Heroica RPG - Quest #90: A Trip to the Circus
The Legonater replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
It seems a fairly reasonable solution to me, if it works. These men nearly sparked a full-scale war. They deserve punishment for their crimes. I will take whatever is left, Nerwen. -

Sound off, everyone okay? Someone double-check the bridge, I'd hate for this to go south after all that. -

I'll get Cinna. I don't seem to be making much of a dent up here anyways. Unless you'd rather I bring up Jess. I move to the Eastern Front. -
Amazing work! I've always been a huge fan of Gambit Kinetic Man, I may have to order him someday!

Am I not already lucky? With few other options, Dyric swings his old chain whip at Cassandra. -

Is the store down or something? I've been trying to get my order in, and it won't let me checkout. -

Hey, boss, hate to be a pain, but do you have anything specific in mind for me, or should I just start wailing on Cassandra with the chain whip? -
I thought the total opposite of the two Star Trek's. The first one was pretty good at best, being a rather bland movie, but okay. Into Darkness was great. I don't understand why people keep complaining that it was similar to Wrath of Kahn - that was the whole point.

I agree. There are a lot of aspects of the Thrawn Trilogy that make it work well as a Star Wars movie, and is probably the closest thing in the EU to one. Even other works by Zahn like the Hand of Thrawn duology would be ill fit for a movie adaption, for some of the reasons you've listed above (which does sadden me a bit, because the second book contains one of my favorite scenes from anything, ever). Personally, I'm sort of expecting a MCU sort of thing out of this. I may wind up being completely off base, but I wouldn't be surprised if the movies picked and choose parts of the EU for them to use. It'd be a smart choice, too - I'll be the first to say there's a lot in the EU that just doesn't work well, but there's also a lot that could turn out great, even if only the concept is used.

I think Thrawn pretty well proves that you can take a General or officer or whatever and have them be a pretty memorable villain. People like Zsinj or Xizor also show you don't need force powers to be a serious threat.

Right. I find Thormanil and use a Cosmic Essence to revive him. Can one still trigger Assassination with a weapon of a non-effective type? -

Thanks for the help, mate. I raise my bow and fire at the Priest. -

I agree, the Sith have been done to death. While I won't necessarily be angry if they used Sith in the new trilogy, a non-Sith villain would definitely be a welcomed change of pace.

Only new name I recognize there is Serkis, but that alone has me excited. This could be good! As for the lack of Lando, I'm not entirely surprised. He wasn't in ANH, so they could be paralleling that, and in the books (whether canon or not) he never showed up in too big of a role except for the odd job that he was running. So we may see something similar to that.

I, personally, am not surprised. Thought I still agree it's not the best name.

I've largely been keeping out of this discussion, but to be honest I'm not a fan of this ruling on Hastened either, I've never seen it run this way, and it's this ruling that makes stuff like sacrificing players necessary in the first place, which I definitely feel should be limited if possible. I'm sorry? I'll grant you I haven't exactly been the biggest conversationalist, but Dyric really has never talked to people until going into a quest with them, Arthur being one of the few exceptions. Even then, Dyric actively tried to assist in the younger team's goal, and took a shining to at least a few of them.

I fire at General A and B. A stray glance reached the Elites. For a second, their helmets almost looked Duplovian. Surely it was a coincidence. It had to be. -

I fire at archers I and J, hoping the oncoming forces would end soon enough. -
I was under the impression it was confirmed that final title would be 'Battle of the Five Armies'? I'll grant either of those titles are better, that's just what I had heard.

Whatever you say, boss, though I've got a better vantage point up here. I move to the Eastern Front and hesitantly fires at Archer C from the back. -
