character and world development really wouldn't have been an issue this year if they had continued the format the animations had, . The tone has changed, the cheesy "so bad it's good" writing is gone, quite a few characters have changed the worse, and the world feels a lot less like something out of legend. And its most heinous crime of all: nothing for the community to rabidly overspeculate on. Now it just feels like they're trying to follow NINJAGO's format (maybe that's what made me hate it so much at first), when BIONICLE needs to be its own thing. Continuing the minisodes, even with only 10 more episodes maybe (though probably not) with a new MNOG would have been much better IMO.
  7. Very pretty. I groaned when I saw the title because normally LDD MOCs are very simplistic, but you've surprised me. I could see this as an actual LEGO set in stores, you've done an excellent job recreating the style. Are there any functions, though? Only thing missing from it
  8. Atrocious writing. Cinematography needs work, but is acceptable. Worldbuilding is nonexistant. Voice acting is lackluster Animations are acceptable, but need more attention to detail. Background characters either stay static or move their heads in random directions. Messages are heavy-handed, forced, and suffer a lack of elegance in their portrayal. Characters swap between personalities regularly, consistency should always take priority in a story even if it means all characters become one-dimensional templates. Or at the very least make the character give a nod or something to the character that normally would have said it. The fights are both pretty and well executed. Overall plot is highly disjointed. Environments are mostly good, but there locations such as the Labyrinth have a complete lack of originality. I've heard worse music. Overall, I actually enjoyed it probably for the action scenes, pretty spectacles and the way they used Umarak's powers. The prologue was more painful than I could have thought, the usage of just the animations with new narration was absolutely awful and a waste of potential. I would have rather seen them do a second series of minisodes than this.
  9. All that matters are the games that can be played on it. The difference graphically between the PS4 and XBox One is relatively minor, and both fall short of the "Potato Masher" PC from what I've heard. But as it stands, unless you're looking at all 3 at the same time you're never going to know the difference. Just buy what console that has the games you're going to play or has the best exclusives.
  10. As much as I hate myself for saying this, it's not out of the question to have a radical artstyle alteration. Artistic direction can often be changed between series installments. Take for instance, the transition of Just Cause 2 to Just Cause 3, Portal 1 to Portal 2, XCOM Enemy Unknown to XCOM 2, the changes from Fallout 1 and 2 to Fallout 3 and New Vegas to Fallout 4. This can also be seen in BIONICLE with the changes in comic book art, MNOG, VNOG and the films, not to mention the differences between the 2015 minisodes and Journey to One. Then there's the artstyles of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels... I could go on. Personally as long as the visuals are beautiful and not too realistic I'm happy with it.
  11. Hey, you're not the one who misremembered the Hageman brothers' tweets Well, this is something I never expected to happen.
  12. That's odd. I remember whining about those tweets and the season numbering a while back, and complaining about the season numbering being messed up. I suppose that was because of the Australian packaging. Sorry for the confusion. Unfortunately it isn't. Over here ToE and Possession are packaged as Volumes 1 and 2, Volumes 3 and 4 of season 4 respectively. The bundle package is called season 4 as well.
  13. Well... technically they actually are
  14. Actually it might not be season 6, it could still be season 5. ToE and Possession were considered the same season by the writers, so we'll just have to wait to find out. Anyway, Lloyd's dragon is growing on me a little, it looks much better in the pictures than on the box at the very least. Ronin's mech isn't complete garbage (although technically it is, I think), and the cockpit is pretty nice. The Rock Raider is much more beefy than I thought it would be, and there wasn't really anything new to see with the USR. I still think they could have done better with the Lighthouse.
  15. Flintlocke's video was pretty good, but Doubloon... well, it's not like we had consistency this season anyway.
  16. You're under the impression that I think the "power ups" were a good idea and that they had any place in the story. You're assuming my problem with the Bohrok stems from their portrayal in the story. If I were Greg Farshtey, Christian Faber or one of the writers we forget about I would have struggled to come up with a better story reason than the one they came up with. The Bohrok Kal were in general just a horrible idea that are a reflection of BIONICLE's later years, both set-wise and story-wise. Clone builds with excessive amounts of metallic pieces, and overall just pointless like the story bloat. While having the Creatures be unique is arguably better than making them random fauna, it also means that we still really don't have a good look at what Okoto's wildlife in general is, and a lot is lost for that.
  17. That's the reason why you change cast entirely, rather than keep every character around at once. If you mean overall cast, well, we've already got unnecessary character bloat going on already with the ~super unique Creature characters~ that LEGO insists on doing. There's a reason why the Bohrok were story-wise way cooler than the Bohrok Kal. edit: that's not to imply that the Bohrok Kal were in any way better than the original Bohrok no mask of control for glorious pc gaming masterrace first
  18. Has NINJAGO become a religion?
  19. If we're talking about CN shows, NINJAGO's show predates Mixels by three years. Or what about Atlantis? It had a 30-minute special that was showed on CN every now and again.
  20. >people see very clearly CGI images from a trailer >"the game's graphics are incredible!" >people see no gameplay footage >"it looks great" Personally I thought the trailer's humor was, for the most part, terrible and forced. Knowing TT Games the gameplay will have little or no changes from previous titles. Love the MGSV reference in the DLC tite, though.
  21. Jay's suit? Eh, the armor feels tacked on, but I'd say Cole and Zane's are the dodgy ones, seeing as Cole has that disgusting grey hood with black (same goes for Zane, except silver). Everyone else looks fine. I'm not surprised this is what Wu-Cru turned out to be, even if it is pretty cheesy It's basically a continuation of the original "Explore" tab or whatever, except more interactive. Sort of like Harry Potter's Pottermore before they ruined it last September. (edit: it really isn't that at all now that I've fully seen it) EDIT: No LEGO, unlike all spiders the Tiger Widow does NOT have eight legs. If they aren't even going to fact check their own quizzes, I'm done already
  22. Maybe one or two, but how many people in Ninjago actually know where they came from? Would Cyrus Borg be willing to give someone the Realm Crystal to bring them back, when are potentially still loyal to Nadakhan and may go to any end to find him, who may or may not remember the events that didn't happen? If Nadakhan does remember, it's bad news for everyone seeing as the main cast have no wishes left.
  23. Kai - Fire Jay - Lightning Cole - Earth Zane - Ice Lloyd - "green" Which is related to this, how? The games are not canon. Especially the web games. ...what?
  24. The problem with Rebooted was that ultimately it reset its own timeline; the only exception being Zane, Cyrus Borg and (to an extent) PIXAL. The problem with Tournament of Elements was that the villain was terrible, his end goal wasn't threatening, and ultimately anything they introduced never returned again in any meaningful capacity. Personally I thought Possession was awful, but at the very least it had repercussions, introduced Ronin and opened the scope of NINJAGO. And the problem with Skybound is the utterly ridiculous plotholes and the complete reversal of anything and everything that happened apart from Jay x Nya fanfics becoming canon again. To be honest, the ending didn't bother me too much. It just made what was an otherwise fantastic finale incredibly mediocre. It didn't leave me frustrated like ToE or Possession did, but it was still disappointing.
