  1. Another quick one : 10026 - UCS Naboo Fighter Not a very intersting one, I must say. If it wasn't for the chrome pieces, I definitely wouldn't see anything attractive to it... Which is what we miss in the LDD version, so... anyway, the stand is a little modified, due to a lack of certain parts in LDD. LXF File
  2. Thanks, I saw them last thursday too. I'm already halfway through book 2. EDIT : And done: 10212 - UCS Imperial Shuttle (I forgot the minifigs before I did the screenshot but I put some in the final file) The 8M axle with stop couldn't fit in the notch of round the hole of a technic brick, so I had to replace them wit a normal 8M axle. And while the 4M Axle with stop did work, by the time I found it in the list, I already replaced it by standard 4M axle and it was too late to change them back. Lastly, I had to build something to replace the 2x12x4 Windscreen which isn't available in LDD Oh, And I couldn't put the technic stick on the bar for the front guns on the wings, so right now, they're floating in mid air. Here's the lxf file
  3. tssssk knitpicker still, title is now changed...
  4. I certainely will, once I find the instructions... And I don't think I'll be the only one. Here's my latest : 10129 - UCS Snowspeeder. I had to take a few liberties for the cockpit front canopy, as the original pieces aren't in LDD. And all of the wedge plates are supposed to be the old style wing with the little nudge on one of the angles. LXF File It's a really nice looking one. I wish I didn't miss it, now...
  5. New one again... 8129 - AT-AT Walker It's nice to build something that goes straight on without a single problem, for once... Though after building it, I still do prefer the original 4483 LXF File
  6. Ah thanks! I updated the lxf file from my post And since I've been a bit busy again today... 7191 - UCS X-Wing Unfortunately, the cockpit piece is unique to the set and isn't in LDD... LXF File
  7. thanks Truth is, I couldn't find the flesh tone color... but then with all those solar flares they must travel through, it's bound to have some effect
  8. Weeeeeell, Here goes, then : 10179 - UCS MILLERNIUM FALCON with a pic : I know I said I'd finish it yesterday, but then I had to go to work... I really need to sort out my priorities Obviously, there are quite a few things that aren't quite correct due to the random state of many of the angles of the hinges (I know, I spend most of my posts complaining about those, sorry). So the radar dish is suppose to fit in the hole in between the hull plates right next to where it is, and the top gun platform should be lower. But apart from that, I'm rather amazed I got to this state after working on it for a little more than a week... Anyway, here is the LXF file and now I'm off to bed.
  9. Damn it, I've been on it too... I'm on page 248... Now I definitely have to finish today... If only that damned program actually did what I ask him to do...
  10. This one has probably been mentionned before, but it would be so much more practical to be able to open more than one model at a time. Either by opening multiple insatnces of the program or with some kind of tab windows within LDD. I often have to copy and paste one part of a model in another and it's kind of a drag to have to open a file, copy the pieces needed, hoping it doesn't lose them while closing the file and opening the other one and paste them... and repeat...
  11. 8099 - Midi scale ISD There's only one missing black pin in the bone structure I couldn't get to fit between the two technic bricks. Otherwise, it's all correct. LXF File I really love LDD to get a general feeling of a set pefore purchase. And in this case, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. The big gap in the middle shows way too many bricks of odd colours... And I'm still not sold with that weird flattened alien head that passes for the bridge tower...
  12. I thought about two other features for the interface although they may have been mention before: floating palettes (most especially the color palette) and customizable keys and shortcuts. For instance, I often use the thumb buttons of my mouse in other programs and such and it would be nice to be able to assign the turn keys on them (or any other function often used by someone). That way I wouldn't have to let go of my mouse to turn the pieces and then take it back to place them where I want. -> faster and more efficient (ok, AND a little lazier, but hey...)
  13. Well, I couldn't find it in his file. But maybe I didn't look hard enough... Hop, a new one : 10019 UCS Blockade Runner I had to make a little tweak here and there for the different part to come together but all in all, Really not much. The oly thing that was missing are the big dark red wheels used at the back of the Thrusters. I had to replace them with smaller ones. Here is the LXF File
  14. what would be nice is the possibility to import custom decals like Agi's fantastic work in illustrator. But I do agree, it isn't as important as, say, a better hinge system But I also say Amen to a portable version. I get easily bored at work but I don't have any admin rights to install new programs, so a portable version would be fantastic.
  15. What do you mean, Programmatically? We can do macros in LDD? That'd be soooo cool... Anyway, just a quick one before I go to bed Midi Tie Advanced X1 from 10188 Death Star I know it's not a complete set, but I couldn't find it in ADHO15's work and I wanted to see what it looks like. I might mod it and get the pieces to give some company to my Midi Millenium Falcon And the LXF file (Oooooh I just noticed my new tag )
  16. Well, I'll take the circle for the laser dish as an example : normally, it uses click hinges (it's probably not the right word but it's the one I've heard the most used. It's those hinges that click in places at certain angles) Image but to close it, I can't select the pieces with the align tool (normally, I would click in the red circle) It just doesn't activate at all, no green arrows, nada. So I have to change them with the clip and shaft pieces (again, probably not the right name) Image which I can select and use the align tool on. Image here's a simple LXF with just the circles if you want to try.
  17. Well that's good to know for the peace of my self esteem On another note, I takcled on this one: 10143 UCS Death Star II But that proved way too much of a challenge. There are so many things that don't work, I couldn't know where to start a list. Although Everything is there. It's just that nothing fits the way it's supposed to. And I couldn't place the inside of the laser dish, since it's not actually attached to anything. One thing I did notice, though, is that the Hinge Align Tool cannot be used on the click hinge bricks they can be manually rotated, but I can't select them with the align tool. Everytime, I had to replace them with a combo of a 1x1 plate with vertical clip holder and a 1x2 with shaft to make it snap and then change them back to the actual 1x2 click hinge pieces Still, here is the LXF File if anyone is crazy enough to try and correct it. but after that, I'm glad I never got the actual set. It's so full of holes, and odd color pieces, I don't think I would have liked it... It's big all right, but that's about all it's got for it... and hurra for the copy-paste of LDD because there are soo much repetitions... EDIT : Just realised I forgot the Round dish on top, so I updated the LXF and pictures
  18. Well, since you ask so fervently, here it is 3451 Sopwith Camel and the LXF file I think I'm starting to get the hang of that hinge tool... Sort of... But I did find something weird, I can't put the last brown piece that's supposed to complete the connections of the top and bottom wings. Somehow, they don't quite align with the 1x8 technic bricks but I can't find out if it's an error from me or from the program... Oh and one last thing, does anyone know if the big technic steering wheels are in there somewhere (the one from the technic supercar)? I can't seem to find them.
  19. Ah ok. I updated my lxf file and my previous post
  20. I first bought the Sopwith Camel, in real hard physical bricks, and I immediately fell in love with it. Which made me want to see what the Red Baron looked like in 3D. That's how I started it in LDD. But I don't really have plans to do de Camel... The idea alone of having to use those hinges again makes me shiver ... They reaaaaaaally need to work on those... But maybe I could... What do you mean by "brick yellow"? there's no name on any of the colors, so I used the one that resembled the most to what I was looking for. it's the lighter of the many browns, I think... A pop up whith the name could be useful in future version, like it does whith the name of the pieces...
  21. I did it right after I got my hands on the Sopwith Camel. I had to see what that red baron looked like. And now I finally found a real one. I'm expecting it anytime soon And my next acquisition will most definitely be this one : 10124 Wright Flyer It's only missing the chain links which I couldn't find and the ropes which I couldn't place. The tips of the wings have been a little modifiedfor lack of the right piece. And most of the hinges are only connected on one side. Those things are a real pain in somwhere very dark to use in LDD. I never quite manage to make them connect on both sides. If someone has a special technique to do it, it's most welcome. I hope it'll be really improved in the future versions of the software... LXF File But those old planes have a real charm to them... I wish TLC would make more... EDIT : Updated to the official "brick yellow" color.
  22. Well, yeah : KimT. But he's not sharing The only thing he's been willing to say is that it'll blow our mind sky high
  23. I'll give my little share to this topic. 10024 Red Baron I had to replace a few hinge plates which make a bit of an ugly offset on the rudders (dunno if it's the right word for it, it's the things on the back wings that go up and down to control the plane) and the pieces used to make the stick don't exist anymore, so I couldn't use them either... And LDD doesn't want me to use the windows to make the seat guess it's not quite a legal connection... and finally, the brown thingies used for the landing gears don't quite connect but they were a hell of a pain to place, so I made as best I could... LXF File
  24. Now that's really clever. And if it were all black, it would make an excellent underwater mine as well... Nice work
  25. I. Need. That. Skier !!! And then I have to give it a yellow jacket an I would have my very own minifig for the winters
